hey guys i m ordering soon so i need help asap....

i m getting a 4x4 hydro hut.
will a can filter 33 be enough, or will i need to get the can66 filter????

also will a 6inch can fan be enough to pull an effective air rate in the filter and be able to cool down the 600watt light a bit??? or should i go with a vortex???

only reason i dunno about the vortex is it is said to be loud and IF the canfan would work AND not be as loud i would pick that up insted!

!!! help what fan should i go with the 6"canfan or the 6'vortex? and what filter then can33 or can66\\\\\\\\\\\??????? HELP a grower out! :bashhead:

Hi!

Hi!

I run same tent size w/600HPS in adjust-a-wing. And I have an rvk-125mm and a 225m^3/h carbon filter for extraction, wich is too weak imo. (I'll upgrade to a can366 with an RVK 160 A1 fibre glass fan, and use the 125 for the 250veg closet and direct it straight outdoors. -I may even be able to get a cooled 400 in the room as well, and use this for hazes in my new planned system )

It's noisy at full speed in the summer but will run acceptably quiet when outdoor temps (ambient room temp drops.) (I also have 120w tube lights and another 250MH}

PS! I think iso-ducting may reduce noise. Try using a boxed extractor of more power than you need and also use dampers/mufflers for at least 1m length at each side of the fan unit. (Make sure all vibration is caught by padding/flexi cords/etc and by using rigid smooth pvc channels for the air you may reduse noise further. (sOME DIFFUSER SCREENING AT EXIT HOLE WILL ALSO HELP MUFFLE THE AIR-SOUND)

a 6 inch fan should be fine for a 4x4 grow hut. carbon filters are rated by cfm so get the one that matches your fan.

if you keep the area outside your grow hut cooler then the inside of the grow hut will stay cooler. usually grow huts stay 10-15 degrees higher than the ambiant room temp. hope that helps. peace.

uhmmm ok i m just going to get the can fan and not the vortex for now, will insulated duct help reduce noise or is it just a temp thing?????

maybe. a can 33 is rated for 200 cfm. a 6" vortex is 448cfm. you would have to use a speed controller to slow your fan down to 1/2 speed to make them compatable. and now you have less air running through your cab, but your fan is quieter.

idealy you need a can filter 66 (long narrow shape) or the can 50 (short fat shape) they both are rated for 412-420 cfm. wich is perfect for a 6" vortex. good luck.

I have the 4X4 HH coming, and have bought the 6" Vortex w/ controller and the Can66. Can't tell you how it works, but should do the trick. :wink:
Where did you hear the Vortex is noisy?

MD Hydro-Vortex fan & controller = $164
