Abby, I'm shooting with my D-80 and I wonder, are any of your shots under a HPS? Would you include the shot specs in a few of your pics, like f/stop and shutter speed? I'm interested in how you get such great shots, what size lens are you using? Do you flash or no, natural light only?

The initial Christmas harvest of the Wonder Diesel was a great success, with the partial top layer yielding 1.5 pounds dried and trimmed. I estimate there is about double that amount still left on the four girls, so I should come out at a shade over one pound per plant. This is due to the horizontal grow method I used, which increased the yield dramatically. Had a chance to smoke some with friends the other day... just one hit gave them a helluva buzz! The second phase of the harvest has been postponed for next week as the Wonder Diesel buds are still fattening up and just showing a hint of amber. Take a look for yourself:

medgrowr02 - to answer your question, no... I don't like to shoot under HPS. No matter what compensation you give, the colors are never natural. I normally use a flash, but all depends on the effect I'm after. Primary budshot lens is a Nikkor 65mm 2.8 Macro, and while it again varies depending on effect wanted, I shoot at 200 iso Aperture priority. Best advice I can give you is to experiment and find what works best for you!

Nah TF... mine's longer. At least that's what she said! Yes, of course you are correct, it is a 60mm, and no... I never got that new nikon macro flash kit. Still using the old SB-80.

Was just up late and figured I'd throw out a pic from one of last year's grows. Too be honest, I don't know exactly what strain it was... it's hell to get old and forget shit! Of course, it really doesn't matter as it is all about the art... at least for me!

Howdy Doodie Friends!

Well, not much is going on in the Flower Room now as the weekend harvest approaches... the buds are just about ready and it will be a busy weekend of trimming and making some bubble. Life is good

Thought I would share a little non-cannabis picture I did last night... I call it the Artsy Fartsy Butterfly!

cdc - Any mate of Wally's is a mate of mine! Before you non Aussie's begin to wonder what the heck... that's Oz speak for friend! As for your photography question, the best tip that I can give anyone is take lots of pictures, and experiment as you do them. Try different ISO and F-Stop and Shutter speeds, let your imagination run wild. Any good photographer will try to tell a story with his picture, or try to capture an image that will evoke a response from the viewer. Keep that in mind when you shoot, what's my composition, what's the background, what am I trying to show!

This is the pic of the Wonder Diesel that Wally is referring to... I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to notice! It is indeed a male flower nestled within the calyx, however it won't have the chance to open as tomorrow is harvest day. As ol' Rezdog once told me... a few bananas can't spoil that party!

As the harvest continues at the Bud Shack, it's almost time to cut the Big Cindy... my own personal c99 pineapple pheno cross. This particular gal was revegged and then flowered from a previous grow, and she's still putting out some mighty fine colas! Here's a picture taken taken just a few minutes ago:

Man, the smell coming off my fingers as I type is sweet and fruity. For those of you unfamiliar with the Big Cindy, it's a c99 crossed with a Bubblegum x BC Big Bud. The Big Cindy is now several generations old... and just keeps getting better!
