hey guy,

i don't know much about your setup, but in my experience when first starting to veg, i can get away with a week between waterings for the first 2 weeks or so. as the roots get bigger they drink more. after 3 week its every 5-6 days, then during mid-full flower its every 4 days, sometimes 5. the hotter it is, the quicker the next watering is.

but here's something you can do, lower your lumens. if your just vegging, only use 1 of your t5 lights for those 3 weeks, that should drop your temp down a bit. if you can keep it at 70 or below (even 65) the whole time with one light going it would probably last a week+ between waterings without any wilting.

the cool temps will make the plant drink less, and transpire more slowly.
and low light will also make it grow/drink more slowly.

kind of like putting the plant on minimum life support for those 3 weeks, then kick them all back on when you return.

believe me the plant won't up and die in low light. it will just slow down. you can probably use just one 4 ft t8 shoplight to keep its heart beating.

That idea with cutting the amount of the light is a pretty good one if you dont care about their growth rate while you are gone. It'll be like putting them in half-stasis. You could also just buy a roll of thick twine and make a DIY WaterWorm.

Take plastic bottles and fill up with nutes and water, cut small sections of twine, bury one end up 1-2 inches into the soil, and the other all the way into the water bottle. Pre-wet the twine to get the capillary action going.

^That should keep moisture going to the plant... I haven't tried it before but it has been reccommended and people say it works. You could also just put trays beneath the pots and just leave a good amount of water in it to be wicked up by the plant, but that opens a possibility of root rot from them sitting in stagnant water.

have a reservoir filled with whatever your feeding them and have 2 wicks per plant going from the reservoir to inside the soil.. pre soak the wicks and the plants will draw water as needed... no pumps to fail, etc
