"Now is the time to challenge yourselves wholeheartedly for kosen-rufu. Strive in your activities with the spirit of shouldering full responsibility for the SGI. That is the way to your own personal human revolution.

"Who are the greatest victors in life? Those in the spotlight? No. It is those who have attained spiritual victory. They are the true and eternal victors."

"It makes no difference if the practitioner himself is lacking in worth, defective in wisdom, impure in his person, and lacking in virtue derived from observing the precepts. So long as he chants Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, they will invariably protect him."

(On Prayer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 345) Selection Source: Kyo no Hosshin, Seikyo Shinbun, November 19th, 2012

I HAPPEN TO KNOW FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE THAT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

All of the challenges that we take on for the sake of kosen-rufu are perfect pportunities for us to change our karma. With the momentum created by chanting vibrant daimoku,
let's take action! Let's create a new chapter in our own personal history!

"Our chanting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is directed towards our human revolution. We don’t just sit and wait for people or circumstances to change. Through our own powerful inner resolve, we change ourselves and seek to exert a positive effect on our environment and all those around us."

"We are trailblazers, heroic individuals paving new paths forward. With the heart of a lion king, let’s each elevate our state of life, help others form a connection with the Daishonin’s Buddhism, foster capable people for kosen-rufu, and triumphantly open a new age of Soka.

"'Sharing a vow
from the remote past—
let us once again this year
resolutely build
a great citadel of victory.'"

Let's take the initiative in greeting other people.
Just a few caring words of concern
can open the door to other's hearts.
Brimming with a fresh vibrant and youthful spirit,
let's energetically start the new year!

"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

Wise and sincere words. We must always value our selves and be aware of the "seeking approval" tendencies that many of us exhibit in our lives.

excuse me if I do not speak English well. how many beautiful words in this 3d :comfort:

"Speaking of the power of praise, the Daishonin writes: 'The more gold is heated in the flames, the brighter will be its colour; the more a sword is whetted, the sharper it will become' (WND-1, 673). Let us praise and encourage the innate goodness and talent of children, which are like gold or a fine sword. I hope you will search out each child’s strengths and the areas where they are challenging themselves, sincerely praising them whenever the opportunity presents itself."

"Wishing our partners would practise Buddhism is the natural expression of our concern for happiness in the family. But arguing about religion and allowing it to become a source of conflict is counterproductive. The important thing is to remember our original intent — our partner’s happiness. We should reach out to our partner with words and actions filled with love and kindness. That’s the Buddhist way."

The inviolable rules of dialogue
are to "listen" carefully,
"respect" what the other person has to say
and always have the attitude to want to "learn" from them.
Let's become people of sincerity and earnestness!
