Dubi, if you can master this technique for making brick, all of us will enjoy it
It is very simple and I think the best things in life are the most simple things and when it gets complicated and give headaches its not it
For me making cobs and sweating is a headache

The brick experience is different than the flower. It is not good for vaping but it is the best for smoking
It burns smoothly and evenly, it makes brick makes charcoal when burning and smoking it
In the 20th century the southamerican brick had a special feature: people were making pinners without filter. In SouthAmerica you smoke marihuana pure, you dont mix it with tobacco like in Europe
The 20th century colombian or paraguayan brick drip oil when you smoke it. This means when you smoke it it started producing oil which was slowly going down all the way to your fingers, it wasnt easy burning and then you got your fingers full of oil
I am not seeing this anymore today and I think it can be revived with the proper strain

Not every strain is better in brick form than as bad form, the same way not every strain is better as hash or concentrate than as flower.
We need to find the strains which are best for bricking and give that old oily spliff result.

New Caledonia girl 3, I kept the top shot for flower and the rest is brick, in a few hours I will give same treatment to New caledonia girl 4
Process is very simple:
In wet environment dry for some days in dry environment dry for a couple of days
And then proceed to clean all of the stems like this. If it is for selling everything goes in, but when it is for yourself you take the job to clean your weed for better results

A wise man said: beautiful flowers are for Valentines.
With your bare hands press all those beautiful flowers as shown below as much as you can. What is good with this method is you can do any quantity you wish, it always works. To find the top notch quality we will need to work a lot more because only airy fluffy sativas are suitable for this method. With chunky modern buds hybridized or not I dont like the result
NC 3 brick (2).jpeg

Then you go to your banana tree, the tree in this house is making babies I give to the neighbours and is making fruit as well
Banana tree.jpeg

Pick the bark, not the leaf. The whole trick is fresh bark. The bark is excellent. The inside is waxy, nothing sticks to it. When it is fresh, the bark cures together with the weed and it also shrinks, giving to the brick compactation
Banana bark.jpeg

Then you wrap your fresh weed in the banana bark like the pictures below and place it in greenhouse for a long time. I will test it in november
NC 3 brick (3).jpeg
NC 3 brick (4).jpeg

The result is same same as paraguayan brick. My neighbours who are paraguayan brick smokers cant believe it and love it, they prefer to smoke brick over buds big time
I hope you like it and try it. If you do I hope you can pull some amazing brick and magic back from under your sleeve with some experimentation

Did they suffer any stress at some point due to lack of water ? Are symptoms spreading to new leaves ? Are new leaves healthy ?
They nearly died due to lack of water during a heatwave as young seedlings, but they bounced back and were looking healthy. Symptoms have spread, as you can see in some photos here. It's going to be a bit of a limp to the finish line. They are smelling great, despite their condition.

they are really bouncing back just in time to produce good flowers@Ras Kali Rasta :) the symptoms are not showing in the newest bud leaf and flowers are well developed, finishing with great resins

I asked you about the waterings because such symptoms are typically found outdoors with waterings problems, i don't think is so much related with the soil, plants bounced back when watering problem was fixed it seems, hope they finish great!

Really nice looking and promising expression of the Caledonian 2 line, hybrid type
She is really enjoying there in mid flowering under your good cares @TexasTea your updates are much apprecitated!

Thanks for school us on the cob making @funkyhorse hope they turn out great for you! It's really interesting to learn on the different ways cannabis is consumed depending on the culture and geographical area. An uruguayan friend used to tell me stories about the paraguayan brick and how some lots were really good, Paraguayan genetics used to be highly related to Colombian sativa genetics, from red to golds. He liked to smoke those pure, tiny green joints you comment, but i never developed much taste for consuming flowers in that way, too much heat and oil.

Here in Europe we have a long tradition of Moroccan hash comsuming mixed with tobacco, that's how most people got started with cannabis here in the last decades of past century, that's why many Europeans also smoke flowers with tobacco, but since cannabis growing for flowers got spread much more this century in Europe there are more and more purists smoking only green, and vaping is quickly gaining followers, especialy among medical users and most knowledgeable cannabis lovers.

A clone taken in late flowering from the tall lanky pheno (i have some problems losting the labels, and i was thinking it was something else but i recognized her for the smell. New caledonia is very good for cloning in late flowering, both phenos rooted very fast

Yeah, that plant looks great but absolutely nothing like any of the NC I have grown out. They’ve all been very large with very fluffy/foxtail type buds.

I’m going to have to give the #2 a try sometime, the plant above looks freakin delicious!
Maybe hes growing that NC2 hybrid? Do you have any pics saved of the ones you grew? Id love to see a comparison. I plan to grow this indoor later this fall. The seeds i got are definitely the pure sativa

That’s what I’d guess it is, the version 2 or that pheno from the standard seed packs.
Either way it’s freaking beautiful and I want to try it 😂

I don’t have any current pics unfortunately. I just cut one down a few weeks ago and I’ve got almost 10oz of it curing up in bags right now though. Very feathery but also by far not my happiest plant I’ve grown. She was really hard to keep happy with N. Always slightly deficient but the slightest addition would curl the leaves. She smells so crazy amazing though. Super strong fresh Carrot smell while hanging. During trim it smelled like carrots and a slight candied fruit. Maybe a touch of some other root veg like a turnip when peeling it.

Well happy harvest! I actually find most ace sativas besides panama don't care for nitrogen. Thats why i always use biobloom at half strength

I don't have the New Caledonian but I kind of wish I ordered it now.

Dubi speculated on it's origins on the first page, as cannabis is not a native on New Caledonia. I just wanted to put in my 2c. I am Australian and in the late 70s we used to get cannabis from all over the world, the cream was Thai Stick, but we also got what was called Colombian compressed. In those days before indoor took off we relied on seasonal outdoor crops and there were weed shortages when this ran out, so lots of imports.

I read an article a few years ago about cocaine smuggling that occurs today and the fact that pacific islands are a stop off point between South America and here. As a consequence in some pacific nations cocaine is a big problem. There was also an Aussie seedbank that was selling cannabis from Vanuatu they labelled as "Mangobiche", supposedly a direct descendent of this smuggled cannabis from the 70s. So I think that New Caledonian is likely mostly, if not entirely, descended from Colombian. I suspect the same routes used now for cocaine were obviously the same in the past for cannabis.

Anyway, just a theory but here's the article that originally caught my eye.
