AK-47 & HDF Side By Side Bio-Bucket Style!!!

Looks good , nice and tidy too :smile: hard to believe that you never have plant & PH issues running it at almost 7.0 in aqua culture , you ever do a run with the PH in a more traditional range ? and if so what were the results ?

interesting how you can let your PH drift up so high in these systems.

Sup OH ~ yea I was like every one else when I first started, I went with all traditional methods for the first run or so but like everyone else after awhile I begin to tweak it to my own liking ~ when it comes to traditional hydro methods I think the Bio-System fly’s in the face of about every thing!!

I agree BT......Bio systems are the way to go if you want big ,lush plants fast

I dont even worry about my pH anymore since going bio (still check it daily though )

Its stays where it likes it and it works phenominal....so Im not changing anything.
Just topping off ....adding nutes to keep ppms at target ppm of orig. solution mixed .
do this.....when ever it needs it. which is about every week for me so far

I see you're at it again, BT! Spreading your vast knowledge and expertise like few others can. Such a bummer that your older posts/pics have to go away. Someone should have a talk with GL or Gypsy to see if sticky threads can't be moved to their account or a "house" account of some sort. Surely theirs isn't full and this would free up your storage space. It's worth talking to them if the Mentors can all get together and approach them about it. Just a thought anyway.

Great job, bro and you're gonna love that HDF. I had some grown in soil with Advanced Nutes and it was a great smoke. I preferred the Bubblegum a bit more as it seemed to be more of an up high but the HDF was quite potent. Just a bit more "couch lock" than I like. I'm a sativa man myself! Looking great, BT and I'm signing on for the rest of this one!!

GWM ~ yea I check mine every now and again but it’s always within expectable ranges…….

Bonzo ~ thinks bro, the H.D.F was the easiest to clone over the AK-47 ~ I’m looking to go four to five weeks in Veg with this grow and then go to Flower……….looking to get some big-ass buds out of this grow!!

RB ~ yea all that stuff is taking care of now ~ yea that’s what I’m hoping for is some potent stuff and from what I read, it’s the real deal!!

Very nice professional setup you have there, BigToke.
From what I've read in this thread alone, I think I'll have to
convert to the Bio-Bucket system (currently using Bubbler
for my Hydro grows) and give it a shot...

thats cool, but how are people to know the effects of the system without the proper input for the equation??? I mean, your plants look nice, and good exsplosive growth, but that doesnt mean they weigh shit. I would just like to know. Oh well, guess i'll have to find out myself. thanks

Sup everybody ~ well it’s been two weeks here’s a little update:

Every thing is going well ~ the H.D.F is out doing the AK’s ~ the photo’s says it all

Ok folks here we are at Three Weeks in the Bio-Bucket System:

They were all rooted at the same time but for some reason the HDF’s are growing faster and taller than the AK’s but they both look killer to me and smell killer also, damn here I am at three weeks of veg and they are stinking the whole place up!!! Looks like I’m going to have to take extra precaution on this grow for sure.

Here’s a little something that I haven’t covered with you good folks yet ~ I’ve decided to let this grow get pretty damn big, so I’ve redesigned the net-pots ~ if you’ll look at photo of the HDF that I took you will see that there is NO-ROOTS growing in that one area ~ the reason for this is so that I can place that one area next to the drain hose and not worry about clogging up my drain, no roots will grow in that area at all because they can not!!

Ok so here’s what I did ~ before I put my lava rocks in my net-pots, I cut a peace of clear plastic and placed it on the inside of the net-pot’s and then I put my lava rocks in ~ this will prevent any roots from growing in that one area.

Try getting a vaportek 4000 for the smeel they work amazingly with or with out the use of carbon scrubbers.

holy cow BT, lotta growth in 7 days! beautifull roots too, i have to do something about my roots clogging the drains of my buckets as well, prolly just a screen over the drian as my drains are in the bottom of the bucket.

greenmagic ~ yea I have a vaportek 4000 and it works great but those replacement canisters are expensive so I’ll not use it until I have to.

Bonzo ~ how’s it going old buddy!! Haven’t seen you in a while ~ oh my lord you should see them now!!! I have one that is four foot tall and most of the HDF’s are two feet, I suppose that I’ll start flowering at the end of this week, (that’s about as long as I can go without having huge trees in the grow/room) I think I’ve solved the “roots clogging up the drain thing” there very easy to make and use and so far work great.

Well every thing is running smoothly in the Bio-System and this is one of the most important reasons that I love this system; for the last three weeks it has been very busy here on the home front I usually check-up on my Bio-System every three to four days but as the summer fastely approaches I will be absent for a week or more at a time and this is when owning a Bio-System will pay off or pay for it’s self ~ yes you do have to leave the pump going 27/7 but that is a small price to pay for never losing a crop ~ when you cannot afford to lose another crop because of what ever reason the Bio-Bucket System is for you!!! Sometimes my life runs on a very tight schedule and that means that I don’t have a lot of time to worry about if something going wrong in the middle of the night ~ if your next harvest is a MUST!!! Then the Bio-System is for you.

Well getting back to the grow ~ Veg is over and I started Flowering three days ago, the transition is going smoothly I have yet to make any reservoir change-outs ~ the HDF’s are for the most part two and half foot tall and they are some whoppers!!! I have one that is over five feet tall, that is going to be some kind of huge buds on that one for sure!! ~ The AK-47’s are for the most part one and half foot tall and looking great and the smell between these two are fucking killer!! I would not recommend this to any one that is not prepared to cover some massive smells up.

I have a photo of the led to my reservoir showing the two four inch fans that I have in them, one blows air down into the res and the other sucks air out of the res, it works great!!! I put some pic’s of a two different AK-47 plants that I’m having trouble with ~ I have them under 27/7 light and there still wanting to flower on me, what’s going on ~ any body?
