Well here are some shots of the box's new digs. I went ebb and flow this time and also a first timer with Ready Grow Soil Mix. Currently 26 Days from seed. Have 4 Northern Lights x BB and 15 Skunk Special all from female seeds on seeds direct. Thus far is easy to see the NlxBB are kicking ass and can only hope all the others catch up. Running Using Pure blend Pro,Lq,and Cal Mag. Had them under a 125 watt floro from worms way for 2 weeks and recently moved under a 400 Hortilux Blue and will use the Hortilux Super hps en for flower. I'm currently at 500 ppm with ph at 6.0 water is heated to a steady 69 degrees with 4 12 air stone running from a four outlet big ass air pump in a 20 gallon res. I felt I over watered in the beginning but after talking to Mr. Meogi (TK) I now feel they might need a little more mag atleast the nlxbb due (wish I had a box Of those Instead) anyway I can tell a diffrence in using the ready in the node spacings, maybe it's the new bulb but they seem to be a lot tighter this time around therefore I'm gonna veg the shit out of these little bitches and clone me some tops so I won't haft to wait so damn long this round to get going. I encountered a bad spider mite problem last time around and all mommies were lost a summers worth of work gone due to lack of experience. But oh well live and learn. Here's The New Digs:

Ventilation and temp are your enemy so keep an eye on it.

Good growin man and the gentics you have should be quite tasty

Healthy lookin plants and don't loose any sleep over the little bottom leaves at the very bottom yellowing a little. Nice node spacing on the pic.

Tk thats the thing With this sealed box I can control the temps. I have inside the larger box a digital heater. I keep that baby at 63 degrees (it's freakin 16 degrees outside now) and my little grow box stays at 76-78 degrees it's a beautiful thing man and with the humidifier shooting right into the air intake I can control the humidity as well. I can take either one, temp or humidity and put it where I want and inside each box is a wireless temp and humidity meters I keep by the bed it even has an alarm to wake me up if anything goes out of wack(technology is our friend). And the dual fan above the door is digital to. I can have one blow in and one out or vice versa and set the thermostat on that as well. In your earlier posts I've read a hundred times you said as long as you can control these two things the rest should come much easier.Time Will Tell. Is ph at 6.0 ok and also my res temp is at 69 is this correct because as I said I can control Res temp heat and humidity. Also I included some pics of the aerocloner upgrade those are 9 360 spinners instead of 1 (stock form) Now If I could only clone one of your thumbs I'd be set.

To everyone a big thanks. I still have not returned to the office yet. It's been 4 months now reading and reading and reading for the day I turned it loose. But would'nt you know I now feel a need for some of those damn buckets. Those things look so cool and I've seen the trees they produce first hand. I figured I get this one going and maybe build a new garage in the spring. Could not be as far as I gotten without you guys. I've been planting my own for about 15 years now. But I must say walking out by the river and throwing down some seeds and coming back a few months later to see what happened does not make you a grower. Seeing what you guys can do made me realize that. It's just like when I sold Crotch Rockets (motorcycles) in Florida, $10,000 does not buy talent I used to tell them. It only buys the tools. Hope I can give something back this time.

Well we have gotten a foot and a half of snow. I'm snowed in to say the least it's a nice -5 outside but atleast I got a 77 degree tropic zone to go to and see. I'll get some new pics up later.

Well been away for a few days to try to go where their is no freakin snow. Thats right Vegas Baby. Spent New Years at the top of the new Hilton on the strip and staggered (a big winner by the way) home to find the girls are trying their little hearts to become something. Man I must say the hortilux blue bulbs rock. the spacings are tighter and make these little bitches squat down and spread. I'm gonna top some about the middle of next week to use the new cloner and just wanted to post a quick update, and hope everybody had a good 1st.

Lookin great man,

Ready Gro, no fuss, no muss. I did cut my water cycles back to three, two during lights on and one in the middle of lights off. I am thinking of going to just one long cycle at the beginning of the lights on cycle

Keep up the great work

Well I was gonna say something to you about that. The early yellowing was infact overwatering. At the point I'm at now I flood once a day at lights on. I've got a rapidtest meter but have gone to the pot lifting method to see when they were light. a few weeks ago I was watering once every 2 days with no ill effects and no more yellowing. But as I told you in our pm's I did move from the cups to the pots way way to early for some and paid the price of some slow ass veg time compared to the ones I firmly rooted before the move to the pots. Live to Learn and Learn to Live I always say. Just don't make the same mistake twice!

I'm going to be topping a few of the girls tomorrow and putting in an aerocloner. This will be my first time using this machine and was wondering if the group would have any tips. The girls are nlXbb and skunk specials from female seeds on seeds direct. The bb have grown to about twice the size of the skunk and was hopeing to maybe try to top and even them out but read cloning bb was a bitch. Any suggestions are appreciated in advance.

Well so far so good. The I have found the nlxbb to be very easy to grow gonna wait a little longer before I flip if they get a little to tall I do what Tex says and treatem like little bitches and get out the rope :whip:

Took 10 clones off the bb and see if I could get beginners luck tap water ph at 6.0 got a 2 foot air hose running off a dual air pump twisted around the pump water temps at 85 and using Green Fuse per Tex'es Advice. 2 1/2 days no roots yet but still holding green.

Great job Waggs, You'll start to see little white bumps on the stems in a few days. Once you see those little noduls it's only 24 hours away from shootin roots out and they go quick after that.

You may want to cut you misters cycles to on for an hour or so and then off for a couple of hours. It seems to make the roots stretch out faster and more vigorous.

Take a rope to the unruley biatches

Tex How often do you change your cloner solution? I've eveything from every day (I don't think so) to every week. Just curious. Don't know if you have seen this yet but: Biotanicare has a new Ready Grow Mix:

There are two unique formulas to choose from: READYGRO AERATION FORMULA™ AND READYGRO MOISTURE FORMULA™. The AERATION FORMULA is specifically designed for 4-6 waterings daily and the MOISTURE FORMULA™ is designed for 1 watering daily. Both are ideal for container gardens, self-watering pots and planters, and hydrogardens. They are perfect for growing fruits, vegetables, houseplants, orchids, cacti and succulents. I know you have the link but for those that don't:

I don't change my cloner solution at all. I have roots in 10-12 days and then I go to the cups or strait into a 5.25" pot to go on the flood table. Maybe I will next time and see if it makes a difference.

I use the Ready Gro now almost exclusively, it rocks and you just toss it at the end. I do put a layer of hydrotron or lava rocks in the bottom and the the Ready Gro. I can transplant 20-25 plants in like 25 minutes and I have been able to cut the water cycles in haf compared to strait hydrotron.

I'm trying out a new ready grow plug system called Float and Grow:

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Float_And_Grow-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Float_And_Grow.jpg)

Instead of putting in the existing tray I got a rubbermaid tub and lined the outside with duck tape to block out the light I haven't found anything in threads regarding this thing so I'll be the guinea pig on this one. I also put in 2 12 inch airstones beneath the floatey and a heater to keep it at 75 degrees at 6.4 ph
http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102The_Tub-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102The_Tub.jpg)

The one thing I see so far that I like is oxygen a lot of it:
http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Love_The_Air-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Love_The_Air.jpg)

I know this will help but as before time will tell will be running 15 NlXBB 5 White Rino's (thanks for the tip HOG) and 5 cinderella 99's. I also have 6 nice NLXbb clones in waiting if any thing goes south:

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Learning_To_Fish-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Learning_To_Fish.jpg)

Once these girls started to get new growth they turned out to be beautiful and will keep some of these for Mommies. Tex thanks again for teaching me to clone. They look so much better and heartier than they did from seed. Oh and here is a shot of the Special Skunk at 24 Days I'm getting better with my camera and hope everybody likes what they see.

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Special_Skunk-thumb.JPG (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Special_Skunk.JPG)

Using it for seeds HOG got an aerocloner for clones copied Tex right down to the Green Fuse. Those babies you see popping had been in there for 12 hours. I go from the soak (till I see tails) to the rapid rooters. I read in Heads that Soma Does the same thing except he uses the little Peet Pots. I like rapid rooters better and so far so good well see.

It is the Quick Grow's Black Box. Summer temp are this products undoing hence the modifications. Without the mods temps in the box easily reach 100+ degrees but have them under control now. 8 weeks my ass TK these trics are clear as hell and patience is my friend I will say tho I took the cover off 2 days ago and could tell my girls were in pain (my gut) had to dig up the ph meter and dust it off and found my ph level to be at 4.9 oh damn I said did a rez change and well as they say a picture is worth a thousand words no harm no foul. Scissors you say well yes I did take a little taste of of the lower level and damn TEX it was nice but as you have taught me go by the trics NOT BY THE TIME. I bet these girl's got atleast 3 more weeks in them. But I must ask If I'm able to get at least a pound (on my own) out of a 400 watt bulb do I still have to call myself a newbie?

Since we don't have a formal cap and gown ceremony.lol

"I pass to the a cob pipe to signify your advancment to the next level"

Green thumb up and comer in the wings

Watch'm fattin up now though. Pretty much as a rule of thumb I add two weeks to the printed flower times. Maybe 8 weeks from the time they showd sex. That's from seed plants also, clones can shave a week or so off the time.

Clones would do real nice in your setup

that's cool MW , i went to check my PM's and stopped in the photo's gallery area and saw your pic's that i was just looking at here, and thought i should ask you .

Glad it's you , people do swipe pic's over there , i even found some of my grow report for mazar on a website slinging seeds in the U.K. so i thought i'd check with you about the pic's just to play it safe .

Have a good one

oh yeah , nice nugs , how tall is the inside of "the black box" ?

The inside is 3 foot vegged to long this time so had to tie'em down a little. Gonna do some buckets this spring and will use this box for veg then move to buckets if all goes well. Thanks for the reply's. Got 17 girls in there now it's full.

WOW mrwags , i would never have thought that a black box could hold that many plants , what do you think the yield is gonna be ? should be close to a lb, no ?

O H

mrwags
03-03-2005, 09:16 AM
Last time was between 1-2 ounces per plant. The co2 really really works in such a small area. As you well know the Black Box in stock form is only a 10 site drip setup. I came here last June and saw Texas Kids ebb and flow grows and saw the light I guess you could say.It has taken me close to a year and many many trial and errors to get this far. If Gus could see what I have done to his product he would more than likely shit his pants. He said that over seas guys are getting 3 pounds per run with this thing but those systems are running on 220 and use twin 400's . If I could get at least an 1 1/2 oz per I would be happy. But time will tell.

Just WOW!

Everything is looking top notch Mr. Wags... a pound from a 400??? HOLY SHIT! I'm pulling for you.

That CO2 kicks things into overdrive, huh? How do you provide the CO2? I think CO2 is in my future... BUT... I don't want to go the tank route and the CO2 generators are just a bit outside my current grow budget... -dreamz-

Your next round is looking good... can you go into some detail on your moms? Feed, etc.... is this ebb & flow as well? details Details DETAILS... They are looking fabulous.!

Patience,Patience,Patience Here we are at day 58 of 12/12 and we are still growing. So I thought I'd get some updates posted and see what the group thought. All trics are still attatched and clear a scope is valuable at this point and will more than likely run the last batch of nutes (been in for 7 days) till Wednesday to a Flora Kleen flush and then use straight ph adjusted r/o water till I get some ambers and then 24 dark, cut, trim, and throw in my climate controlled dryer.

I did a one hour flush of Floro Kleen and then went to straight ph'd water. I'm not there yet TK but I'm learning. When it gets warm enough to work out in the garage I'm planning another veg room and will convert the existing room into BUCKET NIRVANA! Oh yes the growing bug has bitten me BAD! It is a 8x5 room so I feel 12 buckets under 2 600 air-cooled hoods should do nicely. But when that times comes as always I will have questions on the construction and pm's will be flying your way. I went 20 for 20 on the last clone run so I guess you taught me well. So now I can yank them big girls out cut'em up put them in the dryer clean BOB and go right back to flowering. Just like you showed me to. You the man TEX you the man. Only this time I got back up so this way I know BOB will stay completely full the next run.

Very very nice, now a suspect you are addicted to growing.hehe It happened for all of here at one time or another. Actually smoking and enjoying the fruits of your labor and love is one of the most rewarding things I can think of, whether it's by yourself or with friends.

Don't tell anybody you grew it, just say you have a connect or access to it. It's hard not to get excited and tell the world look at this wonderful thing I grew, but they will take you down with the quickness.

Excellent work man, I love it when a plan comes together.

I second what HOG said MR Wags , could you elaborate on that dryer please fella??
That Skunk special looks great...I have wanted to try that ever since I started looking through the seed catalogues before I started my grow this time last year, it looks like the "Skunk" we used to get when I was a kid, I used to score off of a little Dread in mosely Birmingham, ...he had this code for peole to score there...when u got to the building where his flat was, you pressed his buzzer, and had to do a special secret knock on the reciever of the buzzer, lol.... I used to think that was sooo cool then when I was 14, LOL
Anyway, nice going.....those black boxes look pretty cool..I could knock something similar up for a relative of mine who has given up the booze after battling for all his adult life, and wants to start growing as all that is avalible round here is shitty soap bar! (Except when I pass a spliff to sum1...lol) anyway, all the colours in that special....I dunno why, but(and your gonna think this is wierd) but the colours I see in it in ever pic I see of it done well, it pts me in mind of tutti-frutti ice cream, hahaha, Prolly just beacause of the quite light coloyur, with all the flecks in it....heheh. i told you it waswierd, hahaha.
Anyway Wags, bloody nice one my friend, it looks great!

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Day_One_002-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Day_One_002.jpg)

http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102done_025-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102done_025.jpg)

The box itself is very simple but once these are dry I'll take this puppy apart get some model numbers and some names off the unit do a google search and will post where and how to get and make one yourself. I spent 250.00 with the box as a set. I bet were gonna make it for around 100.00. it's simple to do we just gotta get the right parts.

Knocking a little aero thingy together to develop the roots a bit....not really a cloner as theyre rooted in those plugs and ill be cloning that way for now as its simple, but more of a pre-grower...if u get me. U seen that pic 420 showed of those roots in that plug before going in hiscoli??? well, I need something that will do that for me!
I cant do afull run with the Df this time round as I only have 15 clones, and it takes 21 to fill it SOG style, 3 rows of 7....so these will have some breathing room, 3 rows of 5 instead....when u do it with the 7 per row, the pots are all touching completely ram-jammed, lol. so ill prolly have to train a bit to fill the space???.
anyway, just dropping in
Be lucky every1

Looking nice Mr.wags

Good to know that the SS takes a little longer than it says on the tin. Im currently 5 1/2 weeks into 12/12 with the Skunk special and Just looking at them tells me they are going to need at least another 3 to 4 weeks. All the hairs are still white and the buds haven't started to fill out properly yet. Loads of crystals all over the place already though.

Have you had a smoke test yet? Any info on the high? Is it an upper or a couchlock skunk?

As for the guy asking about the smell, it smells real sweet and fruity at 5 1/2 weeks 12/12

The Northen Light x BB is less tasty than the Special Skunk but the damn buzz last forever but the skunks flavor is like sweet warm cream on a winter morning. But damn if I say that Gypsy's Freebie Golden Skush is an ass kicker. I got 1 1/2 oz off of 2 plants in a jar for safe keeping until at least September from what I've read it should be really good by then.

A lot of people were helped with this grow and they as well as myself want to thank everyone involved in it's teachings I've shared everything from this grow with those I know needed it and will continue to do so in the future I have even managed to get a few involved in our hobby (sharin the love man) :friends: for most of them need it a hell of a lot more than I do. I'm very reclusive with my hobby and mainly only share here as far as anybody around me knows I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy, so thanks for letting this corporate america old scholl hippie hang out and learn the craft.

13 grams short of an elbow, better turn that frown upside down my friend, That is stellar results for your first run on the tables.

Great work Waggs, that should be enough to get through to the next harvest.hehe.

You can move your tassle to the other side of your cap and smoke the traditional cob pipe in recognition of your accomplishment here today. The photo grow journal is your thesis so to say and you pass with flying colors.

Enjoy the fruits

Nice thread. Did a great job for your first run with E&F :) Going to be setting up my first E&F tables in the next week or so. Been doing a bunch of reading :)

Dont mean to hi-jack but does any one how many times I should be flooding when using General Hydroponics 4"x4"x4" Cocotek AB cubes? I do have some bud blanket I've been thinking about trying out this run. Maybe some on one tray and none on the other. See if theres a difference?

Also wondering how many of you use a gradient slope with E&F?

Wow now here is a blast from the past! Frosty welcome, the flood cycles will all very depending on YOUR room. Witht he ebb and flow idea it is much easier to do a large number of pots but I do sometimes miss being able to give them a little tlc. I flooded twice a day with these pots for 30 minutes and 3 times a day in flower for 30 as well. now i use Biotanicares Ready Grow Soil mix so that was a lot different than the hydro balls that I flooded 4 times a day for 30 minutes throught he entire cycle. Check the weight of your pots BEFORE ya water and get a feel for what the weight is once they are fully watered and remember that cycle so that when they dry out you know how close you are to getting a happy cycle for YOUR setup.

Thanks for the info mrwags. I'll just keep checking how wet the coco cubes are and once I find them starting to feel dry. I'll set timer :) Was hoping some one would have a set schedule for me :) New to hydro :woohoo:
