still got canned ones on the shelf in stores. was looking at them myself today while shopping. i think i'll go buy a few dozen cans tomorrow. i KNOW i can make cobbler with them, moonshine might be a bit trickier. never used canned ones for that before...

The Michigan harvest should be good. Their blueberries are fantastic this year. Small strawberry season up here though.

South Carolina produces more peaches than Georgia by far. The problem was the late season freeze in both states. 2019 was a late season freeze event but the temps did not stay below freezing for as many hours as it did this year.

Farming ain't easy.

you are correct as far as you (and the WaPo) went...but you stopped before mentioning that there are designated high-ranking officers that can launch a defensive strike (not FIRST strike) if the POTUS is not in touch for whatever reason, whether sleeping, hospitalized, dead, you name it. if inbound missiles are verified, there will be a defensive response whether the POTUS is available or not. some things cannot be waited on...notably, Trident submarine commanders could do so. all that is needed is the commander and his exec to agree. would it be an "authorized" strike? LOL! does it matter?
