Most of the discussion in the thread is with regard to THC. Although I can't see why a little CBD would hurt.

Thanks, Lost.
I began reading the 3 different threads this morning (Holy Shit Oil/Anointed Holy Oil, Cannabis Can Cure Cancer, and, I believe, a 3rd thread.
Just going with intuitive thinking here, the THC seems to me to be about relief, the CBD about cure or improvement to symptoms other than pain, and so on.
Grabbing thoughts out of the air, I'm wondering if oil/extract with equal parts CBD and THC might not be the way to go.
The 1-gram/day seems a bit daunting. I can see the whole process of working up to a 90-day regimen of that leading (at least initially) to a zombie state, with significant munchies. The ideal circumstance being one where the person ingesting is able to function, AND receive a benefit from the oil/extract.
Those persons nearest to this person, if he needs to further this from hypothetical to real, would need to be on-board with the possibility of the person not being as able or as mobile as they have been; at least at the beginning of the course.
Still lots of reading and video perusal to do yet, before I can even consider myself a suited novice in re. to the discussions in the threads. But urgency motivates learning.
Thanks again. Just got in from cutting trees (aspen/balsam poplar mostly) on the lower end of the property, and need to get dinner ready, then head a valley over, to see an acquaintance..

I'm all outa' rep again, btw.
Anyway, the article/link re making cannabis suppositories states (in the interview) that almost 3 x's the plant's effective medicine is delivered via suppositories, versus oral ingestion AND (DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!!), "zero head high."
While some may see this as being robbed, my initial reading is that for persons who are on a mission to achieve ingestion of 1 gram/day of extract, the quelling of the stone may be a blessing. if the person really wants a stone, they can always imbibe in a more conventional manner, meanwhile the suppository delivers the medicine directly to the affected area, with 3 x's the effectiveness or delivery of medicine, and less stone.
In my book, that's a winning ticket.

My dad has prostate cancer. Won't even try CBD, or hemp. It's devil drugs to him.

Hey Moose, I (age 70) was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer about a year or so ago and underwent the DaVinci procedure last November.
Everybody's different in what treatment they choose, My Gleason score was 8 after the biopsy. I just wanted the damn cancer out of me as quickly as possible - was afraid it might spread to my bones before the surgery could be scheduled and performed.
Here's a few thoughts on my deal:
Been cancer free since surgery
Used CBD (first time use) and cannabis during post op recovery and only needed 1 Oxy the whole time (pain from the catheter was by far the worst thing abut the whole ordeal).
Grew Dynasty's Charlotte's Gift this summer (16 to .05 CBD to tHC), been vaping it regularly now and like the taste and effect.
No urinary problems beyond a couple months.
Erectile function slowly returning, approx 60% to 70% after nearly a year and doc says should see continued improvement in the next 12 months.
The mental aspects of the diagnosis, testing, surgery and recovery were a bitch - confronting mortality, loss (temporary luckily for me) of sexual function, updating family on my condition multiple times, fatigue, depression, anxiety - but cannabis has been a good friend to me in dealing with those issues.
You are a good person for seeking out this info! Best to you and your family.
I feel great today with much to be thankful for, including information and support from icmag.com community. Hope this helps...

Thank you, Letsbe. That was -some- of the initial requested info I was looking for; first-hand anecdote to add to others' experiences, and make some determinations aside from just dry data, though admittedly, the greater amount of dry data gives a greater view overall.
Glad to read your experience was positive. Your report reads as very hopeful.
And yes, there's a lot to think about in this. The attachment family, has the person been on the planet long enough, the collision of the hypothetical perceptions or beliefs about mortality, versus the reality of "you may get to choose very soon," and the whole issue of simply trying to put aside lab results that currently exist, and actually wait for a more definitive "Yes/No, this is/isn't what you're dealing with."
Personally, I was the kid who snuck into closets with a razor when no one was home, and opened Christmas packages early, then taped them back together very precisely, so as not to be noticeable, pretending to be surprised on Christmas morning, cheating myself more than the 'giver.' In short, I have not been a very patient person in some circumstances involving waiting. Yet, as a serious road-dwelling hitch-hiker in my youth, I could be stuck some (often semi-remote) place for up to 3 days, and not get all that antsy or angry at the circumstances... So.... we wait.
The insurance in this case only permits for medical treatment in Alaska and Washington State, and even then, it needs to be (for financial reasons) with a specific network of resources in those area.
Lots of reports re. Docs who (if they find out a patient is using oils/extracts, whether CBD or THC), threaten to pull the plug on conventional treatments. Not all are this way, but from my reading, many have had this ultimatum placed upon them. Seems that no matter how far we think we've advanced as a species with our tech, etc., ignorance and narrow train of thought rules the day, even among those deemed to be brighter folks.
I figure that if an impact driver is beneficial, and another wrench on the other end is helpful, as well, if possible, without causing some sort of problem, then use both.
aridbud, I have some questions for you about extracts from your autos, but will PM you.
Trich, thank you for your links. As a guy who suffers terrible weariness when reading too much at once, trying to keep data straight in its own categories, etc., and feeling serious tiredness after reading, it may take me a few days to wade through all of the resources folks have provided here via written articles, but I'll be doing that as much as I'm able.
Canna, yeah, a family member when I was very young, had opiates in suppository form, and my assumption was that if a drug of any kind entered more closely to a location with serious blood flow, in what ever part of the body, then it went more rapidly to the bloodstream, but the one article/post I can recall at the moment, clearly stated the results included more beneficial contents in the extract being delivered to the system, with less "head high" when used in suppository form.
I need to go back and clarify that they were specifically talking about THC, not CBD, and to see if it's possible that they were separating what we often refer to as a 'body high' from a 'head high,' without actually mentioning the 'body high' part of it, as many of us understand the differentiation of the 2 (specifically why I'm not typically a huge Indica fan, unless specific Indicas from the Hindu Kush areas of several countries, that are known to have other effects than the more stereotypical).
Bottom line, the Bubbas in the woods can talk this caliber or that caliber for personal bear protection all day long, but if I'm dealing with a truly aggressive bear (speaking in metaphor), I want to hit it with ALL of what ever is on-hand, all at once. The more the merrier, as long as three's no counter-indication between the substances.
Thanks again, and now chores call me. Mothers are up into the 4' LED shop tubes (lighting) in their cupboards, and have been sending telling signals for some time that they'd -really- like some fresh mix, in larger pots, for me to take the next round of cuttings, just to keep 'em going. And a friend in the bush has an aircraft later on, for which I need to get into town to gather up some items for him, so he doesn't lose his window for getting stuff out there.
The whole concept of cancer, up close and personal, even before -final- formal confirmation, causes a presence that makes looking at more insignificant chores, issues, questions or needs that much easier; they are tasks or issues with an immediate solution. Then there's the potential egg on the face if the imaging and biopsy labs come back as some peculiar non-cancerous issue.
If nothing else, I will have gained an insight into prostate (and other) cancer treatment that in the future, if needed, or called upon, would only require a review, rather than starting from square 1. And a refreshed perspective on what time poorly used or wasted amounts to..

Trich's Medscape link reviews or engages in discussion of a study re. benefits of combining CBD with THC, but if my initial cursory reading was accurate, the CBD amplifies the quasi-narcotic effects of the THC...
WHOA, pony!! Again, something I'd need to make sure was built up to, as otherwise it sounds as though it'd be a guaranteed ass-kicker, if I read what I thought I did.
And there's the question re. sought dosage; if combining the 2 (THC AND CBD) is the 333 mg load per dose, 3 x's/day, still the target, and would a person go for 333 mg CBD AND 333 mg THC per dose, times 3/day, or ??????
Obviously I need to keep on reading, and will.
Now the mothers are calling me.. Then the town run.

The medscape link, near the bottom of the list, opened up, though I had to register at their site (and did so) in order to be able to read the beginning of the abstract they had posted. I need to go back into that one, and click on additional links.
That's the up-date.
More reading this evening.
Moms are pruned & waiting on new mix/larger pots.. and maybe a vacation to some place warm, with a bit more humidity.. Almost half of the fuel oil drums have been purged of contaminants, and douched out with 99% lab grade isopropyl, the underlayment has been fitted to the deck of the utility trailer for fuel-hauling, and it's time for some deluxe Italian moose spaghetti over whole-grain noodles...
All in all, not too bad a day.

wow. i apologize for not confirming the current status of those links.
that may jeopardize the entire list in my sticky being changed, deleted, moved, censored, whatever...
i'm a bit embarrassed that only one actually worked, and i'd be even more embarrassed if more of my list reflect the same.
