USA..where's the hash?!?!?

I LOVE HASH!!! Unfortunately, I can NEVER find any. Waaaay back about 10-12 years ago(old stoner) I could get a fair bit of black/brown hash that was mid grade and up. Since then, I have not been seeing it...AT ALL. Recently I had about a half a gram that a friend gifted me, and of course that only made me want more :)
I hear lots of folks in Europe and Canada finding a good bit of hash, but not so much here in the US.
So, what's the deal?? Where there is cannabis, there should also be hash, no??!?!?
So what are some of your opinions out there as to why we in the US don't seem to have as much hash as some other places(oh, and I posted this question here as opposed to OG to avoid the kiddies answering with dumbass comments like "America is gay"
but all other opinions are welcome.

In the long run, I intend to combat this lack of tasty resins by making my own hash once this Afghani finishes.

The volume of polluted brown stuff maskerading as hash is of such a volume now that the decent import is rarely available and the grower is keeping his finger hash in his close circle of appreciative tokers. Unless demand for the low grade hash is kerbed i fear the higher quality hashes will remain the domain of your hardcore stoner.

There is also the problem that the higher quality hashes have an intrinsic high value compared to the lower grade hashes which means that people will always take quantity over quality.

Think of finger hash as the 40 years established corner shop guy and normal low grade street hash as the Walmart.

USed to be able to get commercial grade black 10 years ago for 10 bucks a gram on the street...

You would think there would be one or two massive comercial hash operations in the US or Canada for export to the US.

It is even wierder that you can buy giant 5 gallon bubblebags and shit all over the web...You'd think someone would get the idea to grow it up just for this purpose...:rolleyes:

A lot of the hash in the US, was smuggled by military personal from Europe and Asia. Once the military became serious about drug testing, that avenue dried up. One guy I knew purchased 2000 Thai sticks for $500 usd. I've known a few Viet Nam era Air Force technicians who would open up an access panel on a jet and it was crammed full of goodies.

During that time in Europe, pot was rare and hash was common.

Its probably more profitable to smuggle drugs other than reefer and hash to the US.

hash is pretty easy to get in the sfbayarea. right now i'm smoking on some scissorhash, 120 bubble, 60%bho jelly, and some trainwreck pressed trichs. prices range from fifteen to ninety dollars a gram for different concentraits, but i never pay more than forty or fifty.

in the general market i think that the growers keep it to themselves and whoever they eat dinner with, and because of this it's taken a long time for the hashmaking methods to circulate.

it looks like people are starting to catch on now, and even people that have to buy pot can make hash from that if they are really interested.

Other than what I make there isnt' much hash floating around the Los Angeles area. In the past 4 years I've come across one person selling some hash. I got a gram of gold seal black hash for 20 bucks, it bubbled on the top surface but thats it.

I always turn at least one plant a harvest into some good dry sift, bubble, and finger hash. I never sell any though. Instead I just smoke out everyone who likes weed that I come across. I love to smoke it with people that have never experienced it before. It is way better then they expect usually.

last month was cold pressed.
just gotta know where to look.
i can pretty much get it whenever i want.

all the medi clubs in socal have em, bubble, dry sift, bho, iso, amber glass, and a few are claiming to have "c02" extracted but i think its just really good bho.

prices range from 15 a gram to 60 a gram depending on what ur getting and where ur getting it from

I always have it because i make my own. I have noticed a steep incline of hash hitting the west coast the the past few years though. on a lighter note I think Amerikans have forgotten the value of it. Think about it, if you go up to the "average" stoner and ask him if he wants to buy an oz of kush or does he want a few grams of hash......what do you think he would say? They miss the forest for the trees

Just get yourself a set of bubblebags and you can have all the hash you want. Though I do miss various hash's like Nepalese temple ball and Parvati cream, bubblehash is a much cleaner hash I have noticed. Well off for a bowl of the pure 72u.

I always like to make hash when ever I get a bunch of good weed.
I prefer to smoke hash because it amounts to smoking less.

I have a perpetual grow. I save all the naturally falling leaves until I get a big bag full of dry leaves. Then I tumble them to get hash in my O'kief tumbler. I then press it using a clay extruder. My boyhood friend and I stayed stoned for an entire weekend just on the "skuff". He was amazed that I made it in front of him. Took two days (stoners) but we got it done! :woohoo:

Yeah,when ever I offer some of my home-made ISO hash I get a look of confusion and fear as if I offered some exotic opium or heroin. Its so just so rare that I would be confident in saying that the majority of casual smokers have not any hash of decent quality. The only people with hash are growers or in a growers social circle.

I was trying to think of why we don't see any hash in the states. Could it be that more cannabis production has shifted to domestically operations within our own borders....hash is more easily smuggled? I really don't know...maybe our marijuana culture just has not had enough exposure to appreciate it.

No doubt true, as near as this Native American Euro half breed snob can tell, but there is also a snob following of hash in certain circles.

I personally have never been able to wean myself from bud, despite a plethora of other ingestion methods. The smoke lung contact, as well as the plant pureens and nuances of bud are a chapter within themselves, regardless of how tasty the hash extracted from them may be.

Hash is not as readily available locally as bud, and is often misrepresented. Sometimes locally it is just compressed ground bud. It is also pretty expensive on the BM, relative to bud.

The local medical hash aficionados however, will seldom smoke anything else, as they mostly make it themselves, as I do mine.

I make compress cannabuttons from ground bud also, either saturated with hash oil or plain, but mostly use ice water for hash extraction for my own use, as well as the meds that I extract oil from to supply a cancer research project.

Someone noted that the growers are probably using most of the hash, but locally I found that education was needed with many of the growers to understand the yield that they could extract from their trim and scrap. A lot of it is composted because of the smoking harshness of the vegetable matter and the lack of appreciation of its potential.

I believe this education is a passing thing and with in the next few years, hash from scrap will be more appreciated locally, even if bud hash continues to be scarce.

I am a little bit of a weed and hash snob I must admit. cheap commercial practices bother me. I did not become this way until I was educated about hash, and how much you could get from trimm.

I keep a seperate jar for hash made from bud, and hash made from trimm. I notice the high from the bud hash lasts much longer.
