Usually it's a real skunky purple flavor.
Sometimes Kushy and purple tasting.Usually just skunky though. It depends on the clone you get.

The urkle and PK (sr-71) both just taste and smell purple theres really no way to descibe it...
although the PK has a bit more skunky-spice to it

Its all subjective...if you get some that was well grown, cured ect. Then it is probably going to have a hashy taste maybe with a hint of kush but not as profound of a kush smell as the greener OG kushes/bubba/master but maybe...
it's all been good :rasta:

Speaking of Gomi, Nick Diaz should fight him without the weed so everyone can see that weed doesn't help you in fights. =P (Quite the opposite, in fact, it really kills any chance you have of beating anyone.)

the purple kush i had was one of the most tasty strains i ever had. the flavor really struck my pallet. Purple flavor is a good way to describe it, its a very complex smoke that left me smaking my lips after each hit.

Hey JDOG
So you were talking about all the different purple strains in general, or just these US "elite" purples?
If you was talking about all the different purple strains, I can agree quite much with you, that many of them has this grapey, sweet smell & taste on them, but this is not a fact in all caseīs!!
BTW: You have any info considering Motarebelīs Purple Kush?
Reason I asked is because I run one of them currently. Itīs still unsexed, but I got couple more beans and irt would be so nice to hear what to expect!
BTW2(lol): Whats up with all the Kali Mist crossed you were running some time ago?

I was speaking about urkle, GDP, sr71PK, those types of clones.
Just the ones I've tryed I guess.
The Mustang Mists did great.
Couldn't be happier with that cross. It's one of the most potent strains I have now.
Nice sativa high makes you feel like your rushing then it mellows into a nice indy/ sat high. Tastes like piney apricot Bubblegum fuel /Kali Mist earthy skunk.
Apricot and fuel tastes are very light. Mostly tastes like piney Bubblegum hashy skunk.
The only purple Kush I know about from Motarebel is the Kranial Kush pheno that Green's bred with.
Kranial Kush = (Bubba Kush x OG Kush) x ( Bubba Kush x Yumbolt)
I think greens just made seeds and changed the name.(not cool, IMO).
Why change the name, Kranial Kush is a great name. And it's far from real Purple Kush.

all these people use purple as an adjective to describe taste. the only times ive experienced synethesia is when I'm tripping. and for some reason i always hear yellow.

PK is really hard to describe the taste. Other strains you can say berries, ripe fruit, hashy, citrus, on and on but to me this strain is very unique and hard to describe. Just look at the descriptions being used...."Kushy" and "Purple". Those aren't flavours that anyone can really print on in their mind but it's the best we can do.
I don't really find it skunky ( a flavour we can all relate too), maybe because I've been growing several actual skunky strains lately. I do taste a hint of perfume flavour but putting into words and nailing it is most difficult.
I'm about to take down 400 little rock hard PK plants. They are very frosted and starting to go purple. They will get a little more flush this time around for that kushy purple taste to bloom!

Well in B.C. the purple kush usually has a real lemony flavor and a powerful skunky scent, almost smells like ground coffee its so strong.

I had 2 types of Purple Kush first one. Was REALLY potent and was the best tasting strain ever. It had a sweet smell to it, just talking about it makes me  It was more purple then the second one too. Also it was more dense an sticky.
Heres a pic of it.

The second wasn't as strong. But it was like TheSg said, real lemony flavor and a powerful skunky scent. This one was just a little fluffy.
Heres a pic of that one.

Also I'm been looking for a clone or seeds. It's just really hard to find. :(

Since PK is not a Euro or Canadian 'catalog' variety {to my knowledge} and the potential countless factors from source region of clone to nearly infinite grow methods I would not expect very much agreement on something as subjective as taste. Grow some and tell me, us. Grown 100 cuttings of pk outdoors from one parent source in mendo last year. 4 differnt patches, 4 different altitudes with varied soil conditions, sunlight length and so on resulted in subtle differences. My pk varied in purp color some more, some less, some none at all and all cuttings were from one single parent. Kushy flavor w/slight skunky overtones and a hint of spicey hash flavor but not afghan hash, maybe a lebanon aftertaste. Just grow it. Then you can begin yet another drawn out thread regarding authenticity. I cant wait!!

The 'Kush' that is going around Vancouver is a super heavy, skunky, dense smoke that expands in your lungs. Super buzzy, heavy indica type stone. Lovely stuff!!! Expensive, very expensive.

The purple kush I am growing (thats what I was told it was) smells like grape candy to me, like a grape jolly rancher or something. It hasnt shown any purple yet either and it is at 7 weeks today. Whatever it is, I love it. This pick was taken at about 5 weeks

Well being from Northern Cali and living here in the Bay Area, there is an abundance of "REAL" purple going around.........I can honestly say that I haven't smoked green bud in about a year........Yes, there is that much here right now.......As far as taste, where do I start........It has one of those fragrances that once you smell, you'll never forget.......Like Trainwreck, once you've had some real T.W., you could pick it out of a line up, blindfolded........The aroma is usually sweet, skunky, fruity, with a hint nag champa........But can vary so much depending on the grower, how fresh it is, and/or how much the buds have been "finger-banged" (sold as a lb., then sold to someone as qp., and so on........I've always been a purple bud nut and was hella bummed when they closed down Dragonfly M.M. club aka 420 Club aka Hollistic Solutions.........They always had 3-5 different types of the Purps for great prices. $35 eigths, $17 half eigths........This club was one of a kind!!

8 foot PK in my garden. Severly battered by Hurricane Ike - the trunk was split to the ground, lashed right & left by 60mph+ winds, duct taped back together, & it's gonna make it.

Nice golfball sized lower buds, finally turning purple.

Still green but definatly lemon/candy smells. House flys love hanging around it, so the spiders have moved in to harvest their own crop. Even found some large grasshoppers in some of the upper branches, no real harm done.

Here is the REAL deal PK.
Smells somewhat erkle like, a little fuel flavor mixed in. As soon as you squeeze a bud, the kush AND purple flavor jump out at you. By purple, I mean grape/ purple incense. If you would imagine a purple incense, that is what it should smell like.
And then, the foxtailing. You know its the real deal I guess when it foxtails like crazy in the last week or 2.
Here are 2 pics

When people say it taste's "purple" it's because there's no other way to put it. Once you've tastes the original purps, you know that taste forever. So strains that are related, and retain that original flavor can be said to taste "purple. Here in Oregon, it was around a lot more in the 90's, but even then, not too common in my circles.
