1400 watt of old grandad and route 66

hey everyone, like many of you I've been secretly practicing our
hobby for a few years now, I was introduced to the web site by
my brother, better known as maj. pothead around here.
After reading many other posts, I've decided to put together a
grow diary of my own. Now before I get started let me just state
for the record that " this is how I do it " your methods may differ
and that's cool too, after all it's just a weed how hard can it be,
I can't seem to kill the ones in my lawn, so I think with a little
TLC my crop will be fine.

let's get started here, I'll be growing 2 strains that I've come to
enjoy for there very different quality's. first is my personal favorite
old grandad, I find for me it has excellent pain relief properties
and with over 20 years in the construction industry, these old bones can use the relief. The second is route 66, I call this one
my "forget about it " weed, as I can't usually find "my own ass with a road map and a funnel" after I smoke it, let alone remember what the hell I was looking for, but hey that's ok too !

here's some pic's of the cloning process, as you can see I let my
mother plants get a little big ,but I like bigger clones, I find them
easier to deal with and have more success with them.
I'll update the photo's as we go, once we get some roots going
in 10 to 14 days.

quick up-date

quick up-date

my aero cloner was giving me crap, it worked great when the outdoor temps were -40 Fahrenheit below 0, but now as spring mercifully approaches and the snow begins to recede, I noticed it was running a bit warm, at or slightly above 80.
generally I can control the temps by the amount of water in the
reservoir, but with only a 12 gallon capacity I was maxed out .
so I picked up a 24 gallon resv. and cut the lip off the rim, now
the top slips inside the resv. and works like a back wards umbrella,
completely eliminating any drips or leaks.

still waiting on them roots, but it's chopping time for others .
here's a picture of some completed old grandad slated for death
tonight, it never produced as well as it's counter parts, so I let it
continue to run for and extra 20 day's, still a little scrawny but it kicks some serious ass when ignited !

peace out , the sprout.

thanks bro

thanks bro

hey bro, thanks for clearing up the lineage of the strains for me,
you need no correction, that gunk I sent up north to got huge !
the chief told them, next year to keep that shit off his res, I
would have loved some pictures, but that's not how my native
friends roll, cameras come out and they are gone faster than a
30 point buck, that just smelled your ass !:Bolt:

still waiting on them roots, and I know this probably breaks some
protocol, but lets take a peek in my flower room and see them
raptors that were first shown in your thread "potheads bunker"
they have about 2 maybe 3 weeks left, and as you can see they
grown a little bit.... OK alot. nice and sugarie that's for sure, can't
wait to pack some up for a test ride !

started that batch of old grandad, on the defoliation for high yield technic, from the early looks of things it seems to be working very
well , with the bud sites nice and close together and lots of them.

good to here the laughter return to your voice, and I'm glad momma's home and safe with you. good things coming your
way for sure bro, peace and I love you man, talk soon !

getting everything ready

getting everything ready

Hey everyone , just spent 3 hours getting everything ready.
Now I know some of the old timers here are probably thinking,
Zzzzzz, and I understand, cleaning up your equipment is about
as boring as it gets, but it's important.

As you can see from the pictures below, the roots have started
to pop and I'll be transplanting them tomorrow. I added the nutes
and adjusted the PH, though I expect it to rebound slightly by
tomorrow to around 6.2 to 6.3 as it usually does the first day,
I'll readjust it back to 5.8 and from then on it stays pretty steady.
The oakton meters take out all the guess work out of PH and tds's. I cleaned up the lights and the reflectors, vacuumed up the room, sprayed for bugs, all systems go.

moving day.

moving day.

alright lets move on here, the next obvious step is to transplant
them ladies into some coco and get them some food. I reset the
PH back down to 5.8 and precharged the coco, I like the net pot
for veg, there fairly inexpensive and allow the roots to grow
through and expand into to white trays. eventually I will have to cut them apart, but we'll get to that later. Since I work out of a
basement insects are always an issue, and I prefer to be pro active in this area, get them before they attack my plants.
I use two types of insect control, first is a foliage spray called
Einstein, it's an oil that stops insects from exchanging gases
by plugging up the air holes in their thorax, the second is a powder called diatomaceous earth, it is made from fossilized
phytoplankton and is a mechanical means of pest control, meaning no chance of building up any resistance. It's like
crawling through razor wire and broken glass, not good if your a bug.

see ya in two weeks , I'll begin the defoliation for high yield
technique in my next post,

peace out, the sprout !

Everything looks good man!

Those strains sound sooooo tasty, I'm curious... have to tag this one.

Love the clean setup and solid prevention measures.

Peace

no need to defoliate those plants man

no offense to the fine genetics that you and my brother worked
so hard to perfect, and they are perfect, but with my Lil~flower
room 3x8x8 with a 2x4 flood tray, space is at a premium and with
6 plants in there it's way cramped. I have a 4 bedroom house and
all 3 of the kids are grown and gone, so I plan to build a much nicer room in one of the spare rooms, until then I gotta go with
what I got.

MileHighGuy, thanks man I'm honored that you would tag my thread, it's my first grow thread and I know most of this stuff is pretty basic, but my hope is that some day, maybe in a few months, perhaps a 100 years from now, a couple of stoners
will read this and go "dude" and those two will go on to find some seeds and grow some weed, get as high as a giraffes ass, erect a giant shrine
in my honor making me a god and worshiping this thread like it was a holy text, passing the information on to the generation of stoners !

huh, oh.... sorry I drifted off there for a second, but seriously I hope when I'm all done, that this does help someone achieve there goals of growing some decent buds.
peace out, the sprout.
