Green Star Grow Bar

Just read an interesting article about this little guy here.

The light is called the "Eco Green Star Grow Bar" from Efficient Indoor Lighting Technologies.

It uses balanced LED light clusters and uses only 12 watts but promises to deliver the same lighting as 250-watt MH or HPS lamp saving YOU over 90% on energy bills. The LEDs also emit extremely little heat, you can put the lamp a lot closer to plants as well. Also apparently the tehcnology iof the set-up gives off zero "white light" glare.

I don't know about you but if you look at the graph on this page: http://www.efficientindoorlightingtechnologies.com/tech.html that looks a little bit sketchy, literally it looks like he sketched it himself.

Yeah the graph, its really not that big of a deal from what I can gather.

If you look at the spectrum intensities (how high on the graph Y axis) and the wavelenght emmitted byt he lights themselves, it looks to me as if the LED emmits a tiny sliver of wavelenght that is higher then that of HID.

The HID do produce more UNUSABLE light and heat and cost more to operate, but clearly produce more usable energy over the broader spectrum.

Least thats my take on on the graph.
