Why not round up the Canna-Char in my kitchen sink and put it in the garden.
I would think someone has done that, using Big Mama stalks from an outdoor grow.

In the seventies, where we were, whatever you could get was appreciated!
The earliest mex was pretty good, the quality that we got later, didn't seem as good. Yes, occasional feathers in with the seeds and stems. Then came the bricked, which could be good, but if it came into the country packed in car tires, well, not so good.
Anything 'new' would hit the receptors differently from what we were used to, so always seemed 'better'. Some Columbian and Panama (supposedly) came around in the 70's. Some thai stick (wasn't all that impressed with what we got). The vietnam weed, holy crap, put me under the covers shivering and wondering if i'd live to see the morning. By the early 80's i got some 'for real, verified' weed from Maui that was very good. Mostly stopped using during the 90's, kids and college. By the time that i got really ill in 2000, i decided to try my hand at growing meds, and that was a blast. Now, not growing 'again', which i hope will change, as it is/was my fave hobby. Now, as legal med person, can find a good variety at dispensaries, so not worth the risk to grow. sigh. Most of the weed at the dispensaries is under 16%...and i think that is ALL cannabinoids and terps combined. Flavors are pretty good.
Decided to take a short break to clear out receptors, which should help in appreciating the dispensary offerings. Holy crap, the price, tho. I know that what the state requires of the grow shops here, that the cost is probably understandable. But, good gods, the plant grows with little more than light and good dirt. No legal grow for even med folks, here.

Best I ever had was said to be Cambodian. It was $75 a 1/4 in the 70's in Canada but we were used to getting ripped off and I'm sure it was a lot cheaper in the US.This was when there was a big crackdown on weed and dry spots were common. Most people bought grams in tinfoil at $15-$20 in the smoking area at school,a lot of money then. It was only around once in my area. It was far better than the wrapped Thai we got which itself was great. The Cambodian was special because I still remember it now and I remember I smoked some after dinner when i bought it and couldn't sleep and stayed up and went to school. Cambodian,Thai,Hawaiian,Colombian Gold,then Red for best overall. There was talk about even better named Black African and Mash Macan but I never saw any.We bought baby food jars of wicked red and black oil for $600 and gram them out.There were no Indicas to smoke until the Dutch scene when the homegrown started. Good times, people used to do oil blasts in Bic pens when the teacher turned around or left the room,nobody ratted.

is an oil blast smoking off foil with a hollow pen? or some other devious method? Never had that in my day, all we had was weed. homegrown, Mexican green, mex brown, kind buds/the widow craze, and then occasionally some quality outdoor grown in corn fields in the Midwest. we were young, we were unsophisticated, we were satisfied with whatever got us f'ed up. never saw any real full on sativa connoisseur. it was all indica heavy crosses mostly in my mind. booze was the drug of choice, pills, oxy, hydro and Ritalin. then people started doing mdma and i said no. then they/my buddies moved on to mushrooms and that was cool, no issues there. coke, that was when friends became strangers. everyone became a full on asshole. peace all

Hi,yes it was tin foil in pen,they called them pen blasts,they sold them for 50 cents to a buck,joints were the same price. We had oil,red,blonde and black hash, weed, speed,coke,peyote buttons and San Pedro, window payne,microdot and blotter acid,shrooms,something called crystal T and speed which I never tried,and rush which was some solvent in a vial people inhaled and you could buy it legal at the head shops ,booze and bennies.

Ahh yes, amyl nitrate poppers, the um how do you say, sex drug of the pre AIDS, gay sexual liberation period. two very unfortunately, severely, badly timed coincidences. At least now people can live fairly normal lives and not be completely ostracized by the medical system and society for having a poorly understood, much feared and morally maligned infectious disease. One thing i was afraid of in my youth, well two things. drugs/before i found out weed and psychedelics were ok in teens, and aids. Aids terrified me to my core when i was very young, even though i knew logically i couldn't get it as i was not a iv drug user or any kind of user, and i was not sexually active, again at four years or so of age i would say my fear set in. The tv movies, " And the band played on" THE movie that scared the shit out of me! Then came aliens/ufo abduction, social anxiety, and the scariest thing i ever actually had to encounter or deal with, myself and all my intricate and ever expanding mental dysfunctions and inadequacies! PEACE.

huh, interesting note on the licorice. A lot of the Durban grown, or otherwise originating varieties, the SP?Kawalla Natal region, Drakensberg strains are said to have a licorice funk to them. Don't know, but i think it is in smell alone, not translated to the taste. The original pure sativa Durban. Before it got fucked with in Holland.well, one my favs was in a few of the loads circa 1978 maybe 79 definitely not 80 as I went on vacation for awhile in 80, but one of them was sooooooo blonde and smelled like licorice. Nicest gold Colombian I got, about a ton and that was it. All the next seemed mershy mersh in comparison but won't forget that blonde on blonde licorice smelling in rooster bags. Definitely built up some muscles in those days, no cocaine to destroy us all ( yet ). Just tons of weed, about the same in money and we sure ate well ....and then that was that

I still remember a weed from my country in the early 80's...Kalamata Red and a fresh charas from India in mid '90...
early 70’s in Ottawa I courted my wife with that stuff....
had plants from it growing out door..the most beautiful looking plants and leaf shape I have never seen since..
until the landlady squealed and we came home to see cops unscrewing our light bulbs..
can’t believe someone else remembers that weed.,

early 80's, christmas tree coming in from mexico to texas. big light green piney smelling buds with golden red hairs. started going out in 84 and skunk started taking over. been looking for something like it ever since.
1964 Mexican brick weed….$10 bucks a lid , $80-120 a kilo
first time we saw seedless cannabis was 1968 in Ojai California , some hippies brought a boatload of Michoacan to our little town….still $10 bux a lid
smoked some wonderful weed at Lime Kiln beach south of Big Sur state park…
all sativas back then
now the hash was another story , Lebanese blond and some darker Moroccan gawd was that schitt ever good
smoking some 2 year cured ECSD x Ogers this morning and even though it is 2023 , it feels like 1969 again…
