Dispensary Diaries!
I was talking to Gypsy the other night and he suggested that I start a thread about my new job.
I work at a med mj collective, It hasn't been open very long and its the first one in this area, so its a pretty big deal here, even tho its Cali the collective idea hasn't made it here till now.
I cant count the number of ppl that stop in to see what we are, and what we "do here". When they hear what we do they are "right on". its about time! What do I have to do to join? is another common question.
Then there are the ppl that are members, and what they tell me is so amazing!! How they have suffered for so many years and taken so many pills they have lost track. But give them a puff or 2 from a joint or a cookie at night to help them sleep and they don't need those damn pills anymore that just make them feel nothing. With the med mj they can function and make it thru their day relatively pain free.
I still pinch myself that I work there and get to help ppl everyday, I hope nothing happens to stop that.
Ill check back in to tell you more conversations and stories that people tell me. What I love is most ppl think they are the most pickiest connoisseur of marijuana and they pick some nasty smelling meds, some I wont even try! hehe

I worked yesterday, It was pretty busy, it being the first of the month, we had a pretty steasy day. We are up to 300 members, only been open a month, and its not that populated an area so Im pleased with that.
We have this one lady that comes in, Ill call her Sherry[not her real name] and she talks about all the stuff that has happened to her in her life, she has cancer and just finished chemo, her hair is starting to come back. She is prob in her 50's maybe, and looks like she has been thru the ringer, but has a wonderful heart and a great spirit! ...has said many times that she would be dead if not for marijuana, and I believe that.
She said that she was arrested for having a tomato leaf in her trash back in the 70's hehe it was funny,she said that every time she sees a tomato she thinks of that.
We have so many awesome members, its so rewarding to help them. We are getting more and more varities of marijauna now, and when the outdoor start to come in it will be even better.
Our varities change so much, we have had some trainwreck, bubba, and master kush, they have all been pretty decent.Then theres the funky looking weed, not sure what ppl do to it to make it look and smell so icky, thats about the best I can describe it. hehe
The owner had 3 dispensaries and is looking to open more. Pretty soon they will all over around here, hopefully!

Good to read about people doing for others. Want to mention on visiting AK has a medical law in place but oddly no dispensaries.

Wow what an awesome job!

I'd love to work in that kind of environment. So rewarding that you can help people, especially this aspect.

Can't wait to see some pics.
