"At the end of 'Letter to Sado', the Daishonin writes: 'I want people with seeking minds to meet and read this letter together for encouragement' (WND-1, 306).

"This passage underscores the importance of us gathering together and studying even a single sentence or passage of the Daishonin’s writings. Doing so is a vital element in fostering capable people for kosen-rufu."

"The seeds of Buddhahood sprout as a result of conditions."*
To meet with people is in itself kosen-rufu.
With a spring in our steps,
let's get out and see our friends!

The seeds of Buddhahood.

Often I worry that our youth are not properly informed of what the goal of study and meditation is. I hope others could be exposed early in life to Buddhist principles.

My belief is that teenagers should be able to have an experience but that they often miss out on this time of great potential change. This change makes us see important truths about ourselves and our world.

Today I will chant for the teenagers who are very important to Rosen Kufu. A few oldfuks preaching the higher laws could help them achieve the greatest goal of all.

Meditate and study young adults because it is your world to make again. The biggest change you need to make is in yourselves. By standing up as a hero you will be a warrior of goodness making your world a better place.

Just start with this divine word of power.

NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO... Close your eyes and see the words as you say the words...calm your body and mind. Focus on the chant and breath deeply.

Numb your bodies with your mind and insights will come. You may even have an enlightening experience that could change your view of the universe and your place in it.

Come on space cadets!!! This is the most far out exploration there is. You can leave your body temporarily if you succeed. It should happen. It's meant to happen.

When it happens to everyone Kosen Rufus will happen and the world will change to a peaceful place.

So yes Tom, I think we should chant for peace and tranquility, order and Kosen Rufu.

BOG.

"President Mandela wrote the following while in prison: 'Honour belongs to those who never forsake the truth even when things seem dark and grim, who try over and over again, who are never discouraged by insults, humiliation and even defeat.'[1]

"Our world remains in the throes of violent conflict, hunger, a vast disparity in wealth and poverty, human rights violations, environmental destruction and the perils of nuclear weapons, all of which threaten our very survival as a species.

"Yet, I believe that we will be able to see the light at the end of this long, horrific tunnel as long as we do not lose hope, just as President Mandela forged ahead step by step with indomitable resolve while confined in the deep darkness of his cell."

"If there is no hope to be found, let us create it. If there is no light to revel in, let our lives shine like the sun.

"Even a single individual, when he or she allows hope to dawn in their lives, the light it casts will brighten our families, our society and our country, bringing about a sweeping transformation. We call this process of change 'human revolution.'"

"Reviewing the course of human history, we can see how people have always divided others into allies who will support them, on the one hand, and enemies who must be destroyed, on the other. This grim process of conflict and division has continued unabated. Even today in the 21st century, the tragedy of ethnic and political conflicts—sometimes conducted under the banner of religion—sadly endures.

"Once human beings have fixed ideas or notions, they easily become prisoners to them. That’s why it’s so important for us to break through the walls in our hearts and return to our shared common ground as human beings, as people who share life on this planet. Through sincere actions and dialogue that promotes mutual understanding, we must together reaffirm the ideal of building a peaceful and happy society.

"Humanity can only attain harmony and prosperity by pursuing this path of coexistence and cooperation based on the universal and eternal values of respect for life and human dignity, while recognising and affirming cultural diversity.

"The key to this transformation is wisdom and compassion...."
