I have some AK-48 and some BOG Melody and some seeds I made of a couple of Strains I liked one was a bagseed but great weed wish it would have been that good when I bought the bag....lol I call her DR.G because she has a cough med type taste but not a bad taste and crossed one of her clones with a C-99 Dad cant wait till next grow so I can try it still in the oven stage....lol Hey do you find the soil here one place great the next sucks Yeah me2! Broward County here. I noticed on OG that there are many Florida growers, even though this state has some of the toughest cultivation laws in the nation. I personally think that it has much to do with the free spirited nature of us Floridians. I moved here in 1988, and have been here ever since. I absolutely love Florida, and any Floridian is a friend of mine.

I can't believe the number of operation popped here this year. Two houses in Tampa, two operations in Hernando (Brooksville), and another two last week I think in Pinellas. Be careful at the Hydro shops. I'm going outdoors this year hoping for good things from Sweet Tooth #3, #4, Tropicana, BOG beans.

I have already put out several clones for my class of 04 round. We had a little snap up here and was concerned about them but they seem to be doing fine. Dont really plan on much maintenance on them as they were extra clones and rather than see them die in the crisper I figured it would be better to give em all a chance.

Great to see Floridians here. Because of the draconian laws down here I've had no connection to the outside world of cultivation. So the computer has change everything

Wow this is great.

I grow in a very remote part of SW Florida. My family has been on this land since 1853, so we true crackers.

We grow from seeds my uncle brought back from Vietnam, but who knows what it has been mixed with over the years.

I've introduced genetic from Gypsy and BOG and soon Res and Reeferman. I also brought in some stuff from central america. I did this to introduce diversity, which aint always welcome in the cracker world, but we got to get 21st century.

This we grow is all cur-dog, we select for what goes well and gets us really stoned. There is enough growing around here that I don't know if anybody can contain the male pollen.

No body sells we just trade around here. We keep are heads down, we are used to being poor so nobody is out to cash in. So many got kilt or jailed for sugglin back in the 70's and 80's that we went back to the swamp.

I learned alot from OG but the dick swinging got old.

I am so happy FLA is represented here.

Hazyfontazy your mate is supposed to get a visa but I was in the same shit m8 i did a bit of bird in my late teeens so I should have got a visa but I just lied on the visa application you have to do on the plane before you get there if you declare anything at this point they'll just send you home the visa takes 14 weeks to process he does apply for one.....and if he's got a drug conviction then he can forget it they just wont let him in:(

I am trying GPS for the first time this year. I got divorced and the inside is out. The outside is in! The only way I feel comfortable is along ride (on the ATV) to the middle of no where. With no more then 5 per sight I really need a GPS. You look like things are coming along. We just hit 12/12 light so it's time to kick it into gear.

Woke up this morning to the neighbors Mini Horses were on my front porch eating my dogs food was like wow I came out side from smoking a wake-n-Bake step out and what do I see about 10 littleass horses on my porch I thought Damn that was some good shit! I went in and said Honey do me a favor and see if we are growing little horses on our front porch she laughed then went to look then I knew something was up someone done slipped some shit in our Weed! Both of us Halluctions of wild little horses....lol ok so the nieghbors fench broke and they ended up on my porch I didnt even know they owned littlbitty horses! Just got in from hiking and man some of my babies are already 10-17" Tall already and they all have preflowered except a few stubborn ones so they get a patch of their own! Looks like this is starting off like a great year of growing :)

Thats always good news! as far as outdoors goes these days, dont do much of it. I usually cut an extra 15 or 20 clones and just pop em in the ground around the train tracks a few blocks from the house. Right on the bay and the only folks that go through there are the homeless and most of my snooty assed neighbors wouldnt dare go down there! I wont really maintain them at all but will go look at them every week or so. I got a nice little indoor garden going now and am only doing the outdoors for shits and giggles.

I did my thing 5 - 8"ers in the ground Since my divorce it's tough to get things started. NO CLONES damn! Well with the law of averages I should bring 5 Full Term Females to flower.
So for the next 6 - 10 weeks I'll be maken' the rounds dropping (GPS) breadcrumbs. Florida has some great vast Forest. Fires, drought, floods, animals and people make for a tough site plan.

45 more holes to fill.

I had 4 harvest this year would have been 5 but lost round do to an outta town trip Right now get them in the ground! for multi harvest you will need a mom and clones under 24/7 light using this the only times you will not be able to harvest outside is the months of june and july the humidity is too much here in Fl.

Yeah the stinky fruit blue widow cross( I'm assuming thats what it is, I got 2 different kinds of seeds in the batch so I am going by the phenotype, i have a few that lean towards sativa) Are just abundantly budding and they are sick covered in crystals, it is day 32 of flowering, the stinky fruit afghani had some nute problems, so it has smaller more compact buds but they are stinky as high hell, I have yet to flower the cunnilindica, it is in a small scrog system right now, I will try to get some pics on here but it sounds like there is a problem with the picture server

Ok here we go, may be a few double pictures, I dont know I just find what looks good and point and shoot, most of you probably know I have a 50 dollar 2 year old walmart webcam so my pics arent always of the highest caliber, I personally think these babies looks awesome, A lot of the fan leaves are turning yellow as I just got rid of the nitrogen (I am using a bloom fert of 0-50-30 right now!!!) And that seems to be putting on a tremendous amount of weight early on, so here we go, Ok yep it wont let me upload the photos, so I will edit this post later

so far ive grown, blue mystic, mixed sativa(outdoors) but its indoors, and PPP ...so far the PPP is the best out of the 3 hands down...and the blue mystic wasnt all that bad....loooked better flowering than it did dried and cured.....check out my overgrow gallery for a smoke and grow report on the blue mystic

I just discovered this thread.

central florida checking in.

Just got some bag seed plants, and various seedling, battling the rain, sun , and humidity.
I fancy myself a novice breeder, I'm mainly at og.

I'm a huge Sativa lover. The more pure the better.

I'm working on a medical strain now called "Miami Medico."
a very heavy indica, that's 97% body 3 % head. Great for those that suffer from chronic body pain.

Would love to test grow any and all pure and near pure sativas.

I am really excited about how easy they are supposed to clone easily and of course the taste / Potiecy thing :) talked with GrapePunch he seems to be cool like his Dad! Welcome to Florida something you will love to find out is that the best time to grow pot here is the winter right now is my smallest yields damn heat! MultiHarvest state florida is I am gearing up now for the big time harvest plant outside in Octber they love the low heat low humidity and FL sunshine Prep your outdoor spaces now I like to use 5 gal buckets fix the soil now and plant the buckets in the ground for several reasons 1 Hide them from would be Thieves 2nd the soil will keep the roots cool which the plants love.
3rd I use blood & bone meal in my soil mixes which draws preditors to the buckets by placing them out now they find out its nothing and move on by the time my plants get in the buckets they are safe from bigger preditors that dig in the ground anyway
4th If you need to move your plants for any reason you can easier and less stressful on the plant.
there is a few tips I use but many just plant in the ground but my local soil sucks so it is easier plus better soil with all the above reasons.

I think pretty much most of Florida soil isn't the best. I'm not going to say were i grew up, but it was central florida. The soil was very poor and i also planted in 5 gal bucket. This was a long time ago when i was in high school. For the same reason that Aquaman2112 has stated is right. I liked to mix my own soil, the bucket were very easy to move if anything happen and site had to be moved. The roots didn't get to hot and you had good drainage. I know alot of people that still grow in gainvilles and they prep all their soil and have some of the best crops i've seen. They use the 5 gal bucket method and turn out some super crops. You goto UF and you'll see and smoke some of their weed. Florida soil has alot of acid in it, i guess it's from all the pine tree or something. I tried to grow in the soil without anything added to the soil and it didn't work to well.

So, I thought I'd share my lil' growing experiment with y'all. It's nothing too special, but I think it will be neat to see the results. Educational if nothing else! heheh :p So, I have two plants that I refer to as the "twins." They are almost identical. The problem is, my silly stoner azzzzzzz neglected to seperate them before it was too late... their roots were entangled! I faced a few opitions included attempting to seperate them with as lil' stress to the plant as possible and adding some rooting hormone to the first watering or so... OR... I could let them grow up sahring the same pot, transplanting them into one big pot eventually, and seeing what happens with their growth! :)

So, keep your fingers crossed and enjoy the ride! ;) heheheh

I'd just transplant them into a hugh pot and let them go. There's no need to shock them and mess them up. If you got the room, just transplant them to a hugh pot and do the normal care and they should be fine, but you got to make sure the roots have plenty of room. I've grown out the following

The BS#2 isn't ready for cloning yet. I just got them sexed and i'm flowering the first run on them. I'm going to see how these do first then i'll take as many as i can for a full run. I only have about 3-4 clones budding now and want to see how well they do. If all going well, i'll make my pick on the keeper and go from there. I just built a cloning machine and will be able to have good strong rooted clones in 5-7 for sure. Wait awhile for the real first run of the BS and you might get lucky.

well it depends on your training style...i mean ive seen some nice grows on 250..but i mean a 400w would be bettr of course.....im just going to use it for veg

Jazzy, from experience, I would say go higher, as much as 600 or even a 1000 watter, 400s are great, you'll get a lot of good bud, just remember for every extra watt you have in there you will have that much more yeild and density, you could easily get a 1000 watt light for 200-250 with a good ventilated hood and a 500 cfm inline duct fan for under 30 dollars online from the home depot site, check these guys out http://www.suncourt.com/inductor.html

anyway as far As the lamp, you could get one off of ebay, just have it sent to a buddies house or something, i NEVER trusted ebay with any of my info but they do have great deals

I'm going to stick with 400 watts until I love in another location. I share a wall with my baby cousin... my bedroom wall lines up to hers--- and my bedroom closet is where the HPS is going. While I realize that it's all in the set-up and how well you do it, I just don't want the heat that you guys always talk about with these huge lamps! (Edit: Fire hazard.) Frankly, y'all are lucky I've been convinced to do HPS at all! My weed habit is NOTHING compared to the safety of my baby cousin--- she owns my heart. :D

Have you had any samples yet of rojo or haze? Do you keep moms for them? Where did you get them? Which version of Haze do you have? Is that Nirvana's version of Neville's Haze?

I'm looking for a pure or nearly pure sativa right now. I know some sativa lovers up north who have commercial indica indoor grows going. They're willing to trade two or three ounces of a great indica like Sensi Star for each ounce of a great sativa like a true Haze or Thai. I have a pack of Thai-tanic from the Flying Dutchmen that I plan to start next. My other packs of sativa seeds are JLP's C-99xHaze, Ducksfoot, Tropicana, Blue Satellite #2, and Skunk #1.
EDIT: I forgot I also have a pack of Cali-O and some fruity sativa seeds from Jack Green.

Hey, Aquaman, I don't think our June and July humidity is too much to get good harvests. You just have to choose a good sativa. I had a plant outside that finished in June last year without any problems. If anybody else has had a different experience growing outdoors in Florida, I would love to hear about it.

had AK-47 Sseeds as a mom did some AK-48 nirvana I found to be almost as good! had a bag seed mom named mrs. G had a real medical taste was very nice yeild. yes this fall I put out to flower from sept -dec feb & March love these months :) a group a month but it is nice if your clones have some size. my NL x Shiva took till jan to finsh was like damn! you have a nice line up guys I plan on joining you hoping for a couple of really good Bog lines for moms and then gonna look at THseeds I also want a good haze hopefully that will satisfy me for a while! ya know the internet seed banks beat the shit outta the old way. Endless hunts for killer through bag seed :) damn the time this would have saved me just a few years back,,,, still amazed and happy got a camera comming soon so hopefully I can show some of Aquamans buds/plants with a clear picture I will be so happy.

light is turned on and cooling system is in effect...temps are around 80 and its the night time with no fans(seems a little hot for now but i havent really even gotten started on that). crunks dropped off some free skunk#1's hes not using and they are germinating next to thebubliscious in a cup of water under the light, along with 2 crunks crossbreds already planted in ocean forst soil. heres some sweet pic's of my cooling system....

Anyhow, I thought I'd share the story of STORMS + ROOT ROT = DEATH OF PLANT. :p

Heheheh... yeah... long story short, one of my "tins" passed on over the course of all the rain this week. I wanted to bring the plant inside, but it has a lot of bug-damage (something munching on it). So, I checked the root base of the surviving plant, and all seems well! :) So, I'm going to keep her going strong! The sun is drying her soil up as I type!

Just a quick hello to all the florida growers. Love this thread. Using the big halide in the sky right now, but cant wait to move indoors here soon. Just wanted to let Jazzy know that she doesnt need the 400. You can do plenty good with a 250. 5 plants under the 250 finishing at or under 3ft can give you depending on strain 6-8 O's. Of course the 400 is better, but if you plan on using it in a bedroom, the heat that sucker will put off can make a bedroom pretty uncomfortable. I have a 175 metal halide on my reef tank and I trying to get rid of it because that sucker adds a couple of degrees to my room. Just trying to help out a little, but ultimately you will do what you feel is right and I have no probs with that. Take care guys and gals, and man some of you have some awesome genetics, yet here I am just starting to grow cause I cant find shit in SW Fla.

I see people keep asking about when to start outdoors in Florida. There are more questions asked on this topic than any other in this thread. I think it's time for us to write a detailed FAQ on it and paste it into one of the first posts in the thread.

I’ll get this started and then you guys can review my draft and make comments to improve it. First, we need to see what’s already in the OG on this. As far as I can tell, the only FAQ related to this topic is one that lists the average first and last frost days for a few selected cities. It shows Tampa usually gets their first and last frost in January, and Miami is frost free. 1445

The most important points to keep in mind are:

Genetics determine how much darkness a plant will need to flower. The number of hours of uninterrupted darkness each night that will induce blooming is called that plant’s “critical night length.” This is usually around ten to eleven hours. So, indoor growers keep the limit the dark period to six hours to keep plants in veg, and switch to twelve hours to induce flowering. That probably covers 99% of the plants.
The longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere is in late June, and the shortest day is around Christmas.
The closer you are to the equator the less fluctuation there is in day length. It’s 12/12 every day of the year on the equator.
Plants wont start to flower until they are sexually mature. This can take a couple months and the exact amount of time is affected by the plant’s genes. Clones will have the maturity of the mother. So, young seedlings will stay in veg even when given long nights, but mature clones will start to flower when they are given long enough nights. I think there’s an FAQ on how to tell when a plant is sexually mature.
I’ve seen several plants flower right through the longest day of the year (shortest night).
The shorter veg season we have here is actually an advantage in many ways. The plants stay shorter, so they’re more stealthy. The lower yield can be compensated by planting more plants and having more flowering seasons. The longer you leave your plants outside, the more you expose them to loss due to pests, pestilence, poachers, or police.
Frost isn't good for Cannabis plants, so, if you live someplace that gets cold in the winter, you should put up some kind of temporary greenhouse on the cold days. I've seen some clear pup tents that are made for this purpose and I posted a link to them in the previous Florida growers thread. Or, you can rig something yourself with a clear plastic tarp, like Visqueen.


I keep moms, clone, and veg indoors and then treat the great outdoors here as a huge flowering room. That way, you keep most of the odor and heat away from your home and you take advantage of the powerful free grow lamp in the sky. Find a couple stoner friends who have sunny backyards and put one small bush or bed of tiny clones out there each month. That will give you and your friends plenty stash to keep everybody happy.

hyper girl i agree, your gonna have to come voer n see it in person :P ...hes doing everything i was..but one major difference..he has his temps down to the perfect setting...never gets higher than 80º in his room...so his grow will show me and us if warmer temps contribute to less developed looking/smelling buds.....little by little me and dutch have been fixing our problems and debunking myths...pretty soon well be closer to growing top shelf stuff....**_*_*_*_*_*greetz*_* _*_*

happy friday comin up yall!!! my light, blower n things and hopefully the rest of my alien groshop order is coming tomorrow(ice-o-hash yay!~) im eager to get to work i got everything ready but the baggs!...once i get my light ill be setting it up in the newer more refined vedge station....and ill be setting up the coming 265cmf dayton and cutting a simular hole like dutch did in the attic a/c vent and making some serious ventilation/exhuast/air flow....if that dont work next time im investing in co2~~~!!!!!!!!!!

just catching up. Been gone for a few weeks. Tried to re-veg the stinkyfruit afghani, but the mites got to it in my absence, my bluewidow x ghani seems to be just fine, just took a legion of clones and now I'm gonna put this momma back into flowering, starting...................... ............. now. So Aug 4 official first day of flowering, gotta remember that. Anyway ya'll seem to be doing just fine,

And I want to thank the unknown florida grower who has been supplying us with these great haze crosses for the past couple years.He or she must have a nice commercial op going cuz there is always alot around,thanks again. Dude, your very lucky to have Haze crosses available to you. Lot's of times I can't find anything at all here. I always run dry before my harvests. I'm going to have to start stockpiling buds when I can find some.

yea cant complain..but im going to be cutting back very very soon as i need to start school and get a new job...i smell the cold wind of chagne
