Looking great MummyCat!

I popped a pack of Bodhi's BSHW a while back, and am just starting to finish all of them. So far I have harvested two of the 5 female pheno's, #2 and #1. #2 wasn't too bad, a much lighter buzz with a pretty good sweet smell. #1 blows it out of the water though, in all departments. Buzz is very strong, immediately feel it behind your eyes after hitting it. It has a very strong smell/taste of grape skittles? And it yielded great, 4oz in a 2gal smart pot.

Here are some finished pics of #1.

Ill post about the other 3 pheno's as they come down. Keep up the great discussion guys.

the cut i recieved a while back of Sage.. is the Big Sur Holy Pheno.. looks like that but the buds are huge and dense its crazy.. i only got to flower out a few clones of it.. so i didnt get to smoke a whole bunch.. but it was a favorite between our family and friends.

What's the story on Coastal Seeds BSHW?

Kagyu of Coastal Seeds is from Coastal California (i.e. near Big Sur), has been out here since way back, has lots of friends who have been out here since way back. He was gifted the seeds and given blessings to do seed increases, and has been working on them since. I believe when he received them they were in the F12 range. Thanks to open cross pollinations using multiple phenos, he has done a great job of preserving as much of the original gene pool as possible.

This is one of the phenos that has shown up. There are a number of phenos demonstrating the spectrum of possibilites and colors. Recently we found a full purple flower pheno. The pheno that I posted was one of our favorite green stem phenotypes. It placed 20th at the 2012 Emerald Cup. Here is a link to a video with the test results and an image of the finished product.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvF99cODE5w

While not the highest testing of the phenos, it only tested at 17%, compared to the over 20 percent that the purple stem phenos have tested at, but the nose on this thing is amazing. Eucalyptus, mild licorice, grapes, and haze make up its bouquet. The judges at the cup had this to say about it "Amazing look, earthy fruit, eucalyptus, nose tickle, thoughtful creeper."

Someone gave me a clone of BSHW a long time ago. I grew it once, and I thought the quality of the high was excellent. I happened to have something else at the time that I thought was stronger so I let it go. But I never forgot that "life is good" feeling of it, and the fact that I felt at my highest about an hour after I first toked.

I lost the strain I thought was stronger, and a few other good ones since.

:wallbash:

A relative of BSHW is now my top plant, SAGE. I'm still looking for something more potent, but SAGE also has the "life is good" feeling. SAGE also smells wonderful and has definite bag appeal. Better than I remember from BSHW.

I hope you all don't mind me posting SAGE here for comparison to BSHW, since SAGE has been referenced many times here.

During flowering, I have seen this cut of SAGE sometimes look almost red with a hint of purple, and many other shades of purple including almost black looking. After curing, it tends to go to a kind of mauve color. I think that is what it is called.

The aroma while growing is a combo of wood, honey, and spice. After a good cure, it smells like medicine/turpentine with a very vague hint of menthol.

I have crossed it with Golden Tiger, and I am currently pollinating it with Purple Old Timers Haze x Meao Thai.

All the Best,

ThaiBliss

ThaiBliss,
I can see the Purple Zacatecas influence there. The pictures you posted look very similar to the purple stem pheno. The pictures that I posted were of the green stem pheno. You description of aromas is also in the same ball park. Lots of menthol, and eucalyptus in there, with sweet and spice notes. Many of the phenos also have a grape undertone. Thanks for sharing. Its cool when you can see the lineage in plant.

Peace,
Bamboo
