Optic8 LED Scrog - Terpenado, Purps, Cataract Kush, AK47, SuperLemonHaze, Sugar Punch

Back to the grow life after a long break.
This is what I'm working with this winter season:

Gorilla Grow Tent 120
Optic 8+ LED
680m3/hr exhaust dimmable

Terpenado (Bodhi) x 3
The Purps (BC Bud Depot) x 4
Cataract Kush (DNA) x 2
AK47 (Serious Seeds) x 2
Super Lemon Haze (GreenHouse) x 2
Sugar Punch (Sannie's Seeds) x 3

Style: Coco Drip To Waste
Nutes: Canna Coco Line

I tried to pop 25 seeds. I'm not sure why, but only 15 germinated. These are all feminized except for Terpenado. I'm going to scrog these babies, clone them all, harvest in Jan/Feb, then run my personally selected clones for a spring harvest.
I've been using a 600w HPS for years. This is the first time I'm using the Optic8+ LED and I'm planning to follow this light intensity schedule.

Optic 8+ NEXT GEN (1)(3).pdf

6 - 15 days in veg
Temps: Avg 24 - 27C
RH: 35 - 45%

I feel they look a bit pale now, so I will slightly increase the nutes. They will be transplanted into their final 1 gal pots in a few days then get their first neem oil treatment.

I always enjoy the process of growing but I can't wait to see if I can find some keepers in here.
So yea feel free to follow my journal and share your thoughts. I'm planning to update at least once a week. Peace out!

Day 20 - 29 in Veg

Temp: 20C - 24C
RH: 45% Avg

I repotted all 15 into their final 1 gal pots. PURP #1 and #4 came thru last, so they are only 16 days old. The Purps #1 came out of the seed like a mutant, the first 2 sets of leaves were just single blades, then it stopped growing for a few days. Fortunately she's coming through now.

They've been sprayed down with neem oil a couple days ago and they took it real well. I killed a fungus gnat and haven't seen another one since. Occasionally I see one or two fruit fly looking insect flying around the lights. I plan to spray the plants with a milk spray solution in a few days, which is supposed to prevent PM. I've had a nightmare battle with PM once and I've done this ever since.

I'm giving them the lower end of the recommended dose of Canna Coco A+B and still see some yellow tips and curling down. I'm currently watering them once a day and gradually increase to multiple feeds per day. PH 5.6 - 6.2.

Yo greenops
How are you liking the optic8?
Gonna get busy in there very soon. Subd

:gday:

Hey mate!
The Optic8 is doing good so far. The only bad thing I can say for now is, I didn't expect the noise from the built in internal fans. It's slightly louder than the noise that my exhaust fan makes.
Yea for sure, gonna put the net up soon to keep them all in check.

Day 5 - 12/12

Temp: 20C - 24C
RH: 45% - 50% Avg

I topped them and took a cut each a couple days before I flipped the light schedule. Most of them have reached the net, but all 3 Sugar Punch plants remain pretty short. Must be the genetics.
Both Cataract Kush plants might have some issues as the edges and tips of the big leaves are turning yellow. Any idea what this could be? Deficiency or lockout?
(See the plant in the middle of this picture, top row):

day 5 (14).JPG

They've received their 2nd neem spray treatment and will spray them with a milk/water solution in a few days.

These 15 babies are getting strong, side branches shooting up and putting me in Scrog mode. I hope to see the 3 Terpenado's (reg seeds) show their sex soon.

Nice!

I think the yellowing could be light stress, Leds are pretty intense, some plants handle better then others.

re the fan is some Led fixtures, I agree they are a bummer, also and extra part to fail one day. Hopefully no time soon!

2 days flowering

I count the flowering time from the day the plants start producing more pistils. Therefore today is considered as Flowering Day 2.

Well, 12/15 plants did that 2 days ago, but the Purp #2 and #4 aren't showing pistils yet.
And the Terpenado #4 turned out to be male and has been removed from the tent.

80% from the cuts I took last time died, while the rest aren't rooting yet. Wondering what I'm doing wrong... I always follow a tutorial posted on here on how to weigh the rockwool cube so it's soaked just right... etc. Maybe I took the cuts too early in veg, or the new Clonex formula doesn't work the same, or I just suck at cloning. However, I took another batch of clones right before the flip, so I'm hoping to get some roots this time.

I'm dealing with some minor issues in regards to watering, as 2 pots take much longer til runoff than the rest.
Other than that it's been going steady. The SCROG is starting to fill up. Even the 3 short Sugar Punches are hitting the screen. Perhaps I'm just gonna let them shoot straight through it without weaving if they stay short.

The plants all received their milk spray treatment, so there's still some white residue left on the leaves. I'm probably going to give spray them with neem in a few days, before the bud production starts to kick in...

The scrog is fillin up, but the training is easily manageable. I sure hope they will stretch some more.
2 of The Purps phenos look to be about a week behind the rest going into flowering phase.
I think I will do a trimming session sometime next week to allow more light in.

It got really cold lately so the tent didnt exceed 22 C even with the lights on. I bought a small heater fan couple days ago to raise the temp to 25-27C in the tent. The increase in temperature helped the humidity to stay at around 50%.

I gave them some PK13/14 this week. Looks like the majority stopped stretching. Some smells are becoming noticeable now.
The 2 slow flowering Sugar Punch phenos are finally in flowering mode. Looks like they're going to take 2 weeks longer to finish than the rest.

The plants were responding well to the temperature increase as some of the weaker branches of the Sativa Purple Punch Pheno are getting much stronger now.
I'm steadily increasing the light intensity and next week the Optic 8 will be on full power.

But unfortunately a week ago when I was checking out the buds, I saw a seed in the SLH. I checked the branches and found more seeds. I proceeded to inspect the entire grow, which is a bit complicated in a weaved in scrog, and finally found nanners on ALL 4 of The Purps! This is such a letdown, as I was especially looking forward to this strain. I never had purple genetics before and the Purps #3 was looking very promising. I removed all four Purps from the tent and hung them. I'm thinking if I should make hash out of these 3.5 week flowering Purps. .The remaining plants in the tent are seeded, some more so than others.

So we're in week 6 of flowering.. the Optic 8 is now on full power. The buds of the of the Sugar Punch 3 and Super Lemon Haze 3 are getting pretty fat. The SLH3 smells just like how I remembered it from Amsterdam. I think I'm done with defoliation and from now it's pretty much cruise control. The Sugar Punch 1 and 2 (Sativa Phenos) are still clearly behind and are just now putting on more weight. I will def gonna let them go a few weeks more than the rest.
