Where to get loose carbon?

Wal-Mart has it in the aquarium section. As POMH said, just about every pet store.

If you're talking about larger quantities, there's a guy on ebay that sells 10lb and 25lb buckets for an excellent price.

I buy mine from a marine supply store in large buckets; much cheaper than buying small quantities at the local pet store. The Kent Marine Carbon is excellent.

go to ebay type in activated carbon there is a guy back east who sells 25lb buckets. you can go to any pet marine or whatever you won't find a better bargian

this is just an example, it's always sold for cheaper on the bay so just get the best deal out there and don't high bid because another bucket will come along.
