Wats up Uberman... u beat me in getting and wiring the HPS.Im going to HD tomorow 4 mine,i went yesterday but they didnt have the 70wHPS.If i may suggest, the way i got the rivets out was with a flathead screwdiver and a small hammer.I just put the flathead on the other side of the rivet(not the head) and hit it with the hammer til it broke and came loose.Some take longer then others though, depending where theyre at...but now if i may ask a question.Did you follow the DIY link o rama on the remote ballast?? Or would you be kind enough to explain how u did it since im also getting a 70wHPS?? Howd you wire it to your power source? Did you put it in a metal box??, etc. Thanks in advance... and we shall also compare grows once up and runnin!!

kidkannabis...I followed sugerbear's DiY and it was pretty helpful......I used a heaty duty extension cord from home depot that I bought and just connected the wires make sure u use wire nuts so separate the colors........goodluck bud give me a holler if you need anything....later

Yoh! Uber21...got a question for ya... i followed Sugas DIY and i noticed that the 150wHPS he bought has the BLUE wire from the ignitor and ballast wired along wit the sockets BLACK wire, and the 70wHPS i bought from Home Depot has the RED from the ignitor and ballast wired with the sockets BLACK wire.. Did yours also come like that?? Did you just leave it like that or did rewire like Suga Bear did?? thanks bro hopefully u kan help me out with this one...dont wana start a fire or shock myself.. Stay up

No I had to rewire because of the security photo sensor.....that extra piece doesnt need to be in the project thats the photo security sensor......So I individually tied each color coated wire with there partners....red with red or pink, blue, with blue and so on......

Nothing much really to update....lol....as she is still sprouting but I will deff keep updating....I have another seedling in the soil that has not sprouted yet....maybe tonight she will break through the soil......when the lights go back on........

I'm down with the micro grows, trying to pull 4 ounces off of a 150w HPS.
I like the challenge! haha 1000w'ers are cool but they require much more resources to keep cool, much more power to run, much more space req!

As far as the fans go, i wired two of them together when i had my rubbermaid goin.
I used a 3" heat exhaust fan and a 4" exhaust-to-carbon fan. One used 200mA the other used 350mA. I got a 1000mA DC converter and just wire-nutted all of the commons and powers together. When they're wired in parallel you can put as much together as the power supply can handle. When they were wired this way the supply was putting out 12volts across both fans at 550mA. Both ran fine.
Although if you're looking to have the cooltube fan turn off with the light that is always an option, you can put it on the same timer as the light.
also, i'm very interested in that little carbon scrubber you made. Can you elaborate on that???

Nice build. I'm using a Coolermaster as well (different model), very nice cases. I had thought about the cooltube idea but there aren't any cases long enough to fit them. I am going to use a glass aquarium cover to partition the lights away from the flowering section of the cab. It should work kinda like a cooltube.

I like the call on the 70W HPS...warm but with proper air flow the tmps will stay cool enough. flouros just don't produce the same size calyxes that HPS does. plus compact flouros give me headaches. good grow dude!

SubN thats exactly how I have my fans wired up as well....im using 1500mA on the amps......right now believe it or not I really have no need to use a cool tube as my temps aren't climbing higher than 73 degrees....and thats with my fans off......lol......guess winter does have its advantages.......the seedling is on 12/12 from sprout.....I was thinking of eliminating the one of the fans and just keep 2 fans one for intake at 3"" and another for exhaust...since temps isnt an issue....both of the mini scrubbers I built are from the Diy link on my sig...check it out loads of info for everyone to view.....props to everyone that has contributed to that from IC...
Og rip thanx man coolermaster cases for the money are great......mine came with 3 fans built in it.....for 40 bucks......
My reason for not growing with cfls is I wanted to see if there is really a difference using a 70w hps as opposed to cfls when it comes to micro yields.......PLacing the ballast outside the case is the only way I would do it.....that little ballast gets hot.....lol....it would of for sure raised my temps into the 80's if it were placed in the case.........

right on Uber21, I know from plenty of micro gow experience that compact fluoros just don't perform like a "HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE" lamp will. regardless of watts. it's all about light intensity in thhe critical parts of the grow spectrum, and HPS has so much more critical red and blue than fluoros. I like the choice of strains to grow mini style: chemdog DD, I mean, what a rediculous strain. I have not yet had the pleasure of obtaining any of res. dog's seeds, but DD looked pretty damn attractive. I'll be watching this one just for old time's sake. Good show!
