3 panama red clones, test run in coco & autopots

How many times per day are you feeding OZZ_? Have you seen any magnesium deficiency with your plants? I’ve been running into some issues with a super malawi haze in coco under leds, but yours are looking great. They also don’t look like they have any nute burn, which is encouraging me to up my EC. Ace recommends “high levels of nutrients” for both Panama and SMH, and I wasn’t sure exactly how high that meant.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of this run, it seems like you really have things figured out.

The panama breeders pack pheno hunt AND the seed run were grown in soil and hand watered.

The three panama red clones I’m running now are in the autopots in coco. Since these are in autopots they have continuous feeding, constant access to water and nutrients solution. In the autopots I’m running about 1.9-2.0 EC

Having no issues whatsoever. No magnesium issues, no tip burn … they are in perfect health.

On the breeders pack pheno hunt that were in soil with different nutes (organic bio canna nutes) I was good at 1.5 EC…. But when I pushed up to 1.8 I started seeing burn so backed off again to 1.5 EC to finish them out. I had those plants setup on Blumats with RO and cal mag only for continuous watering, but then would top water 3-4 times a week with the liquid biocanna nutes.

The seed run in soil was fed lighter liquid feeds at around 1.1-1.3 with a top dressing here or there of seabird and bat guanos … they did have some deficiencies towards the end … but not terribly bad. They probably could have used more food. They are getting fed/watered by hand, on an every other day schedule since they are in soil.

That definitely helps, thanks for all that info. It'll be interesting to see if you note any differences in the qualities of the flower (between the soil and coco plants) once you've finished this run.

I'll definitely be bumping my EC based on your experiences so far. Another question, when you said "maxi grow and maxi bloom @ 1 tsp per gallon (1/3 maxigrow, 2/3 maxi bloom)" in your first post, did you mean 1 teaspoon total per gallon made up of 1/3tsp. maxigrow and 2/3tsp. maxibloom? Or am I misinterpreting?

Yes and no. If I’m only making up one gallon of nutrient solution for whatever reason then that is the route I would go with. Or something similar but you’ve got the right idea

… but since im using the autopots, and I have the 12 gallon reservoir…. What im doing at *current stage of growth* …. is filling the reservoir with 11 gallons of solution at a time (which lasts about a week with these three plants). First I fill up the res with 10 gallons of plain RO water. No nutes at all just straight RO water. Then I mix up one more gallon of RO water and since I’m in week 3 of flower, I put 8 teaspoons of maxi bloom and 3 teaspoons of maxigrow, mix it up then add to the res. Add the hydroguard, silica, cal mag, SLF-100 and PH up to 5.5/5.6 ph …. All added directly to the res. As flowering continues on I’ll slowly eliminate the maxigrow and convert over to 100% maxibloom

When I start veg I use all maxigrow. As I get close to flip I start doing 2/3 grow to 1/3 bloom. Then I Flip them…. Then I start changing the ratio towards bloom. If that makes sense??

Right now I’m in week 3 of flower and using 2/3rds bloom 1/3 grow and I’ll stay here until week 6ish since these clones run 10 weeks. Then I’ll go all bloom, then flush.

The reason for all this is because I’ve heard growers say to use only maxi bloom the whole way, but then I’ve also heard growers say they get yellowing by using only the bloom so I’ve decided to keep the grow in there through stretch. Come to think of it maybe this is why I had such a huge amount of stretch also.

In the future… maybe I’ll play with the ratios and see if maybe bloom only will reduce that without yellowing. Always a work in progress my friend, experiment - adapt - progress.

Hey hey!!! Loving the new forum!!

Here are some pics from Day 1 week 5

Plant #1 was completely over growing the entire tent. I was able to contain her by bending and pinching but it was so crammed in there I decided to send her off to a buddy to be finished elsewhere.

The main purpose of this grow was to learn how to grow in coco utilizing the Autopots and so far it’s served that purpose perfectly.

So, we are down to panama #2 and panama #3.

Panama #2 is progressing beautifully. She’s stacking like a champ and is getting quite frosty also. From what I’ve seen from last time I grew her I’ll plan on taking her down at week 10. So 5 more weeks to go.

Plant # 3 is a little slower but has some nice long colas

No problem Dubi and thanks for the kind words! I’ve been spamming the panama thread instead with my updated pics but I’m very happy with how this run turned out, it was better than ever!

Also! I will catch up in the sticky panama thread on the differences between the pheno types and differences in the growing styles I have now grown then in. I have run them almost for an entire year now at this point. 3 grows with the same 3 clones, and a 27 plant seed run, as well as pollinating an original haze S1 with the mixed male panama pollen.

I will make sure to post up a final post in the sticky thread, commenting on all the phenos after I dry and cure this harvest and I’ve had a chance to smoke test it, as it is the best harvest yet
