after reading about soil and knowing that I wouldn't be able to tend the darlings daily, I decided to go hydro - but I can't really call it DWC, so I made MDWC: Micro Deep Water Culture:
the first round was Nirvana Northern Light. I followed the steps and germed and then used SugarBear's sprouter:
(sorry, image limitations... to be continued...)
Trimmed wet weight, 37 g, was an unexpected pleasure... then the real pleasure was
four out of five germed, and into the sprouter like I should have done the first two times
The babies went into MDWC a week ago; the nutes are GH at Lucas veg rates... they seem happy enough:
Now, it seems like a great idea, but I need to go back to the post and see exactly what was used, because those damn roots do what they want:
Perhaps the sandletoe was a fashion faux paux?
Here's the update: The screen is full, I'm flipping them over to 12/12 this evening... if the first grow pattern holds true, these guys are gonna be up to the lights in no time... keep your fingers crossed for all girls.
Here's the gratuitous root shot:
The roots are healthy and it is easy to keep them separated, but not sure I want to dress the ladies up next time!
BTW, I found FreezerBoy's orginal post here, and figured out too late that he use pump filter bags to keep his roots apart... doesn't hurt to try, man!
As expected, the growth is starting to multiply now that we're at 12/12... I was a little exuberant in trying to get everything below the screen and broke the top off one of the babies... had a nice salad for dinner, but it broke my heart to lose all those possible buds
They're proving to be as thirsty as the previous bunch; when I switch to flower on Monday, I also switched out the nutes with a full rez... they had the gallon down to about a cup and a half
Looking healthy, promise to have pics next time around.
screen is filling in nicely, plants look green and happy.
hope they are all girlies for ya.
whats better than a set of twins?
