Anyone else a green tea fan. I drink the shit all the time. It really amps me up and with weed I like it even better. Any other green tea drinkers here? Stuff is really good for flushing out your system.

Green tea has caffene in it. It has about half the amount of a cup of coffee, but thats only if you drink the heady green tea. Which usually costs about $25 for 100 grams. The cheap store bought shit sucks, it tastes good but does not have the same high that good quality green tea has. Try it out.
It also has several vitamins in it as well as amino acids, so its very healthy. One cup has more vitamin c than a green pepper.

Ever heard of Yerba Mate? thats lovely stuff, full of vits and mins, and nice with a spliff. Also it has half the caffiene of normal tea, but its an aquired taste which I like.

wtf are you smoking or drinking pal?
green tea wont have more than 30mg or so of caffeine per cup if that
thats very minimal
and the mild caffeine content is usually offset but the loads of l-theanine thats in it
and green peppers dont have a lot of vitamin c anyways, so wtf is that comparison all about?
want vitmain c eat some dandelions....

Lol, dandelions! wtf are you smoking? And good quality green tea from the first harvest in spring which can be hard to find. You really must find it online unless you are an asain. But regular green tea has about 30 mgs of caffene, but asain green tea I have read has about 70 mgs, which is half a cup of coffee, so to a person who doesnt drink any caffene, it gives me a boost, as well as many other people, try googling it.

dandelions have shitloads of vit c
a few leaves and you have all the vit c you need for the day
harvest leaves before the plant flowers otherwise they will be unpleasantly bitter
and i havent smoked shit yet....time to though :rasta:
but if you are looking for a buzz i have to recommend the yerba mate....that stuff is awesome....
i love green tea though, dont get me wrong, usually have a pot a day, but i jut dont get much from it
i usually drink gunpowder green though

green tea also activates the enzyme in the liver that gets rid of the cannabiods so it really does help flush your system :)

yerba mate, ilex paraguariensis, is an evergreen tree/shrub (holly) that is native to south america
it is very similar to the 'black drink' (yaupon) of north american natives (specifically the southern ones) its made from ilex vomitoria, another holly which also has a fair amoutn of caffeine
the unique thing about yerba mate though is the theobromine and related xanthines content
yerba can be anywhere from 1-3% caffeine but the theobromine is usualyl .5-1% which compared to coffee, or tea, is quite high
it also may have other components, including some maoi activity
it makes me quite euphoric at times...
The yerba mate also supresses appetite while it provides stimulation. Try celestial seasonings morning thunder if you want a nice buzz, it is black tea with yerba mate, good stuff.

I love some green tea after toking...it seems to just make my stone so much more mellow and it tastes so good... ah i could go on!
Recently I got some loose leaf organic green tea and mint that's delicious.
What are some really good green teas that you guys reccomend? and where can I get them? I'm in the boston area for a week, any cool tea shops around there?
Also...yerba mate...I've heard so much about it but haven't gotten to try it yet! I've searched high and low for the stuff and no go....You say theres a celestial seasonings yerba? I'll check it out maybe.
what are some good yerba mate tea brands and where can I get em??? Thanks a bunch!

i get cruz de malta brand
plenty of stems and pretty damn cheap (5$ for a kilo, if you are paying more than 10$ for a kilo its a ripoff IMO, look elsewhere or get some other brands, nativa for instance is ridiculously priced)
i think without the stems the stuff is bland (nativa, for instance)
but i've seen people grab my mate to drink, take a sip form the bombilla and spit it out with a wretched look on their face....it grows on you though...and may possibly permanently change the way you taste things...

the guayaki yerba mate is the brand i drink. very hard to find but I find it in alot of health food stores because its organic. a few grocery stores have it but its not in the tea aisle but in the organic aisle. I have been drinking it forever and it makes me so mellow. coffee gives me the jitters and paranoia so bad but I always liked the wide awake feeling after coffee. The yerba mate gives me the same boost and doesn't come with a big crash when it wears off. I think so clearly after a cup, puts me in a good mood, and I think it cured some anxiety that I had. It does taste strange at first but after you see what it does for you the taste grows on ya. since I tried it a few years ago I never had another cup of coffee again ever. Great stuff.

yeah ive been ordering from the website lately. its been sold out around here for the past 6 months and I always ask when it will be back in stock and they say 3-4 days and its always sold out the day it comes in. try and get the loose leaf yerba mate that isnt already in the little tea pouches already. you only get 25 of them for around $6. the loose leaf I can get about 100 cups for the same price although I have to pack my own pouches but I like to make them alot thicker/stronger than the pre-made ones. Let us know how you like it! If you are a coffee drinker you will never go back to coffee.

get a bombilla
maybe a gourd too
do it right
cant drink your yerba without a bombilla
i usually use a 1L glass jar though, my gourd is too small (i use ~50g of leaf a day)

Wow, I guess I am not the only tea freak here. Good to know other people are passionate about tea like me.

i used to be so into tea. i pursued that high alot. but now i find that i can avoid the anxiety of too much caffeine and still get the benefits of tea by just drinking a little bit every few hours.
reason it helps me is related to how caffeine works. this is just my own experience/observation. seems caffeine works by prodding the digestive system to keep moving.
in our stressed out world we constantly feel threats of stress which shuts down our digestive system. this is bad because when that happens food gets stuck and ferments and makes us feel shitty, literally.
so tea signals the digestive tract to keep moving. same with cigarettes.
david wolfe says the main problem in the world today is too much constipation and not enough sex.
Seems that the status of our digestive tract at any given moment is how we "feel" at any given moment...
feel shitty? you probably are. food is most likely for whatever reason stuck in your tract. maybe some of it is clinging to the sides of your tract. some of it is dry and just not moving.
tea helps keep the tract moist and moving... my guess is its caffeine's action on the intestinal movements but also the oils that help keep it moving. But for some people they are sensitive to it. that just means they need less. too much caffeine seems to make the digestive tract quiver and move -too fast-, which the body/mind displays as anxiety. so you feel that caffeine anxiety...
i used to be so into caffeine, then totally against it. seems now i found a way to just benefit from it instead of getting stressed from it.

anyone else prefer pine tea?
I used to spend money on tea until I read that pine needles have pound for pound more vit c then lemons with a host of other good stuff. tastes good and you don't need to sweeten it

problem with pine tea is there is no caffeine...which is what most people are after really. we like the feeling caffeine gives us.

drink a lot of green tea, especially with asian food, it just seems to go right with it. i like green "sencha" (sp?), the high quality japanese green, also "bancha" (sp?) the cheaper type, has kernels of toasted puffed rice in it, gives it a nutty flavour, nice change.
