In the past i would run a 30L dehumidifier to keep my 2k setup at bay with the humidity levels. Well, that unit used 8 amps and was a pain in the but to move around and keep empty. Plus it took up valuable room and the hot air would literally dry out colas krunchy if left to close.

So i started using DampRid buckets. I found that 3 tubs per month is more than enough to keep humidity down below 50%. But it got expensive overtime. So i found a new alternative that works great.

I was struck by the fact that the huge tub of calcium chloride chips I bought from the pool store looked EXACTLY like the damp rid. Turns out they are one and the same. Thus, if you need calcium chloride, GO TO THE POOL SUPPLY STORE - you can get the white flakes that make up damp ride in large quantity. I got 25 lbs for $32. You can buy lesser amounts (down to about 5 lbs). Any pool supply store should have it.

Then i just buy a few large pantyhose stalkings anf fill them up with 5 pounds each. I just simply hang one in the room and it does its job pretty damn good. In the wetter months i hang 2 socks in the room. I just throw them away when they are used up.

My humidity stays below 50%. The point of this method.... Stealth. I dont like to rely on electric company, or local store for damprid...my pool store got no cameras and i only need one trip to last me a while. Hope this can help some of ya'll out. :joint:
