Finally got started!

Well after picking seeds, dealing with seed banks, picking seeds again then out of stock, picking again, long shipping time, picking a medium, etc...I finally got started.

So I started Tuesday about midnight and put the seeds in water. By Wednesday evening they had all sunk to the bottom so they went into wet paper towels and ziplocks. Thursday they sat on my DVD player next to the cable box for warmth. They stayed right at 78-79 deg..I checked on them around lunch time Friday and all 6 had germinated! From just cracked to maybe 1/8" tail. I couldn't plant until later. So after dinner I went to plant them and I couldn't believe how much they had grown. Half were a 1/2" and the rest were like 3/4" long! That seemed fast to me.
So into the soil they go, and and only a few hours later one sprouted! Woke up Saturday two more just breaking the surface, and two others peeking out mid afternoon and the final one pushed its shell up a few hours later. So fingers crossed my luck will continue. I'll try to post a pic, and if no one minds I'll show their progression.
Thank you to all that gave me advice and those that posted great info in the past. Ive learned a lot!

awesome deke'! this is where your the adventure begins
yeah there is a pic of your little sprout, is your soil really that red?
/most likely a white ballance thing
what kind of dirt are you growing in
of course no one would mind you posting regular updates and pics of your grow
thats what we do here and pictures tell way more than words alone

so what strain did you end up going with?

Thanks. Yeah its the camera. I'm using a 600w COB Led light I'll have two eventually. It's really just kind of pinkish but up close its more natural looking.
I've got 2 White Widow, 2 Critical 2.0 XL, 2 Blueberry Domina.
The soil is Detroit Nutrient Company water only soil. I've never used soil like this it's hydrophobic, it was weird just trying to prewater my pots. I still think I didn't use enough water? Should I water more? I keep seeing don't water seedlings for two weeks!? But the surface is wet 1/2-3/4" down then it feels dry? This part has me confused I don't want to stress the little ones.

rad!
how are your plants doing?
that sounds like a nice line up man, how big is your space?
ive never heard of detriot nutrient co, how did you find out about that?
thats weird that you find their soil hydrophobic, maybe it was super dry andjust needs a good soaking to get it rehydrated ?
there are also wetting agents you can buy out there or even a tiny bit of dish soap
you could also try water from below by putting the container into a tub of water and letting the capillary action do its thing

Hey sorry i didnt see this sooner.
Plants are well. I tried to kill one, she got too tall and fell over. I hope she toughens up and.stands on her own soon.
Detroit Nutrient is in Michigan, Very highly thought of up there.
Great customer service! I emailed Thomas the owner, and he filled me in on what was happening. He was answering emails about his soil before I ever placed an order. And super prompt getting back to me. Says a lot IMO.
I'm pretty sure i didn't water enough. I was so afraid to over water, I under did it. Fingers crossed for the next couple months!

glad to hear the plants are doing all right
when my plants need a little support i like using wood or bambo
if the plant is really small you can use a chop stick like you would get atone of those take out places, or score yourself a bunch of bamboo sticks to help hold the plants upright
thats a nice story to hear about the good customer service and i hope you are enjoying your grow

Looks like I'll be cutting a couple down this weekend. The rest I'll watch over the next week or two. 2 plants haven't even shown any color change in the pistils but the tricomes are getting fat and cloudy?

Check with loupe/ magnifying glass (powerful) before you cut down.

I bought a jewellers loupe. The two short Critical plants are ready. Tricomes are cloudy and swollen, and she's yellowing at an accelerated rate. The others , well one will be ready inside of a week. The two WW's are killing me, no sign of wanting to finish.
These two are ready IMO.

You can cut one of them an give the other some extra days ( 5-7 day more ) , so you can have a good experience for your next grow .

Cut only if you got some amber in my opinion :tiphat:
