C99 f2s and Blockhead

This will be my first ever grow diary.

I have had roughly 6 grows previously but I've never had a digital camera at the time. I got a Fujifilm Finepix A500 for crimbo and I've decided to put it to good use :D

I'm still learning how to use this thing so please forgive my blurry pics, I do my best you know :pointlaug

First off here's a quick rundown of my setup:

400w hps
6" inline fan for extraction (passive vents for induction)
Roughly 1.8 x 3.8 ft wardrobe (around 7 sq ft)
All organic soil with plain water feedings

In my grow room I have 7 C99 f2s and 1 Blockhead all grown from seed.

They are all on day 33 of veg right now but I'll be flipping the switch either tomorrow or in a couple of days as I need to take some clones before they do their thing.

Here's a pic of the outside

Lift the trippy backdrop and Bobs your mothers brother

I have a hook on the ceiling that the backdrop hooks onto...if you're wondering why it looks like that :D

If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'll be updating this thread every few days with their progress.

Thanks Jack! :joint:

twiztid, thanks man but I forgot to mention the C99s are all feminised so I would certainly hope they are all females :D

The more scraggy looking ones look as they do due to a problem I had earlier on when transplanting...I used cutting and seedling soil instead of regular soil and those 2 (the ones in the far corners) suffered most from serious deficiencies whilst the others held on pretty well, and the Blockhead seems to be indestructable!

After repotting them into their lovely organic rich soil a week ago they have bounced back rather well.

I switched the light back to 12/12 today so sit back and watch as the show comes into full swing :joint:

Nice looking grow Gangabiss.
Great strain selection. :D:yes:
What are your temps? Reason I ask is because it looks like some of your c99s are suffering from heat stress. They all look healthy otherwise.
Ill be pulling up a seat. :lurk:

Cheers WitchKing, this perticular Blockhead is actually from one of those freebie 5 packs. Can't wait to see the frosty goodness she bestows upon me :yummy:

Thanks Indophiliac, I'm really excited to see what the hype on these 2 strains is all about...seems nobody has a bad word to say about either of them.

Ah you noticed the leaf curling :D That is actually from when I messed up earlier on and repotted them all into crappy soil which resulted in some serious magnesium and iron deficiencies in the C99s (Blockhead was hardly affected apart from some slight interveinal browning on the lower leaves).

Also I had a few little tiny pots in the room and this made the humidity drop to about 20% which I'm sure must have added to the leaf curling...I sorted that by filling a big tuperware container with water and laying 2 towels over the sides and into the water. That bumped it back up to around 50% :D

Now they are all in their final pots humidity is not really a problem. It tends to stay at around 40% which I'm happy with.

Well I decided to crank this up a bit and see how my 600w hps would cope in that tiny space...it only raised temps by around 6-7 degrees! (70-75 with 400w, 77-83 with 600w) So now I have roughly 85 w/sqf as opposed to 57 w/sqf before. :woohoo:

This should be interesting :joint:

I'll snap some more pics today when the lights come on.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

Hey Gangabiss, looking nice!

Did you only pop the one blockhead? And what was your soil issue? Did you re-use or you just bought some to hot? Just wondering.

peace, Willie! :sasmokin:

Hey Willie thanks alot man :joint:

The Blockhead I'm growing is out of a freebie 5 pack, I think I put 3 seeds to germ and 2 popped. They both showed their sex about a week ago and I ended up with 1 male and 1 female. That stocky little momma you see there is the female.

The soil issue was a rather stupid mistake on my part really. They started out fine in tiny little tray pots filled with only seedling/cutting soil and I think I left them in the small pots a bit too long. Then when I repotted them into their medium sized pots the only soil I had to hand was the same stuff...so I mixed it around 60/40 soil/perlite, and of course the little buggers were already hungry from being rootbound in the little pots so this only worsened the problem.
So anyway, they had pretty much no nutes in the fresh soil and so until I transplanted them into these final pots they were going hungry for mg, iron and nitrogen the whole time...I tried feeding them with strong grow ferts but they would just suck it up and ask for more...just goes to show you how much of an effect the quality of the soil has on the health of your plants. Alot of grow ferts really don't have the full spectrum of micro nutes and trace elements that the herb loves so much.

Not a problem anymore, they are now in 12l pots with a mix of 1 part perlite, 1 part peat-free soil and 1 part worm castings with added blood fish and bone meal, bat guano and lime...they LOVE it :D

Thanks Yukon! :joint:

I was hoping you'd stop by seeing as you're into the Blockhead so much.

I still have another 15 pack sitting in my fridge waiting to be sprouted.

Any idea as to how long I should expect her to go in flowering? I'd be very grateful if you could give me any more info on this strain like different phenos, taste and high etc.....you are the Blockhead master afterall :D

Oh yea I thought I'd share my new odour control system with you all.
I started noticing that distinctive ganja stink when I walked through my front door and so I decided to do something about it.

I tried adding a homemade carbon filter made out of stockings and cat litter but that made way too much noise for my stealthy system...ended up with a loud rushing air sound all the way through the ducting.

So I went to Sainsburys and picked up a pack of Bounty dryer sheets.

I taped up the end of my acoustic ducting a little bit and simply stuffed 3 sheets in the end. I taped up the ends slightly to stop them flying out so they rest on the insulation.
If you just have regular ducting then you could use wire coat hangers pushed through to create a sort of mesh screen which would have the same effect.

Couple of pics:

Looked for the Febreeze ones but all they had was the summer breeze

3 sheets stuffed in the end
21132007_0302Image0003-med.JPG

Now I smell nothing but the fesh scent of summer and it is all just as quiet as before! :D

Total cost of this odour masking setup...£3 :D

Not sure how well this is going to work as they progress through flowering but we'll have to wait and see.

Hi king_taco thanks for stopping by

I'm planning to take 2 clones from each of the best plants in a couple of days. I'm definately going to keep this Blockhead around, I haven't even seen her buds yet but I already love her.
