Yeah, I had couple oz of what goes around as Drawoh it was maybe one pheno out of it

It was a more fast resinous pheno that is out there

I think there are many phenos...The selection is where its at

Its been modernized by indoor cultivation and commercial selection

It holds something special

Akbb tells in his potcast interview it was his first smoke

He thinks he found stuff thats close Its Chocolope is his favorite

Its worth the hunt..... experience the original Its valuable

Knowing what its suppose to be like.....Its not that many people smoked these imports

30 years of indoor:microwave:

AK BEAN BRAINS CHOC THAI?!

You mean the gentleman with 73 males in 4 years of work? Guy showed up a few years ago and had Big Skunk originals and that was it. Where are we? Is this the same forum where Nspecta, Tom Hill, Mustafunk and others held court? And this is the best you guys are coming with these days? Good grief.

Drawohs chocolare Thai / Billygoat same source - won in an auction by howie - same source DNA used for the chocolope. Get your crap together fellas. And Chocolope is half c99 via “cannalope haze” - that’s why you’re seeing melon.

Old news. Prob on this forum 100 times over. Speaking of which - how did we get the servers back from the feds after they took the domains and the Servers for use in court?
Weird.

But what do I know; just the lowly villain hack of the canna scene.

ICMag servers were never seized. You must be thinking of Overgrow.

AKBB doesn't seem to sell the Chocolate Thai anymore. But a couple of other breeders do. They all trace back to this one pack bought in some auction lol. Well, thank goodness and Drawoh for that pack..

Yeah, its a nice open source cultivar

And if selected to the sativa side and BX with some red thai from RSC you might just have something

That is one place the original chocolate Thai may reside and be unlocked thru Selection

The flavors and other characteristics like leaves and plant structure

Get down to the real chocolate Thai

The Drawoh is apparently out of 1970s brick chocolate Thai

Its been commercialized a bit.....People want to bring it back to sativa roots

Im all for that!:smokeit:

likely 2 different things id say ,
no evidence to say they are related at all ,
buddha , aka buddha sticks , were not what the americans describe what they called chocolate thai ,
apparently looking like a cow paddy according to tom hill who says he saw a fair bit of it ,
i wonder if it was from laos or thailand , though i guess that doesnt matter , south east asia still ...
these things are hard to piece together as folks smuggling , dealing etc , tend to lie to protect their sources ,
might have come from southern america and not asia at all , none of us would know unless we were involved ....

Ive heard that too, that it could have been a renamed Mexi, or just Thai that was commercially grown/outcrossed in Mexico.

Have you ever grown them to know the difference Wally ?

They dont look or smell nothing like south America lines like Colombians.

The plant would go from green to brown as the plant was hung to dry in a matter of days giving you the classic smell and taste.

I have never grown a Laos but will and it will be interesting to compare it to the different Thai lines i have grown.

It would have been compressed to look like a cow paddy.

ive grown the seed from the thai sticks ,
i didnt come across anything chocolate from that stuff though ,

i cant say i have grown what the americans call choc thai since im not sure we even got it in oz ,
having said that , i did grow something once , un named from local seed that dried brown and had an easter egg like chocolate aroma about it ,
i probably have a photo , i assumed it was thai ,
but it was just an assumption ...

as far as i know what tom talked about and called choc thai was compressed ....

All the different Thai lines i grew apart from the one i grow now would go from green to brown as the plant dyed the one i have now cures brown.

I wouldn't call it a chocklet smell but more that earthy tobacco spicy type smell you got in that Buddha sticks and in the compressed lots that were very nice pre 85 imports.

what was this compressed weed you got like , was it a square ?
we got heaps of it down south from you in the early 90s ,

im 100 % sure it was the same stuff i got when i went to thailand 20 years later ,
exact same smell and look ,
it was laos brick ...

Do you mean the 80s Wally or the 90s ?

The last Thai imports i saw was in 85 or 86 and it was complete rubbish it had a short lived mild high at best after that we never saw any more Thai imported in.

The same year a close friend that traveled to Thailand almost monthly for work he told me the Thai was really good still in Bangkok and in Thailand so we got him to source the best he could from his friends in Thailand.

We still had Thai lines here but we could see the writing on the wall imports were now over.

yes in the 90s ,
we didnt know where it was imported from ,
but like i said , it was exactly a match for the laos brick i saw in 2011 in thailand,

we had imports appearing still back then where i lived ,
heaps of mujahideen hash arrived around then or not long after also ,

the brick weed wasnt near as good as the thai we got in the early 80s ,
but was ok ... i sweated some as i thought it was a bit dry ,
and it did seem to improve it and was quite good then ...

@hempy

The Haze Whisperer
Yea the last good Thai imports i saw was 84/85 after that i saw one more import and it was complete rubbish.

Hash was into into the early 90s and it was real good to.

I know chocolate Thai very well it was available on the East Coast of USA primarily in 1981 in 1982 and it came in vacuum packed kilo allotments it was various shades of brown and gold and it was slightly seeded extremely strong sticky and narcotic
Yup. That's when I was puffing on it in LA. Lasted till about 84/85. One of my all-time favorites.
