And do you vent into your attic or through your attic and out of the house?

Trying to decide whether this is an option for me.

During the Winter the indoor vented heat can be used inside the house to save on electric heating bills. During Spring, Summer, and Fall no need for any venting, I just grow a few plants outdoors.

"Indoor Summer Grows" where it gets very hot in the Summer can cause problems on the electric grid and shouldn't even be done at all.

I will be two years behind after we get our house back. In the Maritimes I forgo growing from end of May to end of Aug, because of the climate (heat and RH), to hard to maintain. But once your home is stabilized (temp and RH) wise), one should be good to go. (fingers crossed). I believe I will be able to pull 3 grows. One thing confirmed by the RCMP (the night of the fire), vegging plants are not part of the "4 plants" in flower. I guess I will find out. TBS, on paper I should be good to go, as they claim our new home will be equivalent to an R5 or R6K. Big difference when a house is built to code (not minimal code), as ours and the entire neighbourhood were. I had one dude that (contractor of some sort) who stated the house was to code. Excuse me, I have been bldg shit since '68 with my father. It might be code, but it is minimal code. His reply, it is still "code". I never saw him again.

2x4" construction (code is 16" OC) not the permissible 24" OC, and what is that brace in the corner WTF over. That is tentest on the exterior wall, not 1x6" or sheeting. or,

The chimney is 90 degrees out of wack. They cut a roof truss to accommodate it. It can be done properly, they simply took the cheap way out. That is not how you frame shit.There's more, much more but I highjacked (inadvertently) this thread long enough. Its amazing what one finds when you strip the place down

I vent to the attic but once it stays below freezing for any amount of time I switch to out the side of the wall. Not an issue as long as the attic has good ventilation and no ice forms. But in the dead of winter here in Illinois it will make a mess in the attic.

When I lived in Ohio I vented from my basement grow room into the garage. Awesome because in the Winter I had a heated garage. If you ever lived where it's cold, you know a heated garage is sweet .

No issues with mold? A lot of water runs through the tents. I like it going outside.

I never had issues with mold in Ohio. The Winters are dry as hell because the furnace runs all the time and Summers are always dehumidified by the A/C. I have vented into attics, closed ceilings and wall stud spaces and never had an issue with any of them. YMMV.

My final system was exhausting into the return ducts of the HVAC system. With the carbon filter working, this was my best solution.

I don't vent at all, now. I just leave the tent door open all the time.

The same here. I have to add a humidifier in the winter. Without it, rh can be in the teens.

i've vented to the attic my whole 'career' as it were,but i'm in uk and the attics here have airflow from the soffetts in the roof, so never had any mold issues

It's not so much a mold issue as it is water in the insulation. Last winter I went up and looked for the first time when it was really cold and there was frost all on the underside of the roof. Icicles over where the vent was.

15F out this morning and my exhaust going out through the wall is blowing a plume of condensate. Should be quite noticeable when it gets really cold out. Hope the neighbors aren't too curious.

The exhaust is constant at a low speed until it hit's the humidty trigger then ramps up to half speed. That's when yu can see the plume.

Yah, i still think that venting shower steam into an attic is comparable to how the ski areas make snow. To me, wet air needs to go outdoors.

I vented to the roof before untill the window cleaner said your roof vents make a wooshhh when I’m up there
then nextdoor had their roof repaired and guess what knock knock “hey bud I thaight that vent was your neighbours I think I poked your ducting off “

Wet insulation is useless. Vent elsewhere or risk problems.

Started up a little something. Had my sweet inline in the attic and when I turned it on... it had to break free from ice!! Condensation/hot air was making it's way up and out on it's own.
I'm basically having to rework some things now even though I have active blower pushing attic air outside, I don't feel it has enough capacity for large all at once volumes. I'm gonna let things passively exit into the attic for now, till I can come up with a slightly different idea.
You can't underestimate the condensation. Water is a disaster and plants release a LOT of it.
