check out the massive calyxes on these bottom buds...

Wow, those ARE impressive! Liked to have seen what they would do if left alone after the tops were harvested. :yoinks:

I shudder to think - they were scary - as big as marrowfat peas, and just as green! It's a weird strain this one, whatever it is. The buds aren't always as deformed as the ones in this thread - these are a few from my last grow, but you can see the common features quite clearly:

Damn, didn't you luck out with that amazing bagseed. Must have been a great bag that you found it in for sure, if it wasn't stomped all to sh%@! Anyways, have you seen any other plants out of the rest of those seeds? Was there any males? Did the other females look very similar or a completely different pheno? Sorry for all the questions, just seems as though that would be a great strain to use for some breeding, very nice qualities indeed!!

That's a great looking plant, something about it draws you into wanting to grow her, great stuff and well done on grabbing good bagseed!

That's one of the least appealing descriptions for cannabis smell that I've ever heard... LOL

Beautiful budshots. Once again, bagseed turned into something quite impressive! :rasta:

It smells somewhere between celery, dusty cheese and a damp cellar, but it's much more pleasant than it sounds. When dry it's quite sweet-tasting smoke, though definitely at the savoury end of the spectrum - not fruity at all. It's very weird, but very special...:)

Phew, I've finally regained semi-normailty after my 350 mile (had to make a detour) 5-hour nightmare drive home through a rainstorm over flooded roads and a 14-hour sleep! I slept like the dead till 4pm today, EM has some killer buds for sure! lol

To clarify the seed situation, there are four more seeds picked from the same bud as the seeds that produced the Kentich Creme, and two more seeds from another bud of equal quality that is called 'Auntie Alice' due to the family member it came from, apparently. I have these 6 seeds in my fridge and treasure them greatly. My goal is to grow them out and pray for a male, this male will then be crossed to the KC cut, which I also have, I vegged my cut into a bush, cloned it several times and put it into 12/12 today, there are half a dozen cuts of her in my veg chamber, one will become my mother, the others will be used to make outcrosses.

Hopefully I will find at least one male from the 4 seeds from the same bud, and I will cross them to the KC cuts, producing test batches of seed. I'm sure some folks will help us test grow them.

Hey Lougrew, if I send ya a few hundred seeds is the back yard still in action? The idea of seeing Lou grow the KC makes me smile from ear to ear as I know he'll do it with MAXIMUM BALLZ! lol

EM's KC x Flo cross is definitely a good starting point, the Flo is a fantastic strain, all the phenos I've seen in the flesh and been lucky enough to smoke have been fantastic, I believe the male EM used to cross to the KC was the purple pheno, and I really, really like the smoke of the purple Flo buds, extremely interesting taste, each toke can taste different, I've experienced all kinds of tastes from flo buds - black tracle, orange liquer, all kinds of dark, sweet flavours. The KC imho smokes as good as it looks, potency is in line with the resin production - it's as potent as it looks and has a complex head/body effect, I found that it made me kick back, melt into the sofa and have a big smile on my face, really strong stuff, one of the best I've smoked in recent memory. It's taste is also dark and earthy, my first attempt at describing the taste was 'hot beef sandwich', there are certainly a number of dark, earthy, hashy, nutty types tones in there, as the different samples I tried grown by different folks varied but all were similarly earthy and complex.

I'd say the KC is roughly 70/30 sativa/indica, and the Flo is also roughly that proportion, both plants have dark, earthy, complex tastes and both produce very unique looking, pretty buds so I have high hopes for this cross. I watched the germed seeds go into the soil yesterday and I am very excited to see what they turn into, good luck EM!

Thanks for that great explaination of absolutely everything I was curious about, especially after your long ordeal on the road! I have always heard great things about Flo from everyone, and your description really makes my mouth water! Some nice genetics you guys have kicking around there! It is so hard for me to come up with genes of that quality being way up here in Maine. For one, laws around here make things so difficult to deal with. I had a great outside crop this year of some great genes that only ended up in the County police storage shed. Had to do a couple of days in jail, luckily I was under the 100 plant mark! Anyways, my point is that I would absolutely kill for the opportunity to have a continuous crop of top notch plants and access to the amazing quality seeds that you guys keep producing and breeding. I do all right considering my issues though, but def not without a pile of paranoia! Keep up the excellent grows and I would def be interested in seeing how some of those crosses turn out!

Oh by the way BH, that Purple Afghan is stuff dreams are made of! I have never in my life seen such a beautifull purple lady. Some impressive work Indeed!! Huge yeild in such a small pot! Keep the great work up BH, very inspirational!

BH - Good to hear you got back in one piece - I don't know how you drive after all that! But well done for doing it. There'll be some of these KC buds ready in a couple of weeks, and I'll make sure I get enough for us to have another smokathon! I forgot to mention that I also have another two seeds from my same buddy, who gave me them at the same time he started the Kentish Creme seed. These he said were 'High-Grade' - the local name anyway. Like the KC seeds, they're large, so maybe it 's the same again - who knows.

But I don't think these are particularly rare instances of good genes popping up - granted, they're from Jamaica, but it was hardly a deliberate cross! And the El Yucateca BH picked up in Mexico, and also the Purple Afghan show that good bagseed or special landraces can be picked up comparatively easily. I've got three batches of African seeds that I pulled out of exceptional brick last year, and I've grown stuff like that before indoors - easy to grow and fairly fast flowering generally.

All I'd say is don't get disheartened that this is another 'elite' that you'll never see. For one thing, there's plenty of good seeds out there that could produce similar stock. And for another, I can guarantee that between us, we'll get something out to test, that's for sure...:)

Hehe, I sometims don;t know how I do it, that time beign no exception, I pretty much collapsed straight into bed when I got home and slept like the dead from 1am to 4pm the next day.

I have to agree about exceptional plants being out there waiting to be found, either I am exceptionally lucky, or finding two exceptional varieties - the Purple Afghan and El Yucatero in 6 months just shows you the chances of finding such plants are quite high.

It's all about selection imho, start as many seeds as you can as often as you can and keep cuts of the very best and you'll soon have a good collection of exceptional mothers, there is far too much emphasis put on elite cuts nowadays that folks want cos they saw them pictured on the internet.

I wanted to grow Trainwreck for years, and when I do, it's just after I grew a bagseed from Mexico that I think is better in many aspects. I got the Abusive OG Kush cut and thought it was great, then EM gives me the KC cut which I think is even better, so much for 'elites' eh?

For me, the hunt for more exceptional, rare and exotic plants, especially sativas goes on, I've just planted four sprouted seeds of the Thai seeds EM collected from the first batch of Thai sticks that passed his way. I've also got some of the second batch of Thai stick seeds, some of the Africans and am currently inahlign as I type on some of the third batch of Thai stick, which I think is really good potent sativa smoke, not many seeds and mostly crushed, but any viable ones I find will definitely be grown at some point.

Anyways, KC hybrids will be made in the future and I'm sure there will be plenty of seeds to share around, so folks can get to taste as least a part of the KC for themselves. You know, now we have the internet and a global network of amateur cannabistas what do we need seed companies for? Certainly we don't need the rich, pompus lying downright fraudstaers that run some of those companies, let's work with our own exceptional plants and share the results with others and cut off the supply of money to those fat cats who love to screw us with their mis-labelled hacked beans.

Yep, sure did, and they were a truly classic smoke, and a cinch to grow indoors too - at least my phenos were. Beautiful taste and smell, smooth, trancey high with no jitters, and lots of psychedelic potential when you take it far - my kind of smoke. Only downside is the long flower-time, but it's not too bad really, considering what you get at the end.

I just popped seven of my eighteen Kentish Creme (Mystery Jamaican) X Flo seeds. They're some of my biggest seeds, and they all came up fine - very red-looking and large for seedlings. These are particularly exciting, as it's the first cross made with this wonder female, and lord knows what might result, but the previous Flo experiments have been a revelation, so I'm quitely confident.

Structurally, these strains are very similar, though very different in taste, smell and high - both stimulating, but the KC is more dreamy and stoney, whilst the Flo is crisp and motivational. I'll update with pics as soon as it's worth it...
