How do I install fan & filter in my grow tent?

I just set up a grow tent in my bedroom and have a inline fan and carbon scrubber arriving tomorrow. Before setting it up, I wanted to run my ideas by my knowledgeable friends here at ICMag to make sure I do it correctly.

My HTG supply grow tent is in my apartment's bedroom. Dimensions are 36" wide, 20" deep, 66" tall. Lighting is 250w HPS remote ballast and 150w HPS enclosed ballast. There's a 6" Air King clip on fan blowing for circulation inside the tent.

Ventilation: Passive intake will be through horizontal slots at bottom of tent. I will exhaust filtered air out the top of the tent.

A couple questions:
- Do I hang the scrubber inside the tent or outside? For stealth, I would prefer inside.
- What do I use to attach scrubber and fan to the top of my tent? I was thinking bungee cords. But I'm a newb who's never done this before.

Does this sound right to you, or would you do it differently?

some of those tents have a pair of straps fitted to the roof stucture on the inside. they are for the filter..otherwise bungees are fine. The extractor port should have a sock attached to it with a drawstring yes?? 4 or 5 inch fans can be put inside the sock and the string pulled around it to hold the fan up....
No matter what, to keep the temps down in the tent and stop it making your bedroom stuffy, you need sokme ducting coming from the fan out the ack of the tent and over near the open window...... You can do without but it will be more pleasant sleeping in there with it if you have the air gouing out. you can open the window a crack and put a nail or something in it to secure it, or there are special brackest you can buy wihich have the same effect..

I used the rails that come with the tent to hang the filter and fan. I now have the fan mounted vertical..

Im now running an air cooled setup, these pics are of the tent before i went to a cooled hood...

ive got a "no name brand" tent...theres two holes in the top for air in and out(back left hand corner) and one on the bottom on the left at the front for cords tubing ect and those "horizontal slots at bottom of tent" wich double as a fantastic sorce of light leaks...on the 1st grow i left them open and the crop suffered...but i tryed it....the next time i tapped them up....and found it much better....

theres a big grow tent/box thread on here somewhere with alot of handy tips about tents that ppl have come up with....do a search on "grow tent" ...good luck.HH. =]-~

Those rods in the top are real handy. I didn't use the supports they provided. Don't remember why. I just supported mine with those two orange bungees on the front and back cross members. But then my fan is an external one. I went strait out the back port with mine. The way the tents are made (Hydrohut mini anyway) you have a number of options. If your tent is a Hydrohut, I highly recommend getting the flange kits for where your ducting goes through the tent wall. It makes for a much better setup IMO.

Those white chains under the filter aren't doing anything. I just hung them there.
