This is oh so confusing.
I need black and white direction...
Like trust the science.... that right there just gives me the warm fuzzies..

Here's some thoughts for those under my current age of 50:
Scientists, doctors and politicians knew, before I was born, that cannabis is not a harmful drug. They knew we had food, drinks, air, medicine, etc that is more harmful. Yet, trillions of dollars have been generated with the war on cannabis. They know. They have known, and they don't care. If it goes legal, it will be because they have a plan to control it. All of it. And if they control it, it means they will have to stomp out a resistance they have not been able to for 90 years. They can't kill us all. They are finding it increasingly difficult to hand down 20-life sentences. I just don't see how they can control it, therefore, I can't see how they can legalize it.
I mean it can’t be true.
We have to trust the science....

They’ll reform you right into a communist gulag if they had their way

^^ I assume you mean me? I am hardly hateful here. I was a bit harsh with my counter to your post maybe? If you had what I have had said about me on the political threads here you might make me look mild. After a while I give what I get like most would.
I mostly stay out of these threads for my wellbeing. I get would be pundits and 'intellectuals' spouting talking points they get from CNN and the like and anything going against that is instantly slammed along with my intellect. Funny none of it ever really refutes what I say, never happens.

Dude, have a look at what you've become. Gotta let go of other people's hatred.

I thought dems were the party of cheating in elections, like LBJ, JFK and keeping slavery a while ago. When a majority of the people of a country favor legalization or similar, it is rather easy and POPULAR. Oh forgot, also the party of giving things to people and enforcing victim identity. That has been popular just look at all the votes that hack Biden got and Kamala who might be worse than him.

A nice comedy but in real terms for me or the country a potential tragedy. My hope is Biden or worse Kamala, will achieve the least possible in implementing their objectives. I think we know their ultimate objectives are all self oriented. They can not do half of what they promised without wrecking the economy and country, I think they know that really. All the giveaways and open border crap.
Really, I think pot might be one of the things Biden or Harris do get around to. The nation favors decriminalization or outright legalization overall. It is a win for them at this point. Other than removing a dangling carrot for future politicians to promise freeing the weed, they will just piss off some old time 'conservatives' and religious fanatics. Those were already lost to them. There are still a few mostly older left or liberal types that do not want pot legal, they are a dying and irrelevant group.
There is really nothing conservative about prohibition, just one part of society bullying another part about their personal choices. There was hashish residue found on ancient Jewish temple stones or alters. None of these wingnut types has any logical basis in reality for wanting pot banned. In Holland there is less percentage use of pot by minors or adults than US, I think Portugal is similar.
Initially there will be an uptick of use of pot after legalization but that will not last. Curiosity will be satisfied. Not that more use of pot would be bad imo.
it will be a net political win for them
but will likely mean some sort of legalization lite
the legal framework will be determined in the states
but taxes will be extracted somehow, political win + new revenue = political wet dream, really is 'winning'
