But without a doubt, my favorite among all the Tropical Seeds plants (and one of my favorites among all the plants I've been smoked) that I've been able to grow, is the King Congo "feno Ciskei" of this 2020: Power of remarkable, type and quality of psychoactivity of outstanding, and taste of honours...
It may not be as spectacularly tropical sativa to the eye as Zamalmistyk "feno Zamal Mafate" or King Congo "feno Congo Point Noire", nor as potent as the latter... But it is my favorite. Maybe I would prefer the "feno Congo Point Noire" to "marcha, fiesta y baile", but for everything, everything, everything else, I prefer this one....:

I guess should be fine for january as they will be quicker than pure OTH. And green phenos of OTH usually are quicker than the purple or gold OTH phenos.
The extreme Haze could be a little more extreme compared to the 2 others. But still has Nl5 genes in it.

Thanx, Mr. Chicago.

Have you grown Extreme Haze or tried it?
How many weeks of flowering in your crop? What did you think of its psychoactivity, potency and taste?

Pd: and thank you very much, again, for your kind generosity with your Pan-o-Haze. I hope to be able to make room for it in my little kennel for another season!

Mucha suerte y salud.

Ufff... Menuda bicharraca, esa Old Congo...

This is more than nice for sure.

One question: how do they smell when flowering ? Any plant in particular have little to no smell in flowering ?

Hola colega!!

ZAMALMYSTIC [Zamal Mafate '80] * [(Original Misty * Jack Herer) * Afghan]:
2020 " pheno Zamal Mafate"):

ZAMALMYSTIC [Zamal Mafate '80] * [(Original Misty * Jack Herer) * Afghan]:
2020 " pheno Zamal Mafate"):

Bud from the harvest of Dec 4rd 2020 passed to this day, after spending more than 7 months in glass jar:
Potency is still high/very high, with an exciting/caffeinic physical side, and a clean cerebral/introspective/creative mental side. I have experienced no drop in potency or tolerance from use, over the months (I have noticed a slight drop/tolerance with the King Congo feno Congo Point Noire, but it still goes up nicely, and it's also the one I have and smoke the most by far, heh).
The taste is still very fruity and fresh.

Temporada actual de exterior 2021-2022.

Hoy, 19-Julio-2021.

Current outdoor season 2021-2022.

Today, 19-July-2021.

A new ZAMALMYSTIC [Zamal Mafate '80] * [(Original Misty * Jack Herer) * Afghan] has been born.

Because it was germinated so late, it won't be able to grow very big, and will probably be harvested a little later than "normal"... It will be in the same pot in which I germinated the previous season, until its final transplant to an outdoor hole in mother soil.

Hello TSC growers,

I recently popped a 5-pack of Old Afghan NLD. I was really intrigued by the description of the long pheno's bouquet (metallic, church, incense) on the TSC website, and I hope to find a decent female of that type. I have pollen from several ACE Honduras males, which I may use for a test cross.

One of the seeds was obviously non-viable even upon the first visual inspection, but the other four successfully germinated within a couple of days. There is one vigorous standout plant, one has some odd leaf deformities, and the remaining two are about the same.

All four plants are looking quite NLD. Here they are compared to two HSO Sugar Breath freebies of the same age (middle):

Very interested to see how these turn out. I haven't seen anyone else post about the pure Old Afghan, but I see that folks are growing a few crosses.

Peace to all.

Greetings to all,

A little update about my Old Afghan pop - and of course some pictures. Since my first post, I transplanted three of the four plants into larger pots, discarding the deformed one, #2. It never took off and did not develop very good roots. The remaining plants are about a month old and are starting to develop pre-flowers, though they are still too young to sex.

Plant #1 is clearly the genetic lottery winner so far. Very strong, uniform structure, with good internode spacing. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is a female.

Plant #3 has an OK structure, but is also badly variegated, and many of the fan leaf edges appear somewhat shriveled. It looks interesting and I might flower it out anyway, but these are not the kinds of phenotypic traits I'm interested in keeping.

IMG_20210814_103848.jpg

Plant #4 is tall and spindly. My money is on it being a male, just from structure alone. I'll bet myself a joint, that way I can't lose ;) In any case, nothing too interesting looking. While the same environmental conditions as the other plants, this one seemed the least healthy, with extensive Magnesium-type chlorosis. Perhaps I overwatered it.

Quick update regarding my Old Afghans. Of the 3 plants, I ended up keeping the healthiest one with the best structure, #1 from my previous posts. It turned out to be a male, so I collected a bit of pollen before feeding him to the compost. All in all, I really liked it. Vigorous, with very uniform structure, beautiful, large doubly-serrated fan leaves. Stem rub distinct, heavy dark stone fruit perhaps, with some acidity, but not too strong. Very quick to flower under 11/13, started shedding pollen end of 2nd week. Height at flip: 25'', height 1 week into flower: 41'', final height < 2 weeks into flower: 51''. Flowered in a #1 pot.

Apologies for the strobe effect caused by the older LED fixture in my ersatz male flowering room. Happy growing to all.
