Sweet bigmone. I saw this on the news last night and totally forgot to post it. I live in this great state so im really excited and hoping this will happen. I'll do as much as i can to see that it happens. So far weve been able to get medical marijuana legalized in detroit(only using it is legal in det.) and Ann Arbor where they have laws setup like californias. Also in Ann Arbor its only a $25 ticket for an oz or under or for tokin. Lets get this passed. peace and *bong* :friends:

you GO, Michiganders!

you GO, Michiganders!

Even though I no longer live in Michigan, it's my home state.
I'm quite proud of the great strides Michigan has made in the fight in these years since I've left the state.
Even though I no longer live there, you can give me all the credit. Me leaving Michigan was the best thing to ever happen to the state. Like a curse being lifted. The year I left the state, the Red Wings won the cup
So there ya go. Thank me, cooked cook :biglaugh:
Rock on Michigan. Keep fightin the fight.

One State at a time!!!

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A Republican lawmaker has introduced a bill in the state Senate to legalize marijuana for medical use.

Sen. Vincent Leibell, from Dutchess County, offered the measure, which would let doctors prescribe marijuana to patients with life-threatening, degenerative or permanently disabling conditions.
Leibell told the New York Post the controversial bill is not the same thing as decriminalization pot, but is just an exception for "a narrow part of the population under closely controlled medical standards."
The bill in the Republican-controlled state Senate differs slightly from one in the Democrat-controlled Assembly.
But Leibell and Assembly Health Committee Chairman Richard Gottfried, a Manhattan Democrat, plan to hold a bipartisan press conference on the issue Tuesday -- along with television talk show host Montel Williams.
Williams is prescribed medical marijuana by a California doctor to help deal with his multiple sclerosis.
Last year, he urged Governor Pataki and Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno to follow the 10 states that have legalized cannabis for medical purposes.

I ditched Michigan a long time ago but spent most of my life there. I love the lakes and it is a great state but the Pigs suck there. Not all of them but some and I was never busted but I left when the Republicans ruined the place. Engler led the Republicans to ruin our state and now they want to legalize pot. Yeah, that'll be the day. I hope so and if they do perhaps I will move back. BOG

Yeah John Engler was a buttmunch but the new Governer Jennifer Granholm on the other hand is all about bringing money to the state hell she probably gets HIGH too-lol. And I could imagine all the people who would move to Mich if this did happen lol. BIG

Now that's more like it. We all need to support NORML and get bills like this to the forefront. However we may do so. Good luck to Michigan.

Heres some more good news from Michigan. I saw the mayor of Ferndale on Local news last night supporting this and most of the people there support it also. :woohoo: I have a good feeling it will pass. The way things are going here lately the whole state should have it in the next couple years. Heres the article that was on the stations site.

Medical Marijuana In Ferndale? It May Happen
Topic of Drug For Medicinal Purposes Is Smoking

POSTED: 6:11 pm EDT August 22, 2005

Medical marijuana has some people in Ferndale all worked up and its giving the term grassroot politics a new meaning.

Many Ferndale residents think marijuana should be available for medical purposes. Now, a petition about the issue could be put on a November ballot for voters to decide.

But Ferndale police chief Michael Kitchen is against the idea of medical marijuana in his town.

Kitchen said he doesn't think legalized pot will "fly in this community."

Ten states already have laws that allow doctors to prescribe the green drug for illnesses like glaucoma or to ease pain associated with cancer or AIDS.

If approved, Ferndale would be the third Michigan city to allow medical marijuana use. Detroit and Ann Arbor voters approved it last year, according to the Associated Press.

Currently, Michigan state laws and federal laws prohibit the sale and use of the drug.

"To prosecute people who are ill, (that's a) poor choice of resources," said Ferndale Councilman Craig Covey.

Should prescription medical marijuana be legal?

No 2132 13%
Thanks for taking our survey. Check back later for updated results.

Thought some peeps would like to know. Peace and *bong* :friends:

I used to live in Rochester Hillz. Nice place. Medicine is what people need, so I am sure they'll get it. Hey Zepp, you know they just discovered ultram's painkilling properties accidently? They haven't even figured it out after testing; just prescribe and pray I spose. Only drug out there like that that I'm aware of.

Yeah still getting signatures. Im sure they'll get enough to get it on the ballot. Ferndale is home to a lot of different alternative lifestyles so the people there are pretty open minded. If it gets on the ballot its gonna pass by a huge margin. Peace and *bong* :friends:

im not trying to shoot it down but the feds will have their way regardless of states rights and oppinons. i think thats been astableshed (at least hear in northern cali) i mean the feds do work in every state of the union, and they work outside of local law enforcment. id hate to see this buitifull enitutive be passed only to be underminded by federal othority. id think that the lawmakers would keep the federal stance in mind when they make their desision but their will allways be a conflict with state and federal policy. :dueling: :badday: :dueling:
