If you're anything like me,you've never been too keen on the whole Hip-Hop tip(other than Cypress Hill). Not quite understanding it's philosophy on life, but desperately trying to be "down" with it.

Well, it's your lucky day. It's all been laid out in handy, easy to understand visual aids.

guys guys guys... it's just a joke... step down from your soap boxes.

besides people who understand hip hop usually know and people who don't understand hip hop usually don't care to know. what's there to argue about?

it's those evil little bitches that come out of the woodwork and blame hip hop for society's ills because they don't want to admit they weren't really parents in the first place.

I have to agree. If you didn't understand hip hop, you wouldn't have found any of those funny. As a long time fan of rap/hip hop, I'll be the first to admit that 90% of it is absurd bullshit. There's another 3% that's talented, about 3% that's entertaining, but not talented, and 4% that do both very well.

Can anyone make a graph of that?

B.I.G. is the greatest of the rap/hip-hop genre ever. That guy was pure talent.

Nice graphs by the way. I think one of them is a reference to Skee-lo's 'I Wish'. Brings back some memories of the old days.

new age rap is mostly about money.

when the rapper can step beyond money and bling, they get big.

take Kanye West for example. The guy just makes sense and raps beyond the norm.

i like to think that rap is alot like country (except rap is about the black man's ups and downs, and country is the white man's ups and downs)

;)

lol, nice pics

LiL WaynE, you're on to something, ever see Hustle and Flow? They have this discussion about how the blues influenced hip hop/rap and country and like lots of different music.

ahem, master shake, don't forget immortal technique!!!!

Real hip hop was perpetuated by Grandmaster Flash, DJ Kool Herc, DJ Jazzie Jeff, Young MC, and all that. By the time ganster rap emerged in the mid-90's, hip hop culture was all but dead.

Which, by the way, hip hop was a culture. Rap is the music. Those graphs were pretty funny.

this is absolutely the truth except for it all being dead. for sure its still alive, now what its turned into is a different story all together. we still have our arts (in regard to dance, music, and various still art) and yeah, if you know your hiphop teh graphs are funny as hell becuase one of those graphs does make direct fun of "i wish" like. . .
