THE MOST conservative county in california mind you.

MPP NEWSLETTER:
"Nearly a year of lobbying and organizing in Orange County paid off when the county's department of health finally launched the statewide medical marijuana identification card program last week.
In order to qualify for the ID card, you must be a legally-qualified medical marijuana patient or caregiver under California law, reside within the County of Orange, and pay an application fee of $150 ($75 for MediCal recipients). To make an appointment to apply for an ID card, call the county health department at (714) 480-6717 during normal business hours.
It is not mandatory to obtain an ID card, but many find them to be extremely helpful in avoiding detainment, arrest, or seizure of property by state and local law enforcement. The card design includes your status as patient or caregiver, your photo, ID card number, and expiration date — but your name and contact information will be left off.
MPP has received positive feedback from several patients and caregivers who have obtained cards and can testify to the success of the program in protecting patients from arrest.

Thank you for supporting the Marijuana Policy Project. Please pass this alert onto Orange County patients or caregivers who might be interested in obtaining a medical marijuana ID card."

How considerate of them. Needing people to "lobby" the county to enforce a law? I feel like this is an insult after all that has happened as a result of drug war tactics recently. Another shake-down of patients imho.
