I had 2 spot spider mites from hell, which I eradicated from veg plants but ignored flower and were covered. Drying for week and heard Isopropyl and water 50/50 would kill on contact and evaporate quickly, Saw a post somewhere about them going to uppermost point, where hanging from while drying to find moisture. I looked and they were there. Only want to spray there but obviously will hit bud.

Any thoughts?

Trichs will get dissolved by alcohol so if not totally necessary I would not spray anything.
That was what I was afraid of. Have thought of quickly going from very warm to freezing a few times over several days. Was thinking of No Pest Strips, but just saw someone said not to do withing 7 days of harvest. Not sure if there is any science behind that, since I could cure for a month.

These mites can be removed manually every day to keep their population under control. They suck leaves so swiping them with fingers will kill some mites, not all but they hopefully won't get above a critical number.
Now at this stage you just use your fingers, take time and patience to kill those suckers :)

Maybe use a vacuum cleaner attachment to suck the fkers off...bit of spider porn...
Will try that to get numbers down
I might go with repeated use of Safer's soap followed by a water rinse with another rinse after harvest.
Alcohol would not be appropriate this close to harvest.
Already hanging for 10 days. Isn't washing going to be bad for trichomes?? Had to harvest early without flushing due to bud rot from spraying for mites late in flower. I really wish they had not ruined this site with new interface. Have no way to remove what is below.

That is great for clones and six inch plants. Actually at that size can just invert and drown several times. Issue is packed 4 X 8 tent with SCROG. Can not even get bottom of leaves with fogger. All veg plants are clean, but ones going into flower soon are at 60F and hoping they do not come back when temps go up. A-hole selling clones on strainly, knowingly sending out clones with pesticide resistant 2 spot spider mites for over a year ruined entire grow, and wasted 100's of hours and more money in products and foggers than buying from most expensive seller.

Have washed plants with dilute hydrogen peroxide, but that is something done
right at or just after harvesting.

Have read that H2O2 will dissolve spider mites and eggs, but see no science or concensus to back it. That was something else I was considering spraying.

Think you'll have to stop after this grow and do a major cleanup
with a short grow break. Ongoing grow when pests invade only
cause trouble down the road. Next grow, start with preventatives
so pests don't even try anything.
I have spent so much, and spent hundreds of hours researching. UVC bulb for 10 minutes every few days is supposed to work. I bought on Amazon, installed and used in closed tent a few times and winds up it was dead bulb. Did not look in since horrible for eyes. New bulb due this week. Chrysanthemum is supposed to attract, so planning on using them.

Have not seen any on veg plants in months, but assumed flower was safe, till I saw webs. Plan on using using bug bombs in room before using again. Surprised they do not sell a trap to attract and kill them.

What a true POS that seller is. Had about a dozen people message me that bought same clone from same person and got them.

No pest strips are supposed to work, but the warnings scare the hell out of me. Basically says do not use in a house. Will have to use them for 2 weeks, above 75F to make sure.

Could also drench room with Eagle 20 before moving plants in.

Not sure if you’ve researched Dr Zymes eliminator. It’s safe to use in flower and says it kills mites not specifically spider mites (????)

I had aphids on my first outdoor sativa grow this summer (RSCO Kumaoni) and one female was decimated until I sprayed her on schedule exactly as directed. Can be used as a soil drench as well. Works great on fungus gnats as well (I’m using living soil right now) it has to be used as stated but it does work. Had one almost finished flowering I tried H2O2 ladybugs a power washer on low 40 degree nozzle…….nothing stopped them but Dr Zymes I think it’s very hard to unsee the little _______after you see them under a loupe all over those beautiful buds. Not sure if this is aesthetics or live mites (need a nap) my bad if so. Good luck

In the wild spider mites will mass migrate from wheat fields or grassy hay fields when they are harvested/ cut. If there is a nearby soybean field they will invade that and cause a lot of damage if it is a droughty year or if your plants are stressed for any reason, they seek out stressed plants. Your setup will be the same as far as migrating. They will likely already be on the move looking for other food sources even though you see some still on the harvested plants. They also thrive in warm weather, that is when they reproduce the fastest. When we get them in soybeans we always hope for rain and cooler temps as it will bring on a fungus that naturally kills them. If you can't clean down and wait it out a couple of weeks then you will likely want to plan on a spray program for what you have left.

I have used isopropyl and water to kill mealy bugs on house plants. It works for them but it takes multiple applications spread about a week apart. I agree with the others though about the concern of dissolving trichomes though, but it might be an option in veg.

Spider mites hate high humidity. So having them is an indicator that your room air is too dry. In flower I would only use predator mites (a lot of them) and maybe humidifier depending on the denseness of the flowers.

I was wondering how to clean a vacuum, after removing the mites?

We have ongoing bug problems. Canola fields just shoot out flea beetles at/after harvest. They don't seem to get inside the house, but they hit my gardens HARD at grain harvest time. Took out my kale in what seemed like a day, but the kale came back from the root really well.

Aphids are in the house every time that the weather warms, i think that they came in from down south with the house. I read that getting hit with sugar kills them. So, maybe the molasses in the water has helped. I'll be spraying the tree outside and maybe the outside perimeter of the house with sugar water in the spring to see if that helps.
