69 was a peak year ,,,,as a haze fan i couldnt care less on the year the seeds came from only the effect and nevilles crosses were as strong as anything out there im getting more an more keen to try a good nh knowing haze 5 so well i can really see it being super potent bred back to the haze and probly more to my liking high wise,,you have any haze preferances donald as to what you like to smoke/grow ?i know you like mango nh

i understand harvest ,
but i think its important to get history correct too ,
if the guy who made and sold these seeds said they are ones he made after 76 ,
because there were no others , then we have to accept that as the truth imo .....

i liked the high from the c5 cut we grew ,
and as you mentioned the mango haze ,
i crossed mango haze to laos (super laos) and really liked that too ,
its very popular where i live ,, lovely sweet , sticky sativa ,
i didnt really like nevils haze that much , it was potent , but not pleasant,
id still grow/toke it , but wouldnt be one id reach for very often ....

That's helpful information...thanks. Star Crash (now Flower Power) sent me some seeds from the skinny leaf contest and I like to know as much as I can about the line's lineage, as I'm sure you understand. So these are Original Haze from Seedsman stock in the 1990s? I like how you distinguished the lines by flavor/aroma. What kind of numbers were you selecting amongst? Any other details would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes was Original Seedsman.
40 plants, 43 seeds.
The skinny leaf contest Haze is only a slice of my incense line.
Fathered by my incense male with similar terps to Haze A. Mothered by a female that is 100% related to SamS peppery mother.
But is not the fasciated pepper mother SamS asked me samples for DNA testing.

Pepper is the most common smell in Seedsman Haze.
And it does taste exactly like Melegueta Pepper, also called grains of paradise or Guinea pepepr.
Did report this 5 years ago.
And has been confirmed in many grows from my Seedman seeds and via MadMac.
Everybody who grows OH or is interested can buy/order that pepper and will know what the pepper smell of OH is . :)

Kerala i have grown years ago was also very much on the pepper side, with a lime note in the smell but not so much in the taste, even after curing

Donald Mallard in that room under 4K HPS it’s 2 gallon containers of coco coir is all that’s required…Watered and fed once per 24 hours with 1/2 strength nutes (canna for coco formula A&B + Cal Mag )

im with you totally on correct history but the divisions within the hazers in such a smallgroup is painful to watch some like nevile some sam some tom me im greedy i want it all at least to make my own judgements on what floats my boat ,,such great growers amongst you would be a strong unit working together ,,anyway lol mango haze x laos sounds lovely sweet an sticky is how i like it to ,, i hear you on the nh that what i was trying to say about the old nl5 x haze cant deny the power but pleasant not so much the high was like the advert used to say opposites collide etc

I have a question for hazeheads about node symmetry. Is NLD Haze usually symmetrical with node growth, or does it lend to unsymetrical nodes, where only one fan leaf and branch develop, versus two? Am I smoking too much and imagining

I think from seed it doesn’t matter nld or bld main branches usually have symmetrical growth but than branches of that main branches grow unsymmetrical just like clones 🤷🏻‍♂️

I need to try out coco media. Have used flood and drain with hydroton and rock wool, promix, organic soil etc. but have yet to try coco. You get really nice AAAA+ results.

the stuff ive seen nevil write about sam, it s no wonder the nevil fans are as they are ,
if u read the thread nevil has on mns you ll see him slagging off about sam over and over ,

both guys have had good input , but some bits were a bit childish ,, especially what was written on mns,
this is what spawned the divisions in the first place im sure harvest ...
i think its a bit sad and unprofessional...

i just want the truth , and some of the people after sam didnt know the truth to tell,
so shit got made up and repeated by groupies ,
and here we are still trying to mop it up ...
(particularly the haze origin stories)

i definitely like some of the stuff that came from nevils and shanti s breeding ,
no doubt about it , they had some great stock to work with and put out some great strains as a result ,
nevil had a lot of trouble giving sam any credit for anything though ,
when ever the chance arose he actually did the opposite ...
credit where credit is due , they both gave the community some great stuff to work with and grow ,
if folks just sought out the truth rather than being divisive, everyone would likely get on better ...

So far im not seeing any differences between THH and this THH X P41 hybrid. There might be a bit faster flowering going on but I haven't been paying attention to that.. This is 57 days.. She is super small.. Only 1x stretch max. She's about 4' tall. THH was not a tall plant, just super shaggy.. I'll let this plant go until done or dead. whichever comes 1st lol. There were 2 males. I put 1 into flower to collect pollen. The last of the seeds are being popped. I only got 11 good seeds...

Beauties. Those are the grains of paradise leaners?

Absolutely not. Also very different from the purple OT1 Hazes.
This pheno is more direction spices, cinnamon or so...... very complex with a deep euphoric psychedelic effect.
And had another one, light green with red hues that was very smiliar to the best columbian red I did ever smoke in the 90s. With a touch of Jack herer. The good one of the 90s too.
Confirmed also by another person who did grow the same cross.
Seedsman x THH should be great too!
They are all great.

Grains of paradise is from Seedsman. SamS mother "he liked and used a lot" must have been full grains of paradise.
The best Haze hybrids from SamS often had pepper reported in the 2000s.
Might be also possible to find it in THH, Todds or OT1. I have no clue.
That is why I recommend to buy grains of paradise, since it can useful as orientation.

Gets puprle also under HPS and very high temps. Is dark geen until the last 2 weeks, then it turns full purple or what ever color that is.

In the never ending cold War of nevil vs sam neutral first hand info is tough to find. StEven hager can provide an accurate time line. There is no way the seeds nevil bought from sam were repros made in Holland. Whatevwr sam sold nevil was irreplaceable genetic material. One progenitor of haze carries an allele coding for cytochrome p450 enzymes which create monterpenols instead of monoterpenes. Here are some quotes from article and link for his blog.

The never ending cold War of nevil vs sam :D

That quote cracked me up.

What most fail to get is Nevil was not online and never posted on any forum until he logged into Mr Nice in 2010 i think it was so it was really Sam doing all the fighting and posting.

When Nevil logged in and came on line he told his side of the story and invited Sam to come and publicly post and sort this out publicly the invite was ignored.

Nevil was an open book he answered all questions he was asked.
