I put my plants on assorted boxes and crates today. Things are much more level now and will hopefully cut down on some of the stretching.

Also, I FIMmed my big plant today. I hope I did it right:

And.... :woohoo: We have another female!!!

Things have been pretty busy for me lately with the holiday season and all, so I haven't had much time to check on my girls. Lucky for me, everything is looking great. I also have identified female flowers on my bagseed plant. My only problem is that the plants are getting too big, and it is really really time to start flowering.

I transplanted my two biggest plants into 5 gallon pots today. The others will be transplanted shortly. I plan on taking cuttings, start LST, and start flowering by the end of next week.

Here are some pictures

Good stuff mate - did you have a good holiday? If they're getting a bit too tall, try tying them down!

Thanks Sammet, I did have a good holiday... but my real holiday will be coming in about 60-80 days :)

I'm planning on going to the hardware store tomorrow to get something to tie them down with..... I REALLY like the rubber wire casings that you use. Were they easy to find? I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Any electrical/hardware shop should have them. They should be sold as wire sleeving or shrink sleeving. Make sure you give it a good wash, rinse and dry before using it on your plants (just a precaution). :)

Its flowering time!

I took cuttings yesterday from the lower end of my plants and trimmed off a bit extra. I put them into rapid rooters and set it underneath a clear plastic tub to be used as a dome. If I can get one clone out of the 24 cuttings I took then I will be happy.

Tonight will be the first night of 12 hour darkness. They will wake up tomorrow with a 400 watt hortilux hps above them.

I will also start tying the plants down tomorrow.

Here are the pics. Do you guys think I should cut off more at the bottom to avoid popcorn sized buds?

EDIT Stupid me forgot to switch the timer tonight, so they started flowering 2 days later :bashhead:
Day 1 of flower was actually 14 January 2008

DEFINITELY MALE???

I took these pictures of one of my plants today.... Do these ball things still have a chance of having hairs pop out of them or is this plant definitely a male?

Wow man nice fim job, nice setup man, definately up there. Your plants look so healthy too man. Im here smoking up sample buds from my little cfl grow trying to pack in as many 400w threads as i can for my upcoming 400 grow, and there are so many great ones that take over 2 hours per thread just to read everything!!

Truth is everyone on here does such a fucking good job showing pics, telling info about everything that has anything to do with the grow, it really helps out everyone, alot. What a great place to come and learn. I am going to do a dished scrog lst style for lots of budsites quick and a fim job on the tip a day or 2 before the flip to 12/12 !!!

I just hit a ROYAL FLUSH on the stars while reading your thread so its definately a sign that 400 is the light for me. I havent hit one in over 2 years and i play alot, sometimes for hours a day. Thanks everyone for everything, i learnt more on these forums then anywhere

There's a little bad news...

I had to remove three males last week, so I am down to just three females. Two of them are big buddha Cheese, and one of them is a bagseed.

Fortunately, I was able to clone all of my plants... multiple times. Out of 24 cuttings I took, 10 of them rooted! So I will have 8 Cheese Females and 2 of the Bagseed for next run if I want. My problem is that I wanted to plant some Sweet Tooth, but it looks like I won't have the room ( I wasn't planning on being so successful with the clones). I might have to build another box...

So I'm about a week into flowering, gonna start giving them some Iguana Juice Bloom and Some Earth Juice Microblast soon. I gave them 4ml/gal of Cal-Mag last watering. I can see them really starting to stretch now...I need to get these ladies tied down more or else their gonna grow through the ceiling.

everything is looking great queso45! bummer about the males, but good job on getting clones.

say, i haven't really talked with others on cloning, so i honestly don't know, but is that a good rate of success for most growers? if so, i must be getting very, very lucky, or else maybe you should consider a similar tactic and get a floating clone tray. i've ran about 50 clippings through since using it, and the only clones i lost was when i switched nutrients from powder to organic liquid, and even those were just the brand new ones (maybe 5 clones, less than four or five days). water went STAGNANT. lol but, after switching back to a small amount of powder grow fert, i am back up to my 100% success rate. no shit, i'm not making that up to try and impress anyone (don't have too haha), but if you are having trouble cloning, let me know and i'll pm you more info.

hope all is well my friend!

Hey Khaleel,

I wouldn't say that 10 out of 24 is a good success rate, I do have a few excuses though hehe. I would say that your 100% success rate is quite exceptional though.

Here's the reason I only got 10 clones:
I had to remove I think 6 cuttings when I found out they were males, so that brings me down to 18. I originally told myself that if I got 1 clone I would be happy... so I planned on ordering seeds. When all of the roots started popping out, I realized I was running out of room--- so I decided to stop cloning when I made it to 10. When I removed the remaining cuttings, two more of them were already beginning to show roots. I don't have room to clone & veg in my little box... and I really wanted some Sweet Tooth next run.

So with 10 clones in the box, I have no room for Sweet Tooth... unless I take some out. Its quite the predicament because I would be getting rid of medium yielding definite females, and replacing them with high yielding possible males.

My best solution is to build another box in my grow room... I'm just getting a little tired of building all this shit.

I am interested in this floating clone tray you speak of though. There's constantly water sitting where the stem is?

Thanks for stopping by khaleel. It's always good to hear from interested members.

right on, didn't know that included the males lol. anyway, here's a link (the guys at my local hydro store recommended it to me, they had it in stock): Sunleaves Float and Grow

and a few pics of mine

i bought a 2 foot wall shop fluorescent at ace hardware for $15, plugged it into my veg light timer, and put a heating pad under the tray on "low" (heating pad just speeds things up a bit). use about a quarter strength grow fertilizer, though be careful with organic nutes! but they will root without nutes if you are an all-organic grower.

hope that is helpful! good luck and great growing :canabis:

Oh yea Khaleel I definitely need to get me one of those. I really wished I had a heating pad when I was cloning. Perhaps I'll get one for the next round of cloning.

I'm so jealous of your setup btw... How long did that take to build? I really need to start setting up more of a perpetual grow.

Edit: 800 watts on my ladies

Edit: 800 watts on my ladies

I am now running two 400 watt HPS lights on my three plants :muahaha:

I'm on day 21 of flowering now and have given them their second dose of nutrients today. I am feeding them 5 ml of Advanced Nutrients Iguana Bloom, 3ml cal-mag, and 5ml EarthJuice Microblast.

My northern-lights bagseed is definitely packing on the most weight, which was expected. I'm starting to see some trichomes develop now. The Cheese plants are doing fairly well also. I've decided my goal is to yield at least 6 ounces of dried, finished product.

Pics from day 21:
