Just as some choose to simply follow along because something is vehemently and incessantly repeated.

Things do not magically become a fact, no matter how many times one may shout said disinformation in embolden letters. JS

Not withstanding the review of 200 studies reviewed and published in the Lancet, saying that masks work. Link posted elsewhere in these threads earlier... but can be found and posted again.

......since when do politicians make medical decisions? Who started that?

And...you are another banned transformed "Newbie". Cough.
Ever hear of PUBLIC HEALTH CARE??

In these early days, there was virtually no government regulation or attention paid to public health. The first medical society was formed in Boston in 1735. Fifteen years later, in 1750, the first general hospital was established in Philadelphia. In 1765, the Medical College of Philadelphia was founded.

Modern public health began developing in the 19th century(1800's), as a response to advances in science that led to the understanding of, the source and spread of disease. As the knowledge of contagious diseases increased, means to control them and prevent infection were soon developed. wiki.org

DJT tried....and failed miserably. 407,000 deaths and counting.

Tell that to Dr. Fauci- he's served the American public health in various capacities for more than 50 years, and has been an advisor to every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan.

Well-known Fairbanks Martial Artist and UFC fighter dies of COVID

(From today's on-line Fairbanks Daily News Miner; should be a free article if you haven't been cruising there too often)

But seemingly an appropriate article per the discussion, albeit anecdotal... and sad.

https://www.newsminer.com/news/loca...cle_67f0db10-5c6d-11eb-86d6-bf4f9acfa013.html

Edit; He was only 51, and no slouch for physical fitness. A couch potato surfing the internet, he weren't.

2nd edit: I mistakenly posted this here, based on a 'discussion'(speculations and conjecture pointed as though a spear) in another thread, where folks were asserting that healthy folks are more or less resilient where C-19 is concerned. Fact is that we can tell ourselves all sorts of stuff to convince ourselves when we're in danger. not too far afield from the fainting goats, that when being chased by a predator, tip over and look dead. Don't know how well that works for them, but it seems self-destructive to me. Like surrendering before even putting up a proper fight or defense.

I like that. You guys deserve a page in my book: people who aren't afraid to speak up. I'll ask: Should we let politicians decide, or, let the market decide? What I mean is if left up to the market those businesses which respond to market demands will survive and those which do not will not.
A comparison would be the ban on smoking in bars, restaurants. Thoughts, anyone?

Your rights end at the point you put others in peril
Like smoking indoors or riding on bald tires
Life is hard
It is cold out maybe I'll grab the garden hose and soak down the highway watch people wipeout...:bigeye:

The words one chooses when communicating with others do matter.

Here we have two words that sound similar yet are vastly different due to... intent.
(ie: the difference between pre meditated murder 1 vs accidental 2nd. degree murder).
Ya dig?

Misinformation:
incorrect or misleading information
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/misinformation

Disinformation:
false information deliberately and often covertly spread (as by the planting of rumors) in order to influence public opinion or obscure the truth.

Obviously you do not own a business. But our common ground is the virus is not political. Therefore, I do not accept politicians making it political. Have you read "The Great Barrington Declaration? It's a good read from the Medical profession.
How can someone be so unaware of the history is behind public health,
and think an absurd declaration holds merit?

malice aforethought. n. 1) the conscious intent to cause death or great bodily harm to another person before a person commits the crime. Such malice is a required element to prove first degree murder. 2) a general evil and depraved state of mind in which the person is unconcerned for the lives of others.

Does that ring a bell??

Ex: Feb 7th, 2020. Conversation with Bob Woodward, author.
President Donald Trump acknowledged the “deadly” nature of the coronavirus earlier this year in a series of recorded interviews with The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, even as Trump publicly sought to dismiss the disease’s threat to Americans.

Trump later defended himself during a White House briefing, emphasizing the notion that he was trying to prevent panic, and said he was acting in the country's best interest, even calling himself "a cheerleader for this country."

When asked why didn't take more preemptive measures based on his understanding of the virus before the disease spread in the U.S., Trump said: "You didn't really think it was going to be to the point where it was." But Trump acknowledged to Woodward in February how easily transmissible and deadly the disease was.

When asked if he felt the outcome of the pandemic could have been different had he been more forthcoming to the American people, Trump said his response showed leadership. He declined to take responsibility for not reducing the 200,000 deaths from the disease in the United States, claiming millions more would have died had he not shut down the country to foreign visitors.

A 'leader' that isn't willing to accept any responsibility for ANYTHING should not accept praise for anything.

May Trump have a miserable existence for the rest of his days. :ying:

So apparently on Jan 21 pcr testing has become unreliable and now must be accompanied by another positive test and symptoms to be counted as a positive covid case. (Per the w.h.o.)

Changing the goalposts much? This is why people don’t trust the govt or our public “health” officials ....
Because they are obviously politicizing a virus... it has zero to do with health.

In fact they don’t even attempt to conceal their deceptions

These tyrants should be tarred and feathered and worse.
(They’ve got some serious get back coming their way)

Do you think banning the livelihood of millions of Americans without any discernible benefits in mitigating viral spread could be considered malice ?

I’m sure ur paychecks have kept coming so it’s prob no big deal to you.. but for a lot of us this lockdown has been a huge problem

And it turns out all the sacrifice was for naught as studies have shown lockdowns have no benefits when compared with other voluntary measures.

Please show your research, links to "studies" And it turns out all the sacrifice was for naught as studies have shown lockdowns have no benefits when compared with other voluntary measures.
. Numerous times you spew incorrect information. This may be another one.

Now, due to new variants of CO-19, it's suggested to double mask. And yes, MO, cloth masks DO work as long as a good fit.

Did the WHO really make such an admission? No. This article was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.

https://www.politifact.com/factchec...d-not-admit-pcr-tests-grossly-inflate-positi/

PCR tests, considered the most reliable, work by duplicating the genetic material in cycles until traces of the virus become more easily detectable. If there’s a large presence of virus in the sample, fewer cycles would be required to detect it, said Davidson Hamer, a professor of medicine at Boston University.

The number of cycles required to detect the virus in a sample is known as a "cycle threshold." A low cycle threshold implies that a patient has a high risk of spreading the coronavirus to others.

The question for lab technicians is how many times to duplicate a particular sample before determining whether it is positive or negative.

You have mastered the art of speaking with a forked tongue.
Ur people have long been known for this.

Y’all can’t move the goalposts and think we wouldn’t notice

I’d suggest for you a triple mask, or even a quad mask, or perhaps safest of all a forty layer mask.

That's funny!!! ;o)

No government deception of the populace isnt funny (imo)
People losing their homes isn’t funny.
People starving to death behind a politicized virus isn’t funny.

You laugh because you know you’ll never be held to account for your lies.
But perhaps you will....

I'll say it again...since you were gone for another week. That makes 5 or 6 sabbaticals?
