Do It Right. A portable dehumidifier. At 80% you are about maxed out before the walls and windows start sweating, if they aren't already.
I empty an average 38 pints of water every 24 hours during veg and maintain 50/60 % humidity. In flower it is held down to around 40% +/-.
Your cabinet is in a room, the entire room humidity requires maintenance at levels needed during the various growth/flower phases, yes?
The approach you contemplate is without merit in re growing cannabis. It makes as much sense as using boxes of saltine crackers in the grow cabinet as a desiccant, then throwing them out when they become soggy:

you shouldnt even respond to a post if your gonna be sarcastic and pompous. while i appreciate the subsequent input your cracker box analogy was rude. i believe the reason a forum like this exists is for people to learn from one another, not to be ridiculed for inquiring about techniques. so you might as well save that head bash for you dude.

A dessicant of any sort will remove water from the surrounding environment. I imagine you could put some in a small tray and change it out every so often. This thread discusses the use of dessicants for drying buds, but might apply to your situation...
Ignore the contradictors, dude. They have their way of doing things, you can have yours. It's about what works for your situation...

Pirate, that was an analogy, it was not intended to be rude, sarcastic or pompous.
