I have started a new thread that has left off of my older scrog grow thread because I am no longer scroging.

Instead I will be posting about my new six system 300 watt, 30 plant, sog, DWC hydro grows. I'll be harvesting five plants every ten days if I don't screw anything up. Which is impossible. I'm hoping to get 14 grams per plant or more from each system.


Of course I have to give all my inspiration and credit to Stony419 for his sog growing skillz and making me drool all over myself and of course the one and only DrBudGreengenes. Thank you.

Okay, Lets talk about the hydro system. They are 9.8 liters each and are filled with about two gallons of water. It puts the water level at about a quarter inch from the bottom of the net pot ware I need it. After cutting the right amount/size of holes in the lid, I cover with duct tape and painted black. added an air stone and pump.







I use 2" net pots to hold the plants up along with hydrotone.

Right now im doing the SOG in soil similar to Dr. Greenbuds but im getting really tired of watering everyday and i started to consider doing a hydro setup similar to what you have going but im wondering how big the plants are going to get not being root bound like i have them in soda bottles. i was going to do long and narrow trays that were about 5 inches deep and would house a single row of plants. this way i could have different PPM of nutes for different stages of growth and then have a tray that was just water for "flush Station" since all plants would be in different stages of growth. ill be watching to see how you come out.

The only reason I didn't grow soil in the bottles is watering. I go on vacation for more than 4 days and will not chance loosing my girls. The hydro system allows tha fast growth with high yields with these little micro systems. Their is more of a stretch because of no restrictions on the root systems. My cab is built 40 inches high so I did account for a longer stretch which has paid off. I flower my clones at about 1,2,and 3 inches. My blueberry reach about 12 to 16 inches when flowered at one of those hight. Of course different strains need different flowering hights. But my blueberry does have quit a bit of indica and it made a very good stretch.

The narrow trays are a great idea. It's the only idea I could come up with that would solve ppm problems and fit in such a small area using soil.

I'm hoping for about 10 grams a plant but an average of 15 to 20 grams a plant is my goal. In about 7 days we'll all know what's going to happen.

Hey Connoisseur300, Great minds think alike. I have ran hydro tables before myself and I have learned tons from Stoney and yamaha. When I ran a 4 X 8 table I was only getting 2lbs per table with two 1k lights. And I thought I was the man. I am new to this SOG, SCROG and Micro growing. But I had the same idea of putting the two together if you run a SOG and have no Veg time with female clones you don't have to worry about them getting 4-5 foot high and the best bud is the top bud anyway so I am trying to put it all together as well. But for personal use I prefer soil for the taste and quality but to each his own. I know it would be Ideal being able to not worry about all that soil and getting away with just a container with expanded clay And if I was making bud for quantity thats the way I would do it. But you can't beat those Dr.Budgreens methods he is the man! Good luck with your grow I will be watching. I am going to start up with some new strains so you are way ahead of me if you already have the clones your gonna run most of the strains I have are best grown in to big plants I have some Blueberry I may try though? I was thinking it would get to big? But if it worked for you maybe I should let it run. peace man thanks for sharing your grow.

Yes, this micro growing shit is bad ass. I also have grown with multiple 1000w rooms and find the most fun with these little suckers. I'm telling you, I love it.

I also prefer organics for personal use. :angrymod: :Bolt:

I'll switch to organic hydro when I find out how to controll the ph. I've tried to grow with Advanced Nutes Mother Earth line and the ph skyrockets then shoots down in just a couple of hours. I have no idea if it has something to do with DWC or what?? That is the only reason I'm not all organic.

I'm sure your blueberry will work just fine. I'm going to flower my kalimist in this system and I think it will also work out great. I have a blueberry along with some more DWxGB clones getting the chop in about 9 days from now and let me tell you she is looking good. I'm also adding another unit with 5 more blueberry clones that will flower at about an inch as soon as I finish typing this to you. Keep it green. Peace

Thanks and welcome to ICmag. I think DWC is the best way to grow in micro setups. Now if I could go organic hydro that would be nice but I have a lot of senthetic ferts right now that I have to use up.

Final weight of the first sog system through my cab is a whopping 75 grams! I'm sure i'll loos a couple more grams but thats ok. I believe when cured i'll have a solid 2 1/2oz.

I am very happy with the results and have a lot of room to improve. 3 solid ounces every 10 days is a realistic goal for this system. Possibly more. 4 oz a system? You think? Man I'm stoned. here's a pic of the dried buds.

2 and 1/2oz is good for your first run.I say aim higher than 4 oz cause thats only 1.33 gpw and u don't want that u want 2.1 gpw :muahaha:.I got ya tagged :redface:

Yes,Yes 2.1gpw is what I want. I'll be trying my damdest to search for new mothers that will allow me to reach those numbers and keep the quality in my pot.

Going from 4 to 6 ounces every two and a half months to 15 or more every eight weeks is what I call one hell of an improvement with just changing the type of system I use. Plus the main part I like about this system is I can be smoking with multiple strains on just a couple of harvests.

I have a little root porn for everyone. these are blueberry clones 10 days into flower. After adding Superthrive B-1 from Tecnaflora plant products I have seen a huge difference in growth of the root system.


Check out the roots on my Mothers Finest clone. This clone in perticular is going in a cup with soil and added to the flower room for sexing. What is it called when roots come flying out the side of the stem? I think it has something to do with having more hormones for root production than the averge strain.

^^^wat kind of math is that?

75g./300w = .25 gpw

gpw does not werk. not all strains can produce to that standard...

i'll be following ya around on this one if ya dont mind..i am settting my dwc closet up as we speak..i will be running a 6 bubblers in a closet and am building a mommy cab out of totes..i am after 10 oz's every 10 weeks ..i may run more bubblers but i'll see after my first run..

Thanks. I use a bubbler cloner. Works like a charm everytime.

The "little blue things" are actually like a dense sponge that doesn't hold water. What it is is a floating device for kids to use in a pool and I believe it's called a Noodle. They come in about 4 foot long and you can get them almost anyware.

Will you be groing perpetually or flowering all at once? One plant per bubbler?

I don't mind the Q's at all. Keep'em comming.

i was thinking 1 per bubbler but i figure i'd see what i got my first go round..

my plan was to keep the mommy in the totes and clone using the bubbler cloner ..i read ya can get a nice root started in about 10 days with straight water but i figured i'd use hormons to make sure ..any suggestions i am greatly thankful for..first indoor unless ya count a couple male and females i grew in an attic window about 25 yrs ago..but as my buds get ready i figure about a week or so before harvest i'd start my next set of clones..so yes i guess it would be perpetuall...as one finishes i'll usher in the next clones..

i've been watching the docs new grow and that dudes got it down to a walk in the park..



what ya think ..will it float ...


cool idea using the noodle or should i say "that's really using the old noodle"..hehe

The grow method will work out great. 10oz off 6 small plants is doubtful. Oh yeah how many watts are you using again? I think it was about a 150w cfl? Correct me if I’m wrong. Even if you gained 28g (1oz) off each plant you would still need another quarter pound to hit your goal. I have 300 watts of HID and I think with the right strain I might come close to one ounce of herb but I doubt it.

I know if you were to grow one plant in each hydro unit and didn't start them at the same time but started a clone in 10 day intervals until you have a full cab. Now you should be harvesting a plant every 10 days and having the choice of letting strains go for up to 70 days to mature. You could also use five buckets instead of six to harvest every 60 days and have extra room to throw in a long flowering sativa. Also when you grow perpetually all plants are at different heights which allows more light to penetrate the canopy and make for some bigger buds.

I have just learned that sog is a much better producer than a scrog. Both yield well but when both systems are tuned up, the sog out performs scrog or growing on a bimonthly basis any day hands down. I just switched from scrog to sog and I get a really good feeling I'm going to end up with more but that I could have thought of out of a little system like this. Variety too!

lets face it part of the reason i am doing this is because i cant stand messing with crackheads and junkies just to score a little weed..i have medical issues so they tend to take advantage of it..shit heads anyways..sorry didnt mean to go there..

i have 3 ft northern lights mommy a buddys giving me but i'll take a new mom off it and start them in the mommy cab..the 3 footer will be part of my outdoor grow this yr..i also have a 6 pack of ww growing now that i hope to take a couple mom from and put the rest outdoors also..

i like the idea of diffrent size clones making the canopy as i am under a stairway with my closet and the hieght of the ceiling changes with the staircase..something more for me to consider..

i was going for the scrog,i see a guy grew 10 oz off 1 chronic plant this way..but i am not locked into anything yet..he did keep the harvest going awhile tho..harvest some and then let the smaller lower buds fill in..

How large are the plants you plan on growing? With a larger plant you could get more than oz each.

Those are perfect reasons to grow your own. Stay away from that type of person and your life will be much richer.

Sound like perpetual sog is what your looking for. I'll get some pics of my staggard systems in a few. I love the way it looks and how I get to see the plants in different stages all the time. I find it very calming for me

It's no doubt that he has but the turn over is just too long. With a sog you will be harvesting more bud more often with more veriety. Also if you run into a problem it doesn't effect to entire grow. It's in it's own container contained and you dont loos your entire harvest. Instead of harvesting some every 10 days it'll just be 20 days then back to a ten day harvest. very forgiving system. :headbange
