CBD is Dangerous…????

I ended up on one or two mailing lists after purchasing something from these guys, most of the stuff the endorse is bollocks and just now I discovered this in my inbox and decided to share it:

“Got pain? Use CBD.”

Agh...

That advice pisses me off.

I hate it because…

CBD is being sold everywhere like it’s a miracle or cure-all.

They claim it’s...

Pain relieving, appetite suppressing, depression eliminating, cancer-curing and immune-system fortifying…

It’s in everything: creams, oils, rubs, coffees, and even beer…

But the truth is…

Not only does CBD not work for pain…

But it also can be dangerous.

In fact, Harvard recently issued a warning about CBD.

They said the science on CBD doesn’t match the marketing…

In fact, they also said if you are taking blood thinners or heart medications, it could cause severe complications or even death.

But there’s good news...

There is actually a SAFE, and all natural way to eliminate your pain.
  • It’s legal.
  • It won’t get you high.
  • It’s cheap.
  • Shoot, it’s even FDA approved.
Pro athletes have been using this secret substance for over 30 years.

If you have...

Swelling
Muscle soreness
Cramps
And inflammation

Any thoughts on this guys?

Yes, it is 100% true CBD can be dangerous for those taking blood thinners and heart medication. I know because I had to take my Dad to the hospital, shortly after taking CBD capsules.

Just like any supplement, please talk to your doctor before starting to take CBD. Especially if you are on blood thinners.

that´s good to know thanks. What happens exactly if a person is on blood thinners already? does the CBD thin the blood even more?

Is cannabidiol safe?

"Side effects of CBD include nausea, fatigue and irritability. CBD can increase the level in your blood of the blood thinner coumadin, and it can raise levels of certain other medications in your blood by the exact same mechanism that grapefruit juice does. A significant safety concern with CBD is that it is primarily marketed and sold as a supplement, not a medication. Currently, the FDA does not regulate the safety and purity of dietary supplements. So you cannot know for sure that the product you buy has active ingredients at the dose listed on the label. In addition, the product may contain other (unknown) elements. We also don’t know the most effective therapeutic dose of CBD for any particular medical condition."

Believe anything that comes from Harvaard at your own risk.

Is that epsom salts the hands are soaking in?

I think the article did a good job laying out the benefits and concerns of CBD right now. flylowgethigh Im not sure why you have a problem with Harvard? I'm curious which research institutions you hold in higher esteem? If you have a source for scientific info that's better than Harvard, I would be interested in looking at it.

Well I have personal experience with CBD and blood thinners, like I said my father had a trip back to the hospital because of the interaction. Harvard is consistently near the front of research in medicine... I have my problems with the institution (nepotism is a problem there), but discounting all research or articles that come out of there is foolish IMO. Im not sure if this is anti-intellectualism rearing its ugly head or some other issue that people have.

Ignorance makes many things dangerous, and CBD mixed with big pharma is not something you want to do lightly. Also, nearly all of the "CBD products" I've seen for sale are contaminated with lots of non-CBD ingredients. If you're going to use CBD, I strongly recommend getting pure extract from one of the multiple reputable sellers available now.

"Side effects of CBD include nausea, fatigue and irritability." I'd like to know what messed up foods or issues people have where the effects of CBD cause those symptoms. Healing crisis comes to mind. lol

CBD by itself didn't do diddly for me, including the pure extracts. Now CBD laden cannabis, well that's a different story. I used Harlequin, AC/DC, and Dutch Treat. Next run I'll be growing Ringo's gift and Harle Tsu. Going on 4 yrs no issues. If you are legal where you are from, grow your own medicine :tiphat:

Im going to throw a few Erdpurt plants outside this summer... never grown a 1:1 CBD strain. Hoping I can finish it at my latitude. I have only grown autos outdoors so far. Hoping for the best. ;)

I think CBD has some obvious medical benefits, but just like anything, people should educate themselves before putting it in their bodies. Just because it has an interaction with a common blood thinner does not take away from all the other great things about it, I just want people to be aware.

I was in an Asterra Labs Harvard Med Center study winter before last. NO evidence of being dangerous, no liver problems they were researching. Unless you grow with high metal supplemental or regular feeding, it's not a problem. Grow ORGANIC you won't have issues.

I'm on Coumadin for life. When smoking I take a half (2.5 mg) more of Warfarin every 3rd day to maintain 2.5 INR. If doing tinctures or eating it raises the INR.

Love Erdpurt. Grow em great!!

There is always two ways to frame something.
1. CBD is dangerous when...
or
2. Blood thinners are dangerous when......
I'll go with number 2 because the body produces cbd. It does not produce the lab made thinners that don't treat causes but mask symptoms.
Usually the effect of a chronic poor diet. So no, CBD is not dangerous. Blood thinners are dangerous.

CBD is not hazardous to health if used wisely. I use a large number of CBD products and am amazed at their safety and effectiveness. I choose only the best products with a high quality composition and this benefits my body. I bought a recently and was able to get rid of back and neck pain thanks to this. it is more effective than expensive drugs

Interesting thread. I’ve ordered these seeds: https://dutch-passion.com/en/cannabis-seeds/cbd-charlottes-angel and will be doing an outdoor grow. My first foray into the world of CBD. Am I ever hopeful... I’ve been on blood thinners a long time and am glad to see this info as I will discuss with docs. Honestly though... I don’t think many doctors either agree or are aware of this. I’ve seen many different docs in different specialties last two years and not one has mentioned this to me. They were all made aware I was on 12mg Coumadin daily and use recreationally. THC at least doesn’t seem to afffect INR for me in the slightest.

Im wondering if CBD interacts with all thinners such as Xarelto. The newer thinners act on a different mechanism than Coumadin according to my docs.
