Strains for headaches?

Hey does anyone smoke anything that seems to do wonders for headaches? I've never had the pleasure of smoking a strain that made my headache better, actually everything I've smoked just made it worse. Makes me feel high and confused and pained in the brain lol. Any suggestions?

right now im smoking citral from nirvana its great for headaches,appatite,sore muscles,stomach aches etc.... pretty much everything .its potent but not heavy
like most indicas even the sativa pheno is great for headaches.

i smoke a heavy indica for headaches and it usually knocks it out. something like black domina, sensi star or afghan.

Mmm all sounds good, I'm so sick of smoking this bag seed shit. It does nothing more than a strong buzz for me now. Never was a surprise to begin with. I need some better stuff, I hate weed that gets boring, I need some intense stuff . Can't wait until my next harvest. It should be a true treat. I will look into some of the strains suggested here though .

Remember to drink water. Up to 1.5L a day is you live in a hot area. Water helps alot on headaches. But if get em anyway, try Mandala' Sadhu. Or all of their strains.. Theyre all kinda medicinal.

Personally i've never found cannabis to help with headaches, and actually i find that the process of smoking inflames it at least initially.

i am notorious for my migranes....i've had these severe headaches since age 12 and the main thing cannabis helps with is the nausea associated with them.....

a moderate headache or an average everyday mild headache i would recommend a heavy indica like Deep Chunk, LUI, trainwreck, etc.....also you might want to try a concentrated cannabis product like kief for your headaches.....

Pheno: you might not have much headache relief with all those c99 crosses, am i right that it is better to stay away from the racy, heart-pounding sativa strains?

guineapig well I dont grow or smoke very many indica-dominant strains, usually smoking Sour Diesel or Hazes or C99 like you mentioned. But it seems everyone who's posted in this thread has recommended heavy indicas so maybe there's some merit to that. I dont get headaches very often though so its not something ive done much experimenting with, but ill have a Northern Light and an ICE ready for harvest in just over a month so i'll keep some of that aside

I would also suggest an ice pack for that giant pecker your sporting,maybe the swelling will go down and the blood will flow thru your brain better!!

I think strains effect people differently so you just have to find what works best for you. I have severe migraines almost every week and the strain I've found to work best for me is Trainwreck taken down when the trichs are cloudy. It doesn't take the pain away fully but it makes them more barable. I hope you find somthing that suits your needs.

Sooo that means Blueberry would work? That's a pretty dominant Indica. I don't get headaches often, it's just that when I do.. they suck and I want to get rid of it immediately. It usually only happens when I'm severely stressed for a long period of time.

Advice from above posters about consuming plenty of water is really important. Also the kief advice is pretty solid, just make sure you dont smoke too much kief with green plant matter it seems to make it worse. Just personal experiance.

One thing I've noticed. I'm an old geezer and don't smoke all the time like I did when younger. When I go more than a week or two without a smoke I start getting headaches now and then. If I smoke a couple times a week I hardly ever seem to get any headaches.

I always thought when people stopped smoking things would happen more often and severe because the body was so used to the weed taking care of all the problems. But Bob I'm young and I also have that same thing happen to me when ever I stop for a while lol.

I have to say Trainwreck also. Genius was pretty good too so maybe Apollo 11. Trainwreck was the way for me and my headaches have landed me in the emergency room more than once. Rolanterroy will be remaking his Cherry Thunderfuk and I have high hopes for that one. It's way more potent than Trainwreck or Bubba.

I only started smoking about two years ago for relief from my migraines. One possible cause of migraines is restricted blood flow in the brain. Many varieties of cannabis dilate the blood vessels causing red eyes, and increased blood flow. Lucky for me this restricted blood flow seems to be the cause of my headaches but everyone is different. Toking about twice a week has taken my migraines from one every three weeks or so to one every six months. If my eyes are red then it's working. It doesn't help though when I actually have a headache, but more as a preventative. There are several old threads about this in the Medical Marijuana forum. Peace

It does seem to be very good at preventing them. I forgot that Romulan was also very good for my headaches.
