Labtec's 1200 Watt Garage Loft

Hello everyone, I'm Back.
It took a little while to get everything rolling, but I've finally got it done.
I ended up finding a house with a garage that has a loft in it. It's pretty small, but secluded from the rest of the house. It also stays pretty cool even during the day.
The first step was to cover the windows. After that I hung up my old chamber's panda film shell that I kept intact. This was actually pretty easy. The lights and carbon filter/fan needed a place to hang as well, so I decided to throw two 2x4s up across the top and hang them from there.

Next step was to hook up the electrical. There was an ac line coming right where I needed it, so, snip snip, junction box, then run an outlet to where I needed it. Unfortunately I had to change it to 120 from 240 volt.

After everything was setup, I brought my freshly transplanted girls over and set them up. The temp stays pretty comfortable in there.

Well, here's some porn for y'all.

Welcome back, Congrats on the new space. Looks like plenty of room, watchin for sure.

Just one idea, can you put a girl in the middle of the two bulbs? she would be your biggest yielder, you will be happy you did....

So thats no tent? But panda paper that you zipped down-across-and-up again?

Intense, I like it good job - Do you not have to worry about drainage much since it is soil and not a hydro medium? Hows that work there

Don't over veg in there!

I might try some low drainage trays ([nine]and[nine]) and doing a quick flip - thicket like SOG, maybe get one 360 type fan mounted in a corner or something

Props on your secret soil garden - Nice Work

Looks great Labtec. Wsup with some details bro? Strains, soil, nutes, yadda yadda....
How long are you planning to veg?

Just one idea, can you put a girl in the middle of the two bulbs? she would be your biggest yielder, you will be happy you did....

I've done this before, and imo its not worth it. The plant that you stick in the middle will do very well, but the plants that are on the 2 sides of this center plant will begin to get shaded very quickly. Especially after the stretch. You'll basically be sticking a big plant in front of 2 plants that were in the "sweet spot". It looked like a great idea in veg, but I found it to be counterproductive in the end.

Thanks Aerohead for stopping by the new pad. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I noticed my last grow had the same thing Marlo was talking about, one healthy plant, but the two adjoining girls take a hit. This run I'm just going to slightly angle 2 plants towards the lights, I'll post a pic when I get a shot.

Flux451 you are correct. That is not a tent, but a panda film tent-like enclosure that I had from my last grow. It actually worked out pretty good in this new attic. I just ended up moving the zippers from one of the sides, to the middle of the long side. I just transplanted, so I'm in the process of slowly giving them more and more water every time. I'm flipping these girls tomorrow actually. 2 of my strains stretch pretty good in flower, so hopefully this room doesn't fill up too much. I do have some trays that I'm going to put under them probably in a week or so. Thanks again.

I appreciate it mrktwiz, thanks for the good vibes.:)

Thanks Red. Hopefully these girls love their new home. We'll see in a few days. They're just starting to grow good again after their transplant, so I'm flipping them tomorrow. I pretty much have to have 2 runs in before my lease is up in 5 months. Thanks for coming by.

DonkDBZ, always awesome to see you come by.

Dank you Noobian, they'll be budding pretty good in a month or so.

Sorry Marlo, hehe. I have been super busy with school lately. For strains I have two different super lemon haze strains from seed, OG Kush, Headband, and Pure Kush. For nutes I'm using LC's soilless mix 1 with recipe 1. I also use some compost tea and some Root's Trinity every time I water. I don't have that much time at this house, so I'm flipping tomorrow. 2 of my strains, well actually 3 since I have 2 super lemon Haze strains from seed, stretch pretty good in flower, so I'm hoping to fill up the chamber pretty good. For the lights I'm using 2 600 watts. Thanks for coming by, I always love to check out your threads.

RipVanWeed, thanks. I love your grows as well. thanks, and come back soon for more picture updates.

Welcome back labtec. Everything looks great as usual... Have you thought about wrapping that entire loft in panda? Just a suggestion... :) You have a lot of space to work with. You could go stadium style, hang the lights right down the middle... I just know how expensive college tuition is these days. I'm paying for 2 bachelors degrees myself. ;)

Great to see you back old friend :rasta: The new set up looks clean and simple
Q? Are you concerned about heat? An uninsulated attic space is can turn into an oven as the days get longer.
Keep it green Bro :joint:

Well hell yeah!looks like a nice little grow spot.:tiphat: glad your back :tiphat:
I haven't been on here in a min but im going to get back to doing the damn thing.:jump: nice to see you again bro.:tiphat:

Thanks Nukku. I got my two harvests planned pretty good, so hopefully I can get them both in.

I thought about wrapping the whole loft in Panda film, but decided against it. I'll be happy with two small harvests. Thanks for stopping by Bobblehead.

Dank you vintner, I appreciate you stopping by the loft. How is your dob treating ya? Super jealous

NEARTHEBEACHBOY danks. Keep on rocking it, nice to hear from you again.

Got some new pics on day 18. It gets kind of cold up there during the day (55-65), but that should change within the next couple weeks:)

Way to keep it fresh labtec. I'd imagine the loft adds some peace of mind.

You hand watering them gals? If you haven't seen Lazyman's videos of his ops and how he has setup his blumats, you really should check that out if its in the budget. Would make that SOG easier to care for so ya can spend more time studying. Also, it looks like you got some shorties that could be boosted up into the light.

The placement of the buds in at least half the tent look really good to me though and I'm sure you thought about doin more of a stadium like red's. But, the light that misses the plants is going to hit that panda and reflect back at the dark side of your gals so I hope works well for ya. Can't wait to see if your temps stay low and bring out more beautiful colors from your PK.

I'm curious if you thought about adding a second set of 600s directly under your current bulbs. I've been a sad cat lately with no garden or medicine, but I finally transplanted myself to a legal state and just have to jump through a bunch of hoops before I can get started again. Unfortunately, I'll have to keep my count very low so I may have to toy with Hydro, but if things change in the future I'd love to build upon your chamber design. Will just have to come up with ideas to make it easier to maintain.

Best wishes with your loft and I wonder what you will be up to next, lol. I'll be lurking and jerkin off to the porn like usual, so as always, thanks for sharing and moar pics :D

Hey Catman, nice to see you around. I do water them by hand now, but I plan on setting up drippers on my next run. Good call on raising those little girls, will do. I didn't have that much time to veg this time, so I flipped them pretty early.
Nice to hear that you're in a med state. Yeah I think those pk will purple up. My lemon purps are already starting to darken up. Don't forget to use lotion, you could get hurt:)

Hey zwh, thanks for stopping by. I originally had my tent around a 2x4 frame, but had to move out of that house. On this run I decided to just hang the tent from the rafters since I didn't have enough room to fit the whole frame. Here's a picture of the frame that I built:

Here are some pictures of my girls on day 37. I've got one closeup shot of a Super Lemon Haze, one shot of the space between my two bulbs, and then one shot of the right side of the chamber. Sorry about the pics with the lights on, next time I'll get in there before the lights turn on:rasta:
