I have some options...lol.

Well, after chasing my cal/mag def. an random lockout's with buying everything there is from CANA (aqua G & B, cannazyme, Rhyzotonic, Boost, and p/k)...wait... and when that didn't fix it I went the entire Dutch Master Gold route ( grow, bloom, zone, silica, max)..lololol... and R/O unit, and everything under the sun, I finally find out it's been fucking ROOT APHIDS the whole time...lolol. I have always used Fox Farm (grow, tiger, big and beastie bloomz) with EA & EN with dark energy, Cal/mag (because I use coco) and have a great time doing it. Well, I trashed all my grows and let go of my NYCD mom of 5 years but have some fresh NYCD seeds on the way and some other really nice local genetics rooting as we speak.

My question is..... Should I use the canna or fox farm first in fear that either of those two will go bad before the Dutchmaster (because I never opened any)???

I literally have enough nutes for a year and a half...lol...gallons( I plan on down scaling considerably.)

Also, I am really interested in using the DM zone instead of bennies, but will the zone be ok with Big Bloom or the CANA line??

Thanks,
Hoot

why dont you try simplifying your regiment. canna coco AB stand alone w pk13/14 should be simple as shit and produce like crazy. you would have less variables in your res to 2nd guess what products maybe giving you issues. I had root aphids and I kept killing em off and growing plenty of fresh roots to not effect my yields at all. simplicity rocks. :tiphat:

I totally agree with toohighmf. Simplicity is very handy.

But for some of us, it's just too much fun right?

I've noticed the Canna line, especially for coco, is short on a huge group of micro-nutrients and if you use reverse osmosis filtered water like I do this can be a big issue. I'm not an expert, I'm learning that this process is VERY slow after 5 grows, but I have a plan.

I'm going to do the whole line this time around; Rhizotonic, Coco A & B, CannaZym, PK 13/14, and CannaBoost. I'm also including a large part of the Organicare line; Humega, Huvega, Calplex, and Seaplex. I will condition the RO water with 1/2 suggested strength Organicare line, then add the Canna nutrient line at the appropriate levels.

There are a lot of micro-nutrient supplements to choose from. I used Botanicare's Liquid Karma and Cal-Mag plus on my last grow, and they worked fine, but I feel like I could select a better source. It basically all came down to silicon. Botanicare uses silicon from two sources, Sodium Silicate and Potassium Silicate. I didn't want to add any extra sodium to my new system so I started looking elsewhere.

When I found Organicare it just fit too well into the places that Canna seems to be lacking in a RO setup. Calplex and Huvega, work in conjuction with each other to establish an ideal CEC, supplementing just about every micro nutrient and then some. Humega and Seaplex provide biological activity to complement and enhance nutrient uptake via humic amino acids.

Now, I'm no scientist. Hell, I haven't even tried this all out myself, but I feel like two years of read work and a couple of grows have given me enough insight to hone in on what I think is a perfect complementary system to Canna's already stellar setup. If you want to try this out as well keep an eye on how the magnesium, phosphorus and potassium in Canna works with the inclusion of a new line. Any sign of white salt buildup on the reservoir is a sure sign something is amiss, and this is what I'll be keeping my eye on as well. If there is an issue then I'd cut out the organicare and just use Cal-Mag plus (for the iron).
