This is a hydro co grow, we are both new to hydro so any info or tips would be much appreciated. We have an ebb-en flow table system with a 20 gallon rez and we're running a 600 Watt HPS. The closet is about 3' x 4', we're planning to scrog them, and we just started to germ the seeds. Dipped the cubes in some water with a drop of super thrive. I germed 3 Double Strawberry diesels from rez, 3 Biko II's from annac, and 2 Blue Satellite 2.2's from Spice of Life. We are currently waiting for them to sprout. We'll have more pic's of the set-up in the near future.

Hopefully we'll be ready to go by tomorrow, just waiting on those sprouts to pop. I've been reading people have had trouble germing in the rock-wool cubes. I hope this doesn't pose a problem. As soon as they pop out of the cube i think we'll throw them on the table and see how it goes. We're going to pull any males as we see them, we're hoping for 4 to 6 females... 8 would be nice too haha, but maybe a little too much for our table and space. The duct work will be hung properly after we put the table in the closet. We also thought about using some insulating Styrofoam for the noise of the light and the fan, so we still have to do that and then we should be good. I hope you get a good show goodmangigabyte :rasta:

The first of the have sprouted and are barely poking out from the rock-wool. The DSD's are doing the best i guess, i think all 8 seeds germed. I can kind of see down the hole in the rock-wool and it looks like all 8 popped so far. Almost time to throw them on the table... that should be exciting.

These are the DSD's we're getting ready to throw them on the table. We're not sure how to drain the water, we have the drain up high so it can reach the bottom of the cubes... are we just going to have to feed by hand? The roots aren't even poking out of the rock-wool yet. But 2 of the Biko II's have taken off. One of the Blue Satellite 2.2's has sprouted... The other two haven't sprouted yet but i think they're getting there. This is all i have for now.

Peace

Sorry if that doesnt make any sense but i ate a weed cookie and its just kicking in :canabis:

#2 Less is More....start with a weak nute solution and work ur way up..and...if u nute lock ....
#3 Flushing is ur Friend....Flush, flush, flush....and change solution every week or so..... good luck on ur first Hydro Grow

I'm starting my first hydro (ebb & flow) grow as well...your setup looks very similar to mine and I wish you luck. I have 5 sprouts that I started in rockwool and are now in hydroton on a table so i'll be following your progress. :)

Thanks for the advice primprimo

ChestrCopperpot, keep us posted on how your grows going... we've been having trouble figuring out how to drain the table completely? hopefully we'll have the issue resolved in the next few days so we can get this thing started. Good luck.

Hello Kushus... we're noobs at this too but i can tell you this..

We germed them in the rockwool cubes, they popped out after about 3 days some took a little longer. We never added water to the small cubes, we just made sure they were moist. We had them in a dome under the light, which created humidity and moisture and they were always moist.

We're using hydroton so we wont be putting our small cubes in bigger ones, i believe theres a rockwool growers thread you could look at for more information on that one

As for the flood schedule, from what ive read and what people tell me you basically do what you feel is best for your plants. Try something out and if you plants seem to be loving it keep going with it... or try adjusting for better results. We're going to be starting off with light waterings and feedings. As they get bigger we'll increase the amount of times we flood and the amount of nutes we'll use. Starting out we're going to flood 3 times a day with nothing but tap water. I'm still not sure how to get the table to drain completely, can anyone help with this? We want the table to fill up high enough to reach the bottom of the cubes but then how do we get it to drain completely?

Anyway hope that helped a little

So we've got them on the table, we're short 2 buckets so i think we're going to just throw some hydroton on the table and in-between the buckets and just put the cubes in that. The set up is pretty much all set to go. We have and intake fan to bring in some fresh air from outside the room, and we have the air from the closet being blown out through the carbon filter. I think we're going to add some superthrive to the rez. until we can ad nutes but i think we're still a few days away from that. So here's the table.

Closer.
Double Strawberry Diesel to the right.
Biko II front left bucket and middle bucket
Blue Satellite 2.2 back left

 hello Marley1. Updated pics coming soon. As for the sprouts... they're still sprouts. They're still very small, i think we made the mistake of putting them on the table too early, should have probably left them in the dome for a few more days... maybe a week. To add to the problems the ph of the water was 7. So we've lowered the ph, but it keeps rising. Trying to keep it just under 6. A few of the sprouts have some roots poking out of the sides and the bottom, but for the most part the rest do not. Noob mistakes i guess. Anyway we'll try and get an update soon... even though theres not much to see as of now.

Hey oaktree

Did you get your drain sorted out? How much water is left in the table after the flood cycle? Are you using a short flood connection to your pump (level with the bottom of your table) and a seperate overflow/drain?

What nutes are you planning to use? Since you're just starting out, if you haven't made that decision yet, I'd recommend the GH Flora Nova series. They're pretty much self-contained, and they're pH buffered, giving you a nice stable pH. They are also very concentrated, so a little goes a looooong way.

Buenos suerte, amigo!

Nice to have you hear wat it do, hopefully we'll be able to get this table figured out and be able to grow some nice plants.

 hey EatShitake, we've sorted out the draining issue, theres only water sitting in the recesses of the table after it drains. We have a separate overflow drain and we lowered the flood connection as low as possible, it seems to be draining nicely now. We're just using Generic hydro nutes from the hydro store, nothing too special. I've seen the flora nova i'll have to check it out.

Thanks for stopping in, hopefully i can get some new pictures up soon for you guys.

I've kind of been neglecting this thread, the grow is still at a stand still. ontheshelf put the sprouts back in the dome till they developed their first true set of leaves. They're developing roots nicely it just seems there hasn't been much vertical growth. Hopefully this will change shortly and we'll post some pics worthy of being on a thread haha. They pretty much just look like sprouts haha... sad i know.

Peace
