New to the site, but not to growing. I have missed it so much! I've tagged a picture to this thread, albeit, an out of focus webcam pic, but I promise to have better pics in the coming days, cuz I am so proud of this grow. Years ago I was growing under 1k...nowadays, I'm going CFL. 332 watts in a cabinet measuring 1.6x2.5x6. "Daytime" temp 85f, maybe a little warm, but the humidity is a constant 40% (thanks central air). "Nighttime"temp is 70-72f. Not bad! Homemade carbon filter (thanks Red Greenery!)

I've got a total of 11 plants, all 12/12 from seed. Bagseed...back in the day it was all cloning...I'm gettin to that, just using this round as a beta for the future. Testing out water, soil, nutrients. Suprisingly, for where I am, check this out...

Pro-Mix (what I used years ago, so I have some familiarity) and Perlite
Alaska Ferts 5-1-1 fish emulsion, 0-10-10 bloom
Neem oil for pests (not a problem...knock on wood)
Tap water to water with (figure the peat in the Pro mix acts as a buffer) tap water ph is 7.5 (yikes...Iknow)...remember this is beta testing, since all these supplies are readily available year round.

One drawback...no rockwool. I'm forced to clone in peat pots...but for security reasons, no rockwool. Still though...by the looks of my girls...I've got a mix of satives, indicas, and possibly a cross...we shall see. I can get some real good bagseed.

Anywho, these plants have been under 12/12 for almost 2 weeks and have changed dramatically. Though I am takin it easy on the nutes, due to the tap water issues, and wanting to make sure my ph is correct.

I grew for over five years in the past, from seed and clone, under 400 watt scrog to 4k watt, sog. That was for money...this is for LOVE. SO here's to all that grow, legal, illegal, for love of money, or just love alone...my goal, to be a compassionate provider, I can grow this medicine...it's good for me, and could be good for you!

Sorry it's been a minute...haven't got a hold of a digi-cam yet, but was so eager to show these girls off, I just had to get up before their bedtime and break out the webcam. The pictures aren't of the best resolution, but I hope you enjoy, none the less...

All but one of these girls have been flowering for 32 days...




This is the third of three girls I am calling "pink grapefruit, pg". That's what they smell like, anyway...

The next couple of pictures are of a plant that reminds me of the G-13 I used to grow...so heavy, I swear, if I hold the plant to my nose, I can inhale the oil...can't wait for this heavy, oily smoke...







This next picture is one of three girls all growing in the same pot...the one pictured is reminiscent of blueberry...it looks fuzzy, but those are just the trichs!




Lastly, we have one of two sativas (at least that's how they are growing)...but I have the feeling that the wait will be worth it! These two girls are just over 12 inches tall...But, from the looks of them and their growth, they are going to be single colas of love





Overall, I am very pleased with this grow...All of these plants are being grown 12/12 from seed, single cola, sog, stylee...just to work out the grow space bugs and kinks...I've already popped eight more seeds...getting the perpetual thing going...

Bonus...here's the newest addition...a no name yet girl, but looking good after only five days of flower...




SO, that's the update...feel free to comment, suggest, encourage...

Grow4luv, I'm liking the bud formation you've got going on in some of those plants. I just began flowering 5 week old plants today. I'm curious to know about side growth as this run is strictly to select a mother, so yield isn't a huge deal to me. Gotta few questions for you too.

1. Did you get many side shoots at all that you had to prune off, I'm looking for a clone of each female?

2. Did you veg at all?

3. What size containers are you using.

Some advice on the tap water issues, if possible put an old ice chest, kiddie pool, or something to collect water in when it's gonna rain hard for a few hours and use that instead of your tap water. My plants have never looked so healthy. Just capful of H2O2 for every gallon of water to kill microbes. I'll post up some pics when the lights come on later tonight.

PhilosophyAskew...Thanks for your interest, encouragement, and tips. I some questions for you.

1. Are your current plants from seed? Do you know the strain?

2. Are you going to cut clones once you have sexed them, ie. "revegging" the clones? More to the point, how will you determine quality of mum's?

I guess once I see pics, I can say more. But after five weeks of veg, there should be at least two shoots you can use as clones

3. Does the H2O2 harm the beneficial organisms in soil?

Answers for you...I've been smokin, so excuse any rambling...

1. Not really. I could have. Past experience has shown me that if I remove the fan leave from the node where a shoot is emerging it will stimulate the growth of the shoot. But, that is during veg growth period. In a 12/12 grow, I remove only the shoots that I don't want to become popcorn buds, forcing more energy into bud production. I've done this in the past with standard growing with veg & flower periods. Even when doing LST, scrog, trellis, & christmas tree grows, leave fan leaves, but removing shoots forces energy into other parts of the plant.

It just depends on where you can grow, how much time you have, and your skill, I guess. I am growing in a cabinet, and I choose to do sog, so I can fit many plants in a tight space, but have a perpetual grow, harvesting a few plants every couple weeks. Due to my circumstance, I cannot have a huge grow...a man can dream though can't he? Getting high quality seeds...yeah, well, I just can't trust mail delivery, so it'll be a while. But my bagseeds are outta sight!

I use cfl's, so I can get the lights real close...like 1-2" away...only as long as there is proper ventilation (which I am still struggling with). On the two possible sativas...in the past under 1ks I remember a lot of branching due to having to keep the lights so dang far away...yeah even cool tubes...now...those branches are small little buds just creeping along the stem filling out

All my plants are under 18" tall and at least 1/3 thru flower...

3. The pot sizes vary, but none are larger than six inch diameter. However, after checking out the "shot glass" growing contest on this site...and hydro, as long as the root mass is healthy and can breathe, it's all good. Since I am only growing these plants for 2-3 months, I feel only two transplantings are necessary. I start the seeds in jiffy-pots, right in the things...forget towels and all that (I've even done it in rockwool cubes). Once they have their first cotyledans, into a beer cup they go. After about three weeks, I transplant them into there final pot. In the future that will be 6x6x8 inch pots...right now, just using what I have.

Well my wife came home early this evening and although she's cool with the grow, she's not cool with me taking pics and posting. I have a nice Nikon DSLR and it's kinda hard to hide so I'll have to wait on the pics for a couple of days until she works late again. I run my lights at night due to the heat.

I'll give you a quick rundown of my setup. I have 2 sets of 30 gal rubbermaid tubs stacked on top of one another in a closet that vents into the attic. Each tub has 4-42w warm cfls and 4-26 cool-blue cfls for a total of 272 watts per set of tubs. I also have a sheet of plexi-glass as a heat shield/cooling setup. I run both units off of a single 6" elicient inline fan with a speed controller and a pc fan in each tub to help aid in transpiration. The tubs only run about 4 degrees F over ambient so the tubs never really get over 78-79 F.

Here's the answer to your questions:

1) Yes they are all from seed, sprouting around 6/25/07. I have 16 total.
- 1 Durban Poison (Nirvana)
- 2 NLxHaze (Nirvana)
- 1 Sadhu (Mandala)
- 2 Hindu Kush (Nirvana)
- 2 Super Skunk (Nirvana)
- 8 from various nugs of unknown origin but all good quality

2) I was hoping to get clones from each confirmed female and choice males so that I could have some vegged and ready for flowering and breeding experiments as the room is not quite filled out yet. I usually pick moms after I've had the smoke properly cured and properly tested. Yield isn't important to me because It's personal smoke only.

3) I've always used H2O2 until the first or second week of flower. After that I normally make a molasses tea (to help with beneficial microbes) with my meta-naturals flowering formula and bubble it for 24 hours and adjust the pH to about 6.6-6.8.

Once things get a little sexier I want to create a thread detailing the entire setup. Weed for me in 8 weeks or less. :joint:

maybe to help with your heat problems run your lighting at night say 6pm-6am i live in a desert and must run lighting at night during summer. i have my 1k hps with in 2 ft of most plants tops i use a modded stanely blower fan http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=29341

Atmosphere...nice f'n seeds! I grew the NLxHaze back in "the day"...talk about a plant that can test your patience. Well worth the wait. Nice set up too! That is packin the wattage in, sounds like the heat shield really works. Can't wait to see your thread. I'm hoping to have a camera by the end of the weekend, so I can post some good porn...

Major...thanks for the advice. My problem seems to lie in not being able to create enough negative pressure...need a stronger fan, looking into the vortex line...I like your mod blower, how's the noise and vibes, I need to be ultra quiet!? It's somewhat fixed right now, but as this is a flowering cab. I have limited times to work. Temps during the "day" run up to 80f(38%RH) and down to 70 at "night". I only use out fans, cuz in fans blow heat(from the fan) into the cab, increasing the temperature by a minimum of 5 degrees f.

Mmmmm...just thought that I'd give an update...even though I only have a couple web cam pics. I, in my infinite paranoia, decided to go for higher security measures instead of a camera, better safe than sorry.

Had to cut three plants to make room for 12 seedlings. I had those plants planted together, was wierd watching them grow and steal nutrients from each other. One was N deficient, another was N super-charged, the 3rd, healthy as could be...they got the flush and chop. Tasty, nice buzz, low couch lock from cutting early. Nice though, refreshing...

Will be cutting three more next week, my best guess would be roughly 2-3 grams per plant. But, I'm not sure since I don't have scales(or bags...no intent to distribute, your honor, this is personal!)
I think I'm doing things right, trying to remember after years of inactivity. But, I'm not that worried about yield, just want enough for medicine, and to a little to share. But, it does look like I've got a perpetual harvest going here.

Anyway, just wanted to update, and maybe brag a little, but more importantly, share with those that can appreciate and understand what it's like to have to hide something that makes us happy, even from the ones we love.

I finally have some time to update what's been goin' on in tha trailer park...my work schedule has finally lightened up enough to devote the time to picture taking, photo uploading, and writin' this here thing, and lettin' y'all know what I've been up to...if anyone is watching...

Up to my elbows a month ago...


Then...I sold out, but can ya blame me for 400w HPS for less than a bennie(plus a free bulb)!?





But, I now I have a little veg space with the CFL's and flower with the HPS...not too shabby results

The temps are a little higher, so I had to dial-in new feeding regiments and account for more frequent waterings...and also a small algae problem, robbing the girls of N, but after covering the pots and adjusting N when feeding, they are beginning to look better, though they never looked bad!

I've got a couple mothers going, and have some minor bondage going on in the flower cab...plus some double cola action...











My apologies for the file size on the photos, but, the upside is, when you load them, the detail is nice...and so I try to choose the best pics to post, goin' for quality as opposed to quantity...
