White calyx? White buds? Rot?

I've seen that happen.. its from the rate of photosynthesis. it's too slow from lack of light. This is not uncommon. I had some really dense plants that do that. It happens more so under LED. Anywhere there isn't enough light.

Are these spots more susceptible to developing molds?

It would need more than the lack of light to grow mold. Moisture, temp , Air flow would be something to look out for. Lack of light alone would not be an issue.
