Hi,

Your opinions on greenhouses? I'm considering putting one in due to privacy however i was wondering if there is an impact on thc due to the shade factor from the mesh...

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of different types of materials available in this day and age and if any experts can help please do :rasta:

uv ratings

uv ratings

just be sure to check the uv ratings all shade cloths have one you just want one that has the lowest uv reistance and blocking capabillitys ....

in lamens terms you will still get sunburn under some shadecloths and there the ones you want for your green house.........! !

Are we talking about a greenhouse / glasshouse or a shade house?,,,, and then there are polyhouses/domes made with thin plastic sheeting.

From my experiences with shade cloth the closer it is to the plants the less effective it becomes.

To check this, use a light meter hard up against the shade cloth, then take readings at increased increments from the cloth.,,,, but like AS said, chances are you're still gonna get sunburn if you spend too much time under it yourself..

nice plant and grow area wish i had that much room ......now you wanna find a nice easy strain too grow when you look for seeds look for speed queen at seed boutique real easy first strain to buy and she grows fast and flowers fast great for the beginer grower and good for turn over of product......

and your grow area is awsome i would just put a roof over it made out off that clear corrigated fiberglass just to obscure the overhead veiw but still let all the good in from the sun.............wow big area you can fit two dozen in that space easy and they would be big ones

nice mate impressive grow space.! !

That IS a nice sized area, are you thinking about growing in pots or in the ground madb? (soiless or soil)

If you close it off on all sides,, & a roof (with the material AS spoke of) you could grow all year round. The stuff I'm thinking of is called Alsynite - comes in a few profiles, including corrugated,,, the white one cause you can't see through it but it lets 80% light thru. There's also a polycarbonate sheeting that costs a small fortune!

Maybe dig that area out,,,, to give you some height for plants/ pots, ,,, or replace it with some rich compost and grow plants straight into it?,, ( could you imagine one large plant in there?) :2cents:

Keep us posted; this will be killer when you're up & going!

Hi Smurf,

I like to just grow in soil, that area my plant is on is very composted from vegie scraps, shredded paper, horse shit, clippings etc so it would probably be a good medium on its own...

I like a controlled environment for my plants hence the pot but maybe next time around who knows.

I went to bunnings today and forgot to look at the stuff aussie s mentioned about however i may try again tomorrow. My son plays up every time we go there, all he wants to do is play in the kids area :puppydoge

Here is a pic of my plant in the area, as a scale that fence is 6' tall.

I think i might scrap the roof cover idea for the corner and just grow some camouflage plants instead. Maybe a nice bouganvillea etc... what do you guys think?

So long as you wont have unexpected neighbors popping their heads over the fence, or nosy workman repairing/installing stuff on the roofs of nearby homes etc, etc.

I think i am ok with the neighbours so far. All the houses around me are finished and the antenna guys have been. There is only house which is not built which is right next door but as soon as it starts i will stay cool and not grow for a season if need be.
